The Seventh Cup of Coffee Part 2
Fu Chen stared at her meaningfully and said, “Jiang Ying, I have always been thinking of you over the years.”
Jiang Ying put down her glass. The corners of her lips rose and she asked, “Why?”
“I didn’t understand it either, but when I saw you that day, I seemed to know the reason. You are special to me.”
Jiang Ying listened to him quietly, keeping a smile on the corner of her lips. “Special? Truthfully, I have a deep memory of you, too.”
Fu Chen smiled with satisfaction. “Really?”
Jiang Ying picked up the knife and fork and cut the ribeye on the plate. “It’s really unforgettable. You insisted that rumors were spread by me without any evidence, you isolated me, you excluded me, you locked me up in the equipment room and made me late for class, and for the sports competition you signed me up for 800 meters race. What else was there?”
As each thing was listed, Fu Chen’s face sank. He touched his neck and said awkwardly, “There’s no need to mention these things.”
Jiang Ying let out an exaggerated “Oh” and continued, “You also only gave me one side of the tests, you tore up my homework so I couldn’t finish it, and you hit me with a basketball in the gym. It was on purpose, right? I heard you and the boys laughing at me.”
Fu Chen cleared his throat. “Hey, Jiang Ying, those things don’t mean anything now.”
Jiang Ying’s lips became flat. She looked coldly at the person in front of her. “I used to suffer in silence. I thought it was better to avoid causing more trouble and wait for you to be bored with me. Of course, I don’t have the ability to fight against you. But there is no need to mention the past. I had forgotten you a long time ago, and now you are and it disgusts me.”
The tip of the knife cut across the porcelain plate and made a high pitch shrill sound, which made him jittery. “Now, I’m not afraid of causing more trouble. Let’s settle things and be reasonable.
Fu Chen pulled at his tie. He grimly laughed and said with disdain, “Jiang Ying, don’t you think I know what you are like?”
Jiang Ying looked at him calmly, remembering that she had once been cowardly and afraid to speak up. She nodded to acknowledge it. “You really do, I used to be weak.”
With a creak, the chair slid. Jiang Ying walked around the table and stood in front of Fu Chen.
She gave him a sharp slap in the face, firm and hard. Fu Chen instantly went, staring at Jiang Ying speechlessly.
The noise alarmed the other guests in the restaurant.
Jiang Ying’s hand was tingling. She tried her best to restrain the tremor in her voice and asked Fu Chen, “What am I like now?”
“Damn it.” Fu Chen’s anger was lit. He glared at her ferociously, and suddenly stood up and raised his hand.

Without thinking, Jiang Ying put her arms up to cover her face, but she was suddenly pulled into someone’s arms.
Her hip hit the corner of the table, and the knife fell to the ground. It clinked a few times. Jiang Ying gasped and looked up.
Their eyes met and Yun Xian frowned and was also short of breath. This was the first time she had seen him in such a state.
With this familiar face in front of her, Jiang Ying’s anger instantly cleared up. She opened her mouth and didn’t know what to say. How could he be here? What did he see? How much did he see? And what does he think of her now?
Yun Xian took Jiang Ying’s arm, and put her behind him. He asked Fu Chen in a serious voice, “What are you trying to do?”
Fu Chen looked at the people around him that were watching. Many of them were holding up their cell phones and whispering. He had a reputation. His face turned flushed. He pointed at Jiang Ying, and left her with these words: “I owe you this slap, we are settled now.” Then he ran away quickly.
Behind Yun Xian, Jiang Ying couldn’t help it and shouted after him with threatening words, “Settle a damn what? You owe me a lot!”
Sensing that someone was filming, Yun Xian grabbed Jiang Ying’s waving hand and deliberately covered her face. He picked up the bag on the table and took her out of the restaurant doors.
At seven o’clock in the evening, it was a busy time. People were everywhere on the streets and the city lights were turning on.
As the cool night breeze blew, Jiang Ying shook her head and took a deep breath. The impulsive feeling slowly subsided.
“Why are you here?” She asked Yun Xian.
Yun Xian replied, “I was having dinner with friends.”
Jiang Ying scratched her head and questioned, “Did you see everything?”
“Yeah.”
Jiang Ying picked a step to sit down on and covered her face with her hands. She let out a sigh of regret.
Yun Xian walked over and sat next to her. “Now you feel embarrassed?”
Jiang Ying hugged her knees and whispered, “No, I didn’t expect you to be there.”
“I didn’t think you would be like this either…” Yun Xian paused and did not go on.
Jiang Ying finished it positively for him, “So fierce and so brave, right?”
Yun Xian smiled and figured he should agree.
