In this phony prison in the far corner of the capital, two mages seats at a table of two. Sabrina and I reveal our bloodlust at their purest as we stare eye-to-eye.
We observe each other with caution. In this staredown, the first to flinch was Sabrina. Blood and bile pour from her mouth smearing the table with red and green.
I sneer at her. “Looks like you weren’t able to exactly defend my magic back then in the exams. Is this why you are so desperate on killing me? That you might die first before you get revenge or something?”
Sabrina while trying to stabilize her breath speaks her mind. “Don’t get too ahead of yourself. I just don’t want you falling to your father’s tricks, singularity.”
“Pfft…” I snicker, this person is really ridiculous. “That confirms it, I had my hunch, but…”
Singularity, the only person that addresses me this way is my so-called dad. Sabrina can use Ghost Magic, make clones, and shapeshift. This alone is not enough to decide things conclusively, still, the suspicion didn’t leave my mind. “Dad, there is no shame in being a faggot, you know? Gender Bender is not really a sin, just a unique genre, I guess.” I playfully tell Sabrina.
Sabrina starts choking on her blood maybe from shock. “Ha! Haha! Hahahah!” Then, she starts laughing. Maybe it is too much shock. “You brat, that’s some wild imagination! I am not your dad! I am your mom, you dimwit!”
Whaaaaaaaaat?
Hmm… Wait… This might be a lie. But this is too convincing to be a lie. If Sabrina Crook is really Aaron Jester’s mom, wouldn’t that explain how Philip ends up being that crazy? “That changes nothing though, I am still going to kill you. It is not like I really am your son.”
Sabrina raises her hands defensively. “Wait, I am not done yet. Like you, I am not a native of this world!”
I stand from my seat, “So, a devil?” If she really is a devil, I will be dead meat. I try not to show it to my face but I’ve been uncertain whether I will be able to pull this off or not this all time.
Sabrina quickly offers an explanation. “No, not a devil! I am human. If you want proof then, how about this? My favorite actor is Tom Cruise!”
“Mine is Ryan Reynolds.” I nonchalantly answer back. “Fine, I believe you. What do you want? Did you summon me?”
Sabrina offers more explanation. “I just want to go home! And I didn’t summon you, okay?”
Expounding on her reasoning, she continues her story. “I will be honest with you. This is my 14th lifetime. I was using my Soul Devouring Magic for a long time like this. You see, I only have one wish, to go home. It was an accident that your father managed to trace me.”
Sabrina takes out some things from her pockets. There were pictures of a family of three, Philip, the late wife, and a baby Aaron. “Philip was a very ambitious and greedy man. Among the men I married, Philip definitely is the most charming and most dangerous. Do you think I really wanted to be captain of Purple Orca? Philip coerced me into it telling me that it will help me achieve my goals.

“I am OP enough to be the Wizard King, but Philip doesn’t want me to. He is a very conflicting man that is hard to understand. To my eyes, you might as well be as dangerous. I want to kill you for two reasons— firstly, I fear you, and secondly, I want your magic attribute, singularity.
“I’ve tried many methods of how I can go home. Spatial magic is definitely not the answer. This is a definite conclusion that I was only able to learn after a painstaking series of lifetimes. I am now backed into a corner, and the only way I see out is by making a compromise with you.”
Sabrina immediately falls silent.
I was speechless as I don’t know what to say. Sabrina is basically telling me she is innocent. I have no way to verify it. Still, it won’t hurt me to hear her. “What do you want?”
Sabrina jubilantly cries at my question. “Hit me with your strongest Singularity Magic simultaneously at the grimoire and me. I will do the rest.”
???
Isn’t she just asking to be killed? “What do I get in return?” I might as well go for broke.
Sabrina is hopeful of her return home, so she gives her all. “Everything. Drouot has it all prepared. You will get your inheritance money without issue. It was already prepared together with a few bonuses. I was originally planning to do this deal once you are inside the prison, but this isn’t that bad either.”
Sigh… It looks like I just have to do it. “Fine,” I raise my two index fingers, and with a single breath, I release two [Dots of Singularity], “Go die, but try not to…”

She wakes up in a stuffy place with someone’s weight on her neck and shoulder. She looks to her left only to see her beautiful daughter hugging her. Meanwhile, to her right, is her snoring husband.
Both daughter and husband are hugging her. With her in the middle, she starts sobbing softly. Finally, she is at home. She looks at her daughter who for some reason reminds her of Aaron Jester, her fellow otherworlder. “They are about the same age.” She tells herself.
“Mom,” Her daughter wakes up and calls to her. “Why are you crying?”
The mother of one, and a husband of one, she who returns to this Earth with a thankful heart continues crying tears of joy. “No, daughter. Dust just got in my eyes. Go sleep, the night is still long.”
