Sigh, it would be lovely if Lu is also with us. Clearly, the bird didn’t want to come with us to the Witches’ forest, as such, Lu chooses to stay with old Drouot back in the Enchantment Workshop.
The Neutral Territory or more famously the ‘Grand Magic Zone’ is a place/s of exceptionally strong and dense mana, similar to dungeons. The neutral area between the Spade Kingdom and three other kingdoms is full of such zones, making travel through it treacherous.
The Witches' Forest is a small, independent country of witches that the Witch Queen rules over. This is our goal. The entire population consists of women with special types of magic, like curses and familiars. Hopefully, we can find our answer there that can save Acier.
Worst case scenario, I’d have to personally make a deal with the Witch Queen.
As the Witches’ forest is standing between the Clover and Diamond kingdom, I can also expect Diamond-related activities on our way so we have to be very careful. The Grand Magic Zone will definitely be full of danger.
That is why I did my best in the long month of preparation I had. Just talking with Drouot already improves our chances. Now that we have amazing gear, our chances will just keep on improving as we also train ourselves along this journey.
“Jack,” I call to the hunter. “We’d have to rely on you to hunt for food. I lack any idea as to how to properly track, hunt and butcher. We are lucky to have you, so please work hard.”
Jack smiles at my sincere compliments that is basically telling him to work. “Kekeke~ follow my lead! I will teach you how to hunt!”
In our first 24 hours here in the Grand Magic Zone, we had Jack lead the way. Mereoleona is not as clueless as I was with her being a captain and all, she at least knows how to take care of herself in this annoying Grand Magic Zone.
For me... I cannot begin to count how often I get myself into accidents— tripped, tangled, and ambushed. All manners of beasts, fauna, and phenomena lurk in every corner of the Grand Magic Zone.
Mereoleona reprimands me for my uselessness. “Pull yourself. Don’t be a hindrance. Where the hell is that guy who challenged the Magic Knight Captains? Make yourself useful.” Throwing me her bag and Jack’s bag, I become the party’s official bagboy.
I am aware. I will be of no help in the hunt. If I use my Singularity Magic, I will end up erasing the prey. My [Singularity Divide] though less aggressive than [Dot of Singularity], still has extreme effects on the target. Anything that my magic touches become one with the singularity.
Jack who is leading the way stops in his tracks. “Kekeke~ I found it! It is dinner.”
I crouch and hide in a boulder. “Fight! Don’t worry about me.”
Standing on its four legs, the monstrous boar about seven meters tall starts its rampage. Jack and Mereoleona fight it to the death. After four hours and so, the boar stops squealing.
Jack and Mereoleona are too exhausted to move. They overdid it. Can’t they just hunt for something small? Isn’t this oversized boar like this area’s overlord?
I volunteer the task of butchering the enormous boar. “Jack, tell me what to do. Maybe I can try butchering it with [Singularity Divide].”
Jack immediately warns me not to. “Do not! Ugh… Your magic attribute is disgusting. Just let's take a breather, I’ll do it.”

In a couple of months, we were preparing ourselves, we were able to learn more about each other, Mereoleona, Jack, and me. In the sparring and training, we learn from each other about our traits, tricks, and magic.
I discover that others find my magic attribute disturbingly disgusting. Unlike the poison attribute which is physically disgusting or the soul-devouring attribute which is psychologically disgusting, Mereoleona and Jack find my attribute repulsively disgusting in the purest, bizarre, dreadful sense.
It is like seeing an alien, this was the only way I can describe their feelings.
I have other reasons why I want to go to the Witches’ Forest. I admit that my primary reason for coming here is to find a way to save Acier. But after the series of events and doubts accumulating in my mind, I add another reason for me to go to the Witches’ Forest.
I want to know. Is there a reason why am I in this world? I wish to consult the Witch Queen. With her ability of [Fortune-telling], I believe I can find a way for me to fit the pieces of the puzzle by pieces.
I didn’t imagine it. I think I was able to see a glimpse of it, the full picture, after the Sabrina incident. If otherworlders exist in this world, it is a mystery how the anime Black Clover will be relevant. Just think, maybe the anime Black Clover is not even the absolute and original timeline.
This is hurting my head too much. To think that the Multiverse Dilemma will haunt me even in this otherworld. While I am a sucker for the isekai genre, isn’t this too much? I am now a character inside an isekai, not a reader! Sheesh…
If god were an author, I resent him for choosing me as the protagonist, not that I fancy myself as one. I am more of a Deus Ex-Machina and a super-hidden-special character.
After Jack has enough rest, he immediately proceeds in butchering the enormous boar. Using Mereoleona’s flames, we cook the game. Sparing the bones, we finish our meal. I have long set up our tents. Thankfully, my boy scout skills are still there so I was able to quickly set up a tent.
With separate tents for Mereoleona and Jack to sleep in, I was made to do guard duties for the night. I willingly oblige to be the first Nightwatch. “Thanks for the hard work.”
Seating by a bonfire, I continue feeding the flames with wood to keep myself warm. It is a silent starless night and I cannot even hear the chirping of crickets.
Rustle, rustle~
Aside from the rustling sound in thickets of shrubs, I feel the presence of two people. With my Ki sensing improving every day, I can now approximately guess the age of a person. Judging by the new arrivals' Ki, I reckon they are about 13 years old.
Alighting from the shrubs, and with the light that the bonfire was giving off, I see who the two arrivals were. It is a blonde lass and a red-haired lad.
The lass has some bruises, though she looks fine, it appears that she had a very rough day considering her torn clothes and a bloody lip. The lad however has it worse, there is a bloody stench in his abdomen. It looks like he has been bleeding for some time already.
Gasping for her breath and on the brink of losing consciousness, the blond lass then pleads at me. “H-help…”
