Chapter 62: CHAPTER 62 SLASH SLASH (Bonus Chapter)

“Oh, shit, who is this lot?” I cannot help but utter my lack of confidence.

“I already told you, some bastards may be affiliated with the church.” Jack who is beside me exasperatedly explains.

After meeting each other in the forest, and rushing back, I was able to puzzle it out and get the story. Basically, ‘characters’ not in the anime are visiting the Clover Kingdom.

Maybe the scene happening in front of me actually did happen in the anime, but only behind the scenes which also goes by the name ‘history’.

One of the disadvantages of the Black Clover anime is clearly its lacking history.

Though Naruto’s overcompensating flashback is annoying, the history that the story has built made the story whole. While One Piece still has a long way to go and is still far from the conclusion, it is still a whole story with its episode counts alone not to mention the flashbacks and background stories of each character.

For me, in terms of the past, the only people I have information on are the first Wizard King, Asta’s mom, and albeit lacking, the elves.

In a sense, by fighting for the original story, I am actually protecting my advantages. So other than my personal feelings, I am also preserving the original timeline in which plenty of information will become available to me.

The reason I chose prison, and didn’t even bother to work on more underhanded methods, is because that’s my way of keeping myself from changing the original story, or the original ‘timeline’ as I like to call it.

Sometimes, I fantasize about watching the exact replica of the anime in real life. For example, the day Asta and Yuno receive their grimoires. While at it, I will do some prophesizing. I cannot wait for Julius to become Wizard King and play the clown. Or an adviser, something like that.

“Hey, are you okay? You look creepy smiling like that.”

Bringing me out from my inner world of insanity is Jack shaking my shoulder.

“Nah, man, I am good. What do you say you mince them good? Have birdy play with you and join them?” I tease Jack, which by no means is also a serious suggestion.

“Obliged,” With a word, Jack leaps into action with the miniature eagle AKA the bird. “Keekeke~ let’s do some slashin’, dicin’, mincin, and mixin’ Kekekeke~!”

Did I just set loose of a serial killer? Meh?

From the shadows of the walls, Jack beelines to his enemies. He dexterously dodges the panicking witches some of them are taking blind shots at the three figures in the center of the plaza.

REINFORCEMENT MAGIC: LEG STRENGTH BOOST!

Jack catches up to the idly standing Cain. With sharp razor blades in his arms, Jack executes a guillotine chop!

DEATH SCYTHE: GUILLOTINE SLASH!

From nowhere, a kick comes rushing at Jack’s abdomen. It propels him upwards causing him to ascend into the air. It hurts, but he suppresses the sensation of pain by gritting his teeth hard.

From above, he sees the one responsible for it, a piece of walking metal. “Kekekeke~ I will cut you to ribbons!”

COMPOUND MAGIC: TEMPEST SLASH!

While in midair, Jack decides on a magic formula on the fly. This demonstrates his unique genius of thinking on his feet. The small little birdy that was following him transforms into an eagle, and with Jack’s magic, he transforms the eagle into a pure slashing force.

Meta whose attention was on Jack didn’t notice the magic beast of pure mana that appeared sneakily out of nowhere.

Cain’s eyes widen in shock as he sees Meta being flung in an instant. He watches the magic beast cry in fury, changes its direction, and then rush at him. “Fuck, why me?”

Meta barely was able to dodge. It realizes some cracks forming in its arms. Though it lacks free will, it still had some thoughts and emotions, one of which is fear… and then anger.

With a single burst, Meta rushes on a sonic boom to defend Cain who was about to be cut up. He punches the eagle with tremendous strength however, he missed. The eagle suddenly transforms into a small bird in midair.

Jack who was in midair and above the sky reach the peak of his momentum. The moment he was about to descend, Jack smiles and unleash his magic at once.

REINFORCEMENT MAGIC: LEG STRENGTH BOOST!

He kicks the air, causing a sonic boom reminiscence of Meta’s explosive speed. With the help of gravity, Jack rapidly descends to his enemies, his target, Meta wasn’t able to react on time because of his lack of judgment since missing the eagle.

DEATH SCYTHE!

With one swift motion, Jack swings his right arm.

Meta defends himself by raising his arms to block the magic. The slashing force of mana wasn’t able to cut his arms.

But Jack is not one to give up so easily. He raises his left arm, adjusts the mana frequency, and slashes once more.

DEATH SCYTHE!

Meta feels that there is something wrong this time, but it’s too late.

With a manic grin, Jack cleanly slices one of Meta’s metallic arms. The arm drops with a loud clang.

Cain watches this happen helplessly as he is too busy to help. The eagle is pestering him and is keeping check of him. He looks at the 9^th apostle, Sloan who is still sleeping.

“Senior! Please help, these guys are strong!” Cain decides to risk it. He recalls his senior threatening him with death if he dares disturb his sleep. Cain would rather be dead than fail this mission.

One way or another, he can imagine his boss chasing him in the afterlife just to lecture him about his failure.

Sloan opens his eyes annoyed. He raises his right hand and was about to unleash his magic… when… someone abruptly holds his hand.

His sleepy eyes widen in shock. In front of him is Dorothy, eyes closed, she emanates mana in great quantities. In the blink of an eye, the two of them vanish into the Glamour World.

Cain cusses on his bad luck. “What the F?”
