After the excitement of the seance we took a little while to tour around the different exhibits and stuff. None of us bought anything, but it was kind of cool seeing some of the same tools for sale that the ghost hunters mentioned in their lecture.

When we'd all seen enough of the place we finally headed out together to get dinner somewhere, and needless to say the topic of conversation for the rest of the night was what happened during the seance, and how the medium and her assistant were both the real deal along with the silver cup.

That was about it for Saturday, then Sunday me and Nina mostly just caught up on homework and chores and stuff like that. Although we did find time for some gaming too of course.

And Monday was just another normal day, or at least it was up until lunch time. Then I met up with Cerys, because the two of us had a little mission. Nina Kaylee Melanie and Paige all sat together for lunch, but me and Club Luna's next leader had a little meeting planned.

The two of us intercepted our target as she came into the lunch room. As we approached Cerys asked her, "Hey Willow, can me and Cass have lunch with you? There's something we wanted to talk about."

The cute sorceress looked a little uneasy, she replied quietly "I haven't done anything wrong. I've kept my promise not to use my magic anymore."

"That's not..." Cerys started to say. Then she smiled, "Well ok that's kind of what we wanted to talk about? But you're not in trouble or anything, I promise."

Willow relaxed a little and nodded, "All right then."

The three of us got a table in the far corner, then as we all got our lunches out Cerys kicked things off. "So you know me and Cass and a few others are kind of a group right? And you've met Cass's moms, you know they're involved. We never really told you any details though."

"No, but you all made sure I swore to keep it to myself," the ravenette responded. "And I have, I haven't said anything to anyone about that either."

Cerys nodded, "I figured. And like I said, you're not in trouble. So the thing is, me and Cass are here to tell you a little more about that group of friends, and what sorts of stuff we do. Then if you're down with it, maybe you'd like to join us?"

Willow looked from the wolfgirl to me, then frowned as she quietly munched on a bite of her sandwich. She seemed to be thinking things over, so me and Cerys also started eating too.

After another minute or so the sorceress spoke up again. She remained quiet though, we were all careful not to let anyone overhear the conversation.

"So I figure you're a witch," she told Cerys. "Even if you don't wear the costume anymore, I remember you were bragging about being a real witch a few months back. And we've all heard the rumours, so I assume Cass is a witch too, along with her moms. Same with the rest of your friends."

The young blonde smiled, "Yes and no. The rumours are all bogus, but I guess some of them are close to the truth. I am a real witch, so are some of our friends. I'm also a werewolf. And in addition to witches and werewolves, our little group has a friendly demon and a shape-shifter. Basically we're a group of human witches and other supernaturals, and we use our talents to try and keep everyone else safe."

I was glad Cerys didn't mention me when she was talking about the different non-humans in the group. I figured if Willow joined us she'd find out the truth, but for now I was happier letting her assume I was just another human witch.

Willow's eyes widened as she looked to the young blonde, "You're a werewolf? Isn't the full moon tonight?"

She was right, although the moon wouldn't actually reach its peak until tomorrow morning. The surprising thing was that Cerys was even at school today, normally she and Melanie were off from the day before until the day after the full moon.

The blonde were just nodded, "Yeah it's tonight, and when the sun sets I'll be out in my wolf form. Probably running around in the woods or something."

After a sip of her drink she continued, "Anyways our group investigates hauntings, unnatural or paranormal occurrences, that sort of thing. In the last two years we've faced plenty of unusual or supernatural situations. Including ghosts, zombies, fae, vampires, and you."

"We try and keep people safe," I added, "But we don't go around looking for fights. We prefer to find friendly, peaceful solutions to things, like we did with you. The vampires Cerys mentioned turned out to be kind of friendly. We ended up having to banish the fae, but we didn't hurt any of them. My parents made friends with the necromancer and he promised to stop raising zombies. Basically we try to use our talents for good, to protect people and help them and stuff."

Willow looked back and forth between me and Cerys as she had another bite of her sandwich. Then she asked, "And you're inviting me to join your group? Because I'm a sorceress now? But you all made me swear not to use that magic anymore, so what's the point?"

"We'd help you learn how to use it better," I replied. "None of us are sorcerers, but we have experience with magic and we'd try and teach you how to control it."

Cerys pointed out, "Obviously you'd be allowed to use the magic if we were teaching you and helping you to do it responsibly."

"Maybe we could even help you level-up your sorcery?" she added with a smile.

The sorceress rolled her eyes as she took another bite of her sandwich. Then after thinking it over for a few moments she asked me, "So Cerys is a werewolf and a witch, what are you? If I go by the rumours you're a human witch, but she said the rumours were wrong."

I tried not to blush or grimace or cringe or anything, but I still didn't like to talk about it. The whole goddess thing still gave me mixed feelings, even if sometimes I felt completely calm and confident about the whole thing.

So instead of giving her the whole truth I went with half of it for now, "I'm uh, half demon, half something else. It's not really important, but you'll probably find out eventually if you join the club."

Willow's eyebrows crept up as she stared at me for a few seconds. Then she asked, "Seriously?! You're part demon? What's a demon doing hanging around a high school?"

"I'm at high school for the same reason you are," I replied as my cheeks started to heat up. "I'm here for the education and a diploma. And next year I'm going to college."

The sorceress frowned, "But aren't demons ancient immortal beings or something?"

"I'm not like that," I mumbled quietly. "I'm only eighteen. Anyways it's a long story and like I said you'll probably hear it sooner or later. But right now we're supposed to be talking to you about joining our group."

She was still frowning, but she finally nodded "Ok. I figured you had to be something special, the way you drained my magic away when you all caught me. So I guess you're the boss of the gang, since you're probably the most powerful and everything?"

I shook my head, "I'm definitely not the boss. We have a new leader every year, and now it's Cerys's turn."

"Seriously?" Willow looked at the young blonde again. "You?"

Now it was the wolfgirl's turn to blush. Her cheeks went pink but she nodded, "Yeah, that's how we've always done it. I'm not officially the leader yet, but starting next month I'll be in charge."

The sorceress looked thoughtful again as she finished her sandwich, and she continued to think things over as she drained the last of her soda too. Then she finally asked, "So if I agree to join your gang, what happens? Is there some kind of initiation ritual? Or a hazing?"

"Absolutely not," Cerys replied. "If you join we'll all get together someplace private for another meeting. We'll introduce you to everyone else, and tell you more about who we are and what we do. One or two of us will start training you, like teaching you more about how we do stuff and also help you get a better handle on your magic."

I added, "Obviously the whole thing is very secret. You'd have to swear to keep those secrets, from your other friends, your parents, everyone. It's important for your safety and ours."

Willow nodded, "Makes sense. So how big is this group? Is it just the six of you? Or are there others?"

"Right now there's eight," Cerys replied. "But there might only be four in a couple months. People graduate, they move on or move away. Maybe you'll leave in a year too, after graduation? It's not a life-long commitment, but if you're interested and want to stick around after graduation that's probably fine too."

"Ok," the ravenette said as she looked thoughtful again. "And if I join, are the meetings and stuff mandatory? How often do you meet? Oh and is this dangerous? Will it put me or my family at risk?"

Cerys shook her head, "Nothing's mandatory, but as a new member it would be best to try and make it to as many meetings as you can. We get together once a month, around the full moon. Plus we have extra meetings whenever it's necessary. As for being dangerous..."

Her voice trailed off as she thought about that for a second or two. Then she shrugged, "It can be. Messing with the supernatural is always going to be risky. You've already crossed that line though Willow. You already put yourself and your family at risk. Personally, I think it's safer to be part of a group because we all watch each other's backs and stuff? We've had some close calls over the last couple years, but we look out for each other, and we've kept each other safe."

Willow nodded slowly, then asked "So what happens next? If I say yes, what do we do? Or if I say no, what happens?"

"If you want in then I'll talk to the rest of the group and we'll arrange a meeting," Cerys replied. "You'll get to know everyone and we'll start teaching you about who we are, what we do, and how to safely use your magic."

She continued, "If you say no then that's all. We'll ask you not to share what we've talked about with anyone, but there's no penalties or anything. We won't bother you about it again."

"And if I join but change my mind? Can I quit?"

Cerys and I exchanged a glance, then the wolfgirl admitted "That's never actually happened before, as far as I know. But yeah, you can always quit if you want. We'll just ask you to keep our secrets, obviously."

I felt myself putting on that calm confident act as I leaned forward towards Willow and cautioned her, "It might seem suspicious if you agreed to join us then quit immediately after learning all of our secrets. In that sort of situation we might insist you take a binding oath to keep those secrets, for our own protection. But other than that, I don't think there'd be any repercussions for quitting."

The wolfgirl gave me a bit of an odd look, but I ignored it as I relaxed back into my seat again. My confidence drained away as I picked up my water bottle and had a few gulps, then adjusted my hoodie slightly so I felt more comfortable and protected.

"Ok," Willow finally stated. "It sounds like a no-brainer. From what you've said anyways, it's all positives and no negatives. And if I can change my mind and quit then there's no reason not to give it a try."

That made the wolfgirl smile, "Cool. I'll talk to the others later, and we'll be in touch to set up a meeting."

With the 'official business' over the three of us kind of relaxed a bit for the rest of the lunch period. I asked Willow, "So how's everything else going? Are your friends still acting freaked out about how you got 'zapped' last month?"

Willow shrugged, "Stuff's going good. My family's pretty much accepted everything, they seem cool with me being a girl, being Willow. They've been using my new name and pronouns practically from the start which is great."

"Me and Gord are still friends too," she added. "Not so much with Kyle and Danny. We had an argument two weeks ago. They kept deadnaming and misgendering me, and when I told them to quit it they got all pissy and doubled down on it."

I sighed, "That sucks. I'm glad you're still friends with Gord though. And you can always talk with me about stuff if you want? I'm sure Melanie would say the same."

Willow gave me a smile, "Thanks Cass. It's maybe a bit freaky knowing what you really are now, but um, I guess I'd rather be your friend than an enemy, right? But anyways it's fine. And who knows, maybe I'm going to get a bunch more friends when I join your gang."

"You will," Cerys smiled. "That's one other thing I forgot to mention. We're all gay or queer or whatever. The whole group's really accepting and open-minded about all that stuff."

"Seriously?" Willow almost laughed. "Maybe you should start an LGBT club in the school, I had no idea there were so many other queer kids here."

"We'll bring it up at the next meeting," the wolfgirl joked. "It's not a bad idea to be honest."

The three of us talked a bit more about that, and other random topics until it was finally time to get back to class. Melanie and Nina joined up with Willow and Cerys, while I met up with Kaylee and Paige.

We had English with Ms. Fields next, so the three of us walked together to her class. Then I went to my usual spot in the corner while they sat at their regular seats up front.

The class itself was the normal boring stuff, but I couldn't help notice our teacher didn't look too good. Ms. Fields had bags under her eyes and she just looked really weary, like maybe she was coming down with something. Or maybe she didn't sleep well the night before.

It wasn't bad enough for anyone to call her out on it, but I knew at least a few other students noticed. Including my fellow club members. Not that there was anything we could do about it, and I didn't even really know her well enough to ask if she was ok. And despite looking and sounding really tired and beat she still got through most of the class ok.

Then at the very end when she was talking about our homework assignment, things took a turn for the weird.

Ms. Fields went up to the blackboard and started writing out what she wanted us all to do before the next class, but she was writing it backwards. Like from right to left, the letters and words were all perfectly mirrored.

She didn't even seem to notice she was doing it, which made it even freakier. And she didn't have any hesitation or anything, like the mirror-writing was just natural for her as she quickly wrote out in chalk what chapters we needed to read and what kind of write-up she expected us to bring to our next English class.

Up in the front row Kaylee and Paige exchanged a glance, then my girlfriend turned in her seat and looked back at me. Her expression made it clear, this was definitely not normal. And maybe it was something Club Luna needed to deal with.
