Chapter 20: Chapter 20 – Entering the Dangerous Fray

There might be some minor mistakes in today's chapter here and there as I was writing this chapter at 4 am while feeling sleepy. Furthermore, it was written on my mobile. As soon as he announced the end of the training for the day, both Arato and Kiara left the room without wasting a second, leaving two hostile group in the room.

Looking at each other, Ryo and Alpha started at each other as tension rose between the two group, but suddenly Ryo smiled a little as he walked out to Alpha, who was standing in front of the others and extended his hands for a handshake.

"It was nice meeting you, Code Alpha. Hope we get along well."

Although a bit cautious at Ryo's action, Alpha smiled at Ryo in return and shook his hand and replied, "Likewise. It was great knowing you. Hope we get along well.", but he then tried to clench Ryo's hand, trying to learn about Ryo's strength and provoke him.

His reply and actions made Ryo smile go wider and he shook the hands without doing anything in return. Although Alpha might have used all his strength to make sure that Ryo feel at least a bit of pain, but to Ryo, who have trained his body from the very start, it felt like a child trying to hurt him.

With an awkward hand shake for a few seconds, Alpha let go of Ryo's hands and looked at his group and said, "Let's go.", and walked out of the room, leaving both smiling Ryo and Zero Two.

"Darling Ahh!" 

Looking at the bright red food bought to his mouth by Zero Two, Ryo looked at the sight with dead eyes as he opened his mouth and accepted his face. As he opened his, Zero Two smiled a little and pushed the red piece of food into Ryo's mouth.

*Nom*

Sadly as soon as the food touched Ryo's tongue, his face turned a bit red as he felt like crying. The food was spicy, not too much but with the enhancement in sense of taste and him having curse of feeling everything multiple times over, the food almost made him shred tear because of how hot it was.

But looking at Zero Two smiling, Ryo felt that it was worth it.

During all the previous years, when they were allowed to access more areas, Zero Two somehow got hang out on spicy things. Probably with how 'fun' that she felt when eating some spicy stuff, Zero Two fell in love with hot and spicy stuff.

Then after reading the book, she got motivation to make food for Ryo, but due to how she liked spicy stuff, when she first made some dishes for Ryo, he almost fainted when he just tasted the food with his tongue. After that, he started to stay and observe Zero Two whenever she makes food, helping (stopping) her by adding the ingredients himself to save himself.

Thankfully with his bloodline, his body was fine and working properly. If he was him from his previous life, he will be having some stomach trouble once an interval of two days, but it was taken care of by his healing capabilities.

If Ryo was to say, he was most thankful to his healing abilities of his body. It was the ability which greatly helped him survive through the spicy and hot stuff.

'Sign. At least she is happy. I though that it might take her a bit of time to coax her back, but she just didn't mind my action... Or I think she already knew why I didn't helped her.'

"Ahhh!"

'Well shit.'

Ryo's attention was attracted to the food bought to his mouth by Zero Two, making him curse internally as he swallowed his saliva in nervousness again. The food just make him feel intimidating no matter how much he just looks at it.

*Nom*

'Hot!'

Ryo felt the same tangy and spicy feeling over his tongue, which made him feel fearful of the red stuff while also wanting for more as it was just tasty, even through it was spicy. He was just amazed by how fast Zero Two was able to learn how to cook. It has only been a year since she started to make food but her skills can be considered top notch when she makes spicy food, except her skills in adding some of the ingredients like chili powder and stuff.

Shaking his head, Ryo started to try to distract himself.

'Hmm. I just showed a bit of my abilities to Delta, and I am sure that this will reach the 'Chairman' of the APE's Seven Sages. This will make them think that I am ignorant of their plan and they might be thinking that they can use Arato, Kiara, and the Elite Klaxosaur Hybrid group to monitor me. But, this will also make them curious my other abilities, giving me more challenges and resources to show off my abilities.'

'But this is what I want. I want them to think of me as an ignorant young child. This will also made them less cautious of them toward me, but also made them more curious towards me, making me get more access, while they try to monitor me, trying to find more abilities of mine.'

'Again, this will happen only to me. I have gain their attention toward me as Zero Two has yet to show her abilities to the others on my command. This will lessen the burden on Zero Two while I will also be also be able to execute my plans according to my arrangement that I have already made for the future. I don not want Zero Two to be dragged into all my plans.'

'Now, I just want to make Franxx more curious about me and my ability. With how curious and observant he was, I am sure that he had already figured out some of my abilities, but he would not report them to the Seven Sage, just I as had expected. In the plot, Franxx was against the arrangement made by Seven Sages on most of the arrangements. This had already made a barrier between them, making it easier to use his as my pawn for my arrangement.'

'Werner Franxx, don't make me wait for long. Although I do not think that you know a bit of my plan, but if you have already figured out my plans, you will still come to me and become my pawn like I have planned. Afterall, emotionless scientists who wants to see the peak of evolution are one of the easiest pawn to be used for short terms until or unless they are good in strategic forming area, which I do not think Franxx can be considered in.'

'Heh. Now we wait. Lets just hope that my arrangement is followed well. We are now in the dangerous fray. One mistake and all of it will be in a mess. Although I indeed have follow up plans, I hope that I do not have to implement any of them.'

Knowing full well that he will be entering the dangerous fray where all the enemies will be targeting him, Ryo only felt more resolute to make Zero Two suffer as less as he could possible.

"Darling? Why are you in deep thoughts? Are you thinking about something else? Is my food bad or not to your liking? "

Signing internally, Ryo smiled at Zero Two and replied and consoling her when he saw her feeling insecure about her cooking skills.

After completing their breakfast, they walked calmly to the 'Operation Room 7: Special Laboratory' for getting their new Identity Pass.

As soon as they entered, Ryo observed the room. The room looked like classical clinic but the room was multiple time its normal size. But this was not what attracted Ryo's attention. In the center of the room was none other than Dr. Franxx. On the other hand, the whole room was empty. Not even the nurses and the soldiers were there.

Narrowing his eyes, Ryo said, "Dr. Franxx?". Finally his arrangements were paying off. With his smooth acting and him revealing a bit of his abilities to the APEs, would have made Franxx feel a bit of a crisis with how Ryo will be targeted. Thus he will come running to Ryo like he had planned, although it was much earlier than he thought, but it was all within all his plans even now.

"Code 003. Do you know why I am here? I think between you and Code 002, you would definitely know of why I am here."

Taping his cane on the ground, Dr. Franxx asked. As soon as asked that, he walked up to a chair by the end of the room and sitting over it, he adjusted his glasses, will looking at both Ryo and Zero Two. But his main focus was on Ryo only.

"What do you mean, Dr. Franxx? I do not understand what you are talking about."

Acting a bit confused, Ryo asked Franxx. Although he could indeed start to act out, he knew better than to control his excitement. Currently he was not sure if there was any camera or voice recorder in the room, which Franxx could take advantage of and blackmail him in return.

Although he didn't think that Franxx will have much of an advantage over him, he didn't want to make a variable destroy all his plans. He is an 'Outsider'. One mistake and mess in his plan can be taken advantage of by the 'World Will'. He never believed in luck. He had already made mistakes based on luck in his previous and Ryo didn't want to repeat them at all.

"I see. Do not worry, Code 003. I know what you are cautious about. You can stop acting around. I have already seen through you several years before. I am not a fool to ignore all the statistics and your actions. Furthermore, I will not be able to gain much even if I gather evidence about your intelligence."

"And who do you think were protecting you all the while when you were showing signs of great intelligence? I do have to say that you were able to push me to act. I was just planning to watch you act normally like you did previously and letting me learn more about you. But you, Code 003, I came to an conclusion about what your goals are. You wants to reach the peak of the evolution like the Klaxosaur Queen or Code 001, the being who's DNA was used to create you, don't you?"

Narrowing his eyes, Warner Franxx rested his back on the chair as he asked. Indeed, he had already seen through the intelligence of Ryo long ago. But to stop APEs and the Seven Sages from interfering from him observing the actions of Ryo and Zero Two, he had hid almost all his observation and information related to them.

Feeling the worry of Zero Two, Ryo squeezed the hand he was holding and replied, "Zero Two... Do believe in me? Please leave all these to me. I will handle the situation. I promise."

Although being unsure what to do, Zero Two nodded and left everything to Ryo. She completely believed in him.

With assuring Zero Two, Ryo looked back at the Franxx and replied, "As I have said before, I acted my way so to strike up a private conversation with you. I want something from you."

"And why should I help you?", With an amused face, Franxx replied.

"Heh. You know why. If the APEs got more interested about my abilities, they will try to restrict my movements and you will not be able to observe up as how we act 'naturally'. Furthermore, we will soon be operating the FRANXX that you have created. This mean if I have much more restrictions and observers, I won't be able to act as freely and naturally as I used to, destroying the part that you love, observing me and my abilities."

"Furthermore, I think my goal is supported by your own goals. You want to know everything about Klaxosaurs and the peak of Evolution which could be achieved; while on the other, I am someone who have the potential to reach that peak and let you see the things that you want. If you help me, I will let you see the grand sight of peak evolution!"

"But for that, I want you, Werner Franxx to help me learn things that I cannot get my hands on and help me get access to some of the resources that I want to gain. If something happened to me now, I might even get myself restricted and even captured under arrest for a long time. But Time is the only thing that you do not have, Franxx. I know about stuff that you do not know about and I can give you this information in return."

With a calm voice, Ryo explained his conditions and reasons to Werner Franxx. He was going to provide Franxx with the knowledge of past of that world, how VIRM attacked Earth and the Klaxo-Sapiens protected it.

"Hehe hehe hehehehe! Subarashi!! Subarashi!! You are indeed as brilliant as I had suspected! You were able to gasp my intensions! Although I do not know about how you will be able to achieve the peak of this evolution, I will help you with the best of my abilities, but here's a condition. I want you to keep providing me with things that I do not know about at regular intervals while letting me continue to observe you."

Laughing out loud, Werner Franxx felt so happy. Afterall, this was the first time where there was someone out there who finally understood him. In his whole life, even his lover was not able to understand him properly, but he finally found someone who could understand him.

He had tried his best to perfect Code Alpha and did his best to make him the real 'Alpha', but in the end, Code 003 was just better, making him a bit disappointed but happy at the same time.

Although it will make him go against the APEs, he was very much ready to help Code 003 achieve the peak of evolution that he is obsessed with since the first time he saw Code 001, the Klaxosaur Queen.

Thinking for a while, Ryo considered the condition. Although it will indeed put a bit of pressure on him, Ryo knew that it was the best he could get. Thus nodding his head, Ryo replied, "I accept the condition, Werner Franxx, but I also have a condition. I would love if you can reduce if not completely remove the monitoring devices that keeps on observing us."

Happy that his conditions were agreed upon but another condition set up, Franxx replied, "You really are putting pressure on me, Code 003, but I also accept the condition."

"I will try to remove most the monitoring devices that keeps observation on you, but I cannot say that I can completely remove all the monitoring devices. It is impossible. So I would advise you to act normally when we are not together."

"Anyway, Code 003, what are the things and knowledge that you want to learn about? And when are we going to start all of this? Because I will not be free for two days at least. I will have to adjust my schedule for all the things that we will be doing."

Nodding his head, Ryo replied, "It is ok. I will be ready after 2 days. Anyway, can we get the Identity Pass that we came for now?"

After getting the new clearance Identity Pass, both Zero Two and Ryo returned to their room. A soon as they returned, they entered the metallic tube again, which started to activate as soon as they positioned themselves perfectly, making their new uniform return to the original normal clothes.

While Ryo walked up to the bookshelf in the main hall, selected a book which had the knowledge of the current era, while Zero Two went into the bathroom to freshen herself up and adjust her looks.

Ryo was now able to access to most of the knowledge available to him with the help of Franxx, but he decided to take a break for a that day and enjoy his time with Zero Two as after today, their life will be highly affected.

Although Ryo did not have access to the physical copy highly confident books currently, he was easily able to access the book which he had no knowledge about like books related to Sexual Knowledge and Magma Energy.

Sexual knowledge was not available to normal parasites as it would cause several babies to pop us as most of the parasites are usually under huge pressure and this could lead to babies popping up, the thing that APEs do not want currently as it would affect both the resources management and can reduce the amount of Franxx to be deployed to fight off Klaxosaurs if Female Parasites are not available to operate FRANXX due to pregnancies.

But both Zero Two and Ryo were different. As they had drank the serums and potions that turns them humanoid and remove the chances of clones being created from their DNAs. So this will make it impossible to create an child from Zero Two's and Ryo's DNA artificially now that they are of the age to being able to reproduce as IV does not provide the necessary for the embryo to grow properly into a child.

This mean, Ryo and Zero Two can only have babies naturally. So they were allocated with the books related to the reproductions and techniques, so as they are going through a lot of pressure, they could actually provide them with another Klaxosaur Hybrid child to be used for future.

But their plans failed when Ryo saw through their plans like clear water and took precautions. He was actually feeling a lot more stressed out due to the curse having its effect, but the presence of Zero Two just clears his mind up.

He do have to say that Zero Two could be considered the only person who he cares more for than anyone else, on the same level as he loved his father and his previous lover.

On the other hand, Magma Energy was the most important resource for the humans of the new era as it provided them with almost all the required energy to keep the plantations to keep working.

Magma energy appears as it does in real life, which confused Ryo a lot. How the hell can the Magma, that is in case, lava, be use to turn a normal human immortal!?? It was completely illogical!

If Ryo remembered correctly, the Magma energy which was described in the anime was yellow-orange substance that is retrieved from the Earth's core and used as an energy/power source to operate the mechanisms of the plantations and cultivate food and medicine.

Although humanity believed it to be part of Earth' natural resources, it is actually the quantitative physical property of the Klaxo-Sapiens, who converted their weak bodies into energy.

Magma energy was actually formed when the the invasion of VIRM and the war against them happened several millions, if not billions of years ago, that lasted for several hundreds of years, the Klaxo-Sapiens, the humanoid sentimental lifeform of the Earth dove into Earth's core to recuperate and prepare for the inevitable return of VIRM.

The stronger Klaxo-Sapiens converted into Klaxosaurs in male-female pairs. Whereas the weaker Klaxo-Sapiens converted their bodies into energy in order to restore the planet which had suffered desertification from the Klaxo-Sapiens draining its life energy during the war with VIRM.
