Chapter 19: Facing Off Against Hiashi Part 1

"Yuki, you are back." Jiraiya put his book away, stood up, and walked over to Yuki.

"Jiraiya, I am bringing Hinata inside. Also, Can she stay here for a while?" Yuki asked while pulling up Hinata's sleeve. Hinata wanted to push her sleeve down in embarrassment, but Yuki held it firmly in place.

Seeing the bruises, Jiraiya frowned. While a kid will get injured during training, the sight before him was not that of some training bruises. He did not answer Yuki right away but instead looked at Hinata. "The Hyuga Clan disowned you right?"

Hinata lowered her head, her eyes becoming red as she nodded. She felt ashamed. Her own father doesn't even look at her anymore. The side family members pick on her and beat her. She has no one. Tears began to roll down her cheeks, but before they could fall, a warm, gentle hand swiped them away, causing Hinata to look up at the girl who was the same age as her. Seeing the care and concern in Yuki's eyes, Hinata did not know what came over her as she hugged Yuki and began crying, crying out all her sorrows. She did not wish to be abandoned. But no matter how much she trained, her ability to use the Hyuga clan's gentle fists was something that she could not get good at no matter how hard she worked.

Every day she worked hard. Every day she was yelled at, and then finally, her father told her she was useless. She would always be covered in dirt and sweat, bruised and battered but no matter what happened, she could never enter her father's eyes. She knew she was bad at Gentle Fists, but she did not understand why she had to be disowned. And after being degraded and beaten every day, This girl around her age suddenly showed up out of nowhere and smiled at her, looking at her with warm eyes. All her frustration was now being released like a river being freed from the rock that blocked it.

Watching the scene in front of him, Jiraiya's emotions were a bit complex. On one hand, he should try to help the Hyuga girl, but on the other, it might cause a conflict with the Hyuga Clan.  He did not want there to be a divide within the village. But seeing the little girl crying her eyes out, he could not just let her go back, not after seeing all the bruises. "Yuki, Hinata can stay here for a while. Do not leave the yard. I need to go see the Hokage."

Yuki nodded her head as she continued to gently stroke Hinata's back. She had no time to answer him because Rukia was raising a fit in her head. "How can someone be so mean to a little girl!? If I was not in your body, I would march over to her parents and stuff my foot in their face!"

[Little Shinigami, relax. There is nothing you can do about it. Little Yuki is doing the correct thing.]

Rukia turned and glared at the fox girl. She just wanted to voice her frustrations. Why was she being yelled at by a stupid fox? Even though she thought that Rukia still went quiet, giving Yuki a much needed break from all the yelling.

Ten minutes later, Jiraiya was standing in front of the Hokage with a serious expression on his face. "What can I do for you, Jiraiya?"

"I came to talk about the Hyuga girl. Yuki found her and brought her home. That girl…. She is so young but being treated ...."

"What do you want me to do about it? I can not ask the Hyuga's to change their ways." Hiruzen interrupted. He felt bad as well, but he could not have an internal conflict happening at this time.

"Then what if I take her under my wing and she stays with Yuki? This way, she can still train in something other than what the Hyuga clan practices. Can you at least allow this?" Jiraiya couldn't sit around and do nothing. He knew that if he didn't do something, Yuki would make a huge scene, and then things may get out of hand. Think this far, Jiraiya added: "Yuki will definitely not let this go if we do nothing at all."

Hiruzen frowned as he picked up his pipe and lit it. He looked at Jiraiya and sighed. "Let's call Hiashi over…."

An hour later, two men walked into Yuki's residence. One was Jiraiya, while the other was a man who slightly resembled Hinata. Yuki was in her room with Hinata. She wiped the sweat from her face as she healed the last bruise on Hinata's body. Yuki had no idea which person would allow such things to happen to their child, but she really wanted to kick them in the shin. "Put your clothes on. I am all done."

Hinata nodded and began dressing herself. At first, she was a bit uneasy when Yuki told her to undress, but now she felt like she was a new person. She no longer felt pain just from moving. She had no idea what Yuki did, but all her wounds were now gone.  "Yuki, thank you…."

Yuki smiled and shook her head. "No need to thank me. We are now friends, and friends take care of each other. That is just how it works."

Hinata was about to say more when a knock came at the door. "Yuki, bring Hinata and come out to the living room."

"Okay!"  Yuki answered before turning to see that Hinata had somehow trapped herself in her shirt. Yuki chuckled and walked over to help her. Once the two were dressed, Yuki and Hinata both walked to the living room. But when Hinata saw the familiar man standing there with an angry expression on her face, her whole body began to tremble in fear. "Hinata, care to explain yourself!?"
