Chapter 138: Level 9 Demon Fighter

Fabreidis’ attention had returned onto Qian Jin. Curiosity and appraisal appeared in his eyes. “It has been about two years, right?” he asked.

“Eh.” Qian Jin nodded, “It will have been two years after a few more days.”

“I could never have imagined this.” Fabreidis smiled, “Are you a Demon Fighter now?”

“Yeah.” Qian Jin shrugged his shoulders, “I was a bit careless and advanced to a Demon Fighter.””

Fabreidis suddenly became serious as he asked, “The fact that you advanced to a Demon Fighter is worth congratulating, but do you know that there are differences between Demon Fighters?”

Qian Jin raised his eyebrows as he answered back indeterminably, “Do you mean the 9 Levels within the rank and title of Demon Fighter?”

This time, it was Fabreidis’ turn to be confused and surprised. There were warriors who advanced to a Demon Fighter and still didn’t know about the existence of the 9 Levels. For example, Glan was one of those warriors who didn’t know that all Demon Fighters were separated into 9 Levels.

“Then do you know exactly how the energy reservoirs condense warrior energy into warrior power?” Fabreidis threw out the second question, followed by the third question, “And how many energy reservoirs do you have? Let me see if your number of energy reservoirs is too low. If it is too low, then I have to break your warrior power and bring you down to a Level 10 Warrior to increase your chance of winning tomorrow. Don’t worry, I will prepare a Warrior Energy Concentration Array for you tonight so you can re-condense your warrior energy and open up more energy reservoirs.”

Qian Jin felt really warm inside. He was touched as he looked at Fabreidis whose first thought was helping him increase his energy reservoirs and improve his future after two years of not seeing him.

“Don’t stand around,” Fabreidis rushed him. “Quickly tell me. Time is something that is very precious to you right now. Never mind! Let me just bring you down to a Level 10 Warrior and teach you the Seventy Two Energy Reservoir Cycling Techniques. You will just have to hand in an enrollment application to the Warrior Union in Yulee State when you get there. This way, you will directly become one of the core members of the union. This will do wonders for your future…”

“No, wait!”

Qian Jin pushed himself backwards as he stomped the ground with one of his feet. He waved his hands as he said quickly to Fabreidis who was walking up to him, “Mine is a One Hundred and Eight Energy Reservoir Cycling Technique…”

“What?” Fabreidis paused his steps as he opened his eyes wider than ever and looked at Qian Jin. “You… What did you say? How many energy reservoirs?”

Qian Jin scratched the back of his head with a bitter smile on his face. This wasn’t because Fabreidis had a low tolerance Level or a narrow view of the world. A Seventy Two Energy Reservoir Cycling Technique was already a priceless treasure to almost all warriors; warriors couldn’t even trade a city made out of gold for a technique like that. However, the sudden appearance of a One Hundred and Eight Energy Reservoirs Cycling Technique would make anyone lose their minds.

“A hundred and eight,” Qian Jin answered honestly.

“Is it really a hundred and eight?” Fabreidis voice was shaking a little bit as he asked, “The technique that activates all the live reservoirs in one’s body?”

Qian Jin nodded.

“A Hundred and Eight Energy Reservoir Cycling Technique!” Fabreidis felt like he was struck by lightning on the head. The number of A Hundred and Eight Energy Reservoir Cycling Techniques was so limited, and these techniques are so rare that he had never even heard the name of such techniques. These techniques only existed in legends.

Fabreidis slowly placed his hands on Qian Jin’s shoulder. But suddenly, an impulsive force blew his hands off of Qian Jin’s shoulders as if there was a huge explosion.

“You…?” Fabreidis stared at Qian Jin as if he saw an undead. “You, are you not a Level 1 Demon Fighter?” he asked.

Qian Jin was actually scared by Fabreidis’ reaction. Before, when his master told him that his improvement speed was so fast that it was sickening in Four Season Valley, he thought that his master was only encouraging him. From the look of it, his master didn’t exaggerate at all.

“I’m not a Level 1 Demon Fighter.” Qian Jin sighed. He wondered how Fabreidis would react if he told him that he was already a Level 9 Demon Fighter and was approaching the peak of Level 9 Demon Fighter rapidly.

“Demon Fighter…. Level 3?” Fabreidis couldn’t be very sure, so he asked in a very open ended way. When Qian Jin’s warrior power fought back as it cycled through the hundred and eight energy reservoirs, Fabreidis felt like that power was around the peak of a Level 3 Demon Fighter, but he also felt like it was similar to a Level 4 Demon Fighter’s warrior power. “Qian Jin isn’t even nineteen years old yet, so being a Level 3 Demon Fighter would already be impressive. If he is already a Level 4…” Fabreidis thought.

Qian Jin looked at Fabreidis’ serious face and felt like he would really scare the guardian of the city if he said he was already a Level 9 Demon Fighter. However, Fabreidis was an elder who treated him really well, so Qian Jin didn’t want to lie to him.

“Ah… Whatever!” Qian Jin sighed as he stared at Fabreidis and said, “If it was someone else asking me this question, I would admit that I’m a Level 3 Demon Fighter, but I don’t really want to lie to you…”

“Could it be…? Are you really a… a Level 4 Demon Fighter?” Fabreidis asked with a very uncertain tone. “If he is really a Level 4 Demon Fighter, it would be very surprising!” he thought.

But when he saw Qian Jin shaking his head nervously, he felt like the sky and land was spinning in his eyes. He took a deep breath and made a bold and daring guess, “You… you couldn’t have already advanced to a Level 5 Demon Fighter, could you?”

Qian Jin shook his head and still didn’t make a comment. Fabreidis had seen Demon Fighters and other warriors that were a lot more powerful than Level 5 Demon Fighters, and a Level 5 Demon Fighter wasn’t any threat to him… But when this number fell on Qian Jin, a warrior who was less than nineteen years old, it was breathtaking.

“Level… Level 6?” The muscles around Fabriedis’ eyes already started to twitch. He didn’t even believe in what he was guessing and saying. “Level 6 Demon Warrior?”

Qian Jin closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He suddenly opened up his arms and let his warrior power ran loose in his one hundred and eight energy reservoirs. The cycling speed instantly sped up to three thousand and five hundred rotations per minute. In the quite mourning hall, Fabreidis was able to use his inhuman hearing ability to hear the buzzing sounds caused by Qian Jin’s warrior power cycling at its maximum speed!

The surging warrior power extended outside of his body as Qian Jin’s body shivered. He fully unleashed his Level 9 Demon Fighter power and the strength from his Wind and Cloud Golden Body; the two girls who stood beside him were pressured and had to take a few steps back even though Qian Jin didn’t unleash his murderous spirit and intent.

“Demon… Fighter Demon… 9? Level 9 Demon Fighter?”

Fabreidis almost started screaming. “Am I seeing the undead again? Is there any logical explanation for this? When I was nineteen, I was only at the peak of Level 2 Demon Fighter. With that, my master called me a genius among geniuses! Then what should I call Qian Jin? A beast among genius, or a genius among beasts?” He thought to himself.

“If he is a bloodline warrior and entered his Bloodline Battle Form just now… Then… that would still be very unbelievable! Too impressive! Even if a bloodline warrior had this level of power after entering into his or her Bloodline Battle Form, that would still be very shocking!”

“Level 9 Demon Fighter! Level 9 Demon Fighter!” Fabreidis really wanted to ask Qian Jin this, “Are you still human? I mean, I have seen a lot of Level 9 Demon Fighters, but you are still only nineteen years old! Having such strength at such an age…”

Fabreidis wondered if he could still sleep at night.

After the initial shock, a lot of ecstasy appeared in his head. “A warrior who has the strength of a Level 9 Demon Fighter at the age of nineteen; a warrior who has the skills of a Forging Master; a warrior who has the Blade Sharpening Skill that no Forging Masters could match!”

“This kind of talent… No!” Fabreidis shook his head, “This kind of genius! If he joins the Warrior Union in Yulee State…”

Fabreidis couldn’t even continue thinking down this path. From Qian Jin’s current speed of improvement and his historical trend, where was his destination? A Demon Capturer? A Demon Slayer? A Demon Extinguisher? He was only nineteen years old! Maybe, maybe he would have the chance to try to advance to a Saint Warrior… The rank which only bloodline warriors could advance to…”

Fabreidis’ breathe was getting heavier and heavier. If Qian Jin could grow at the same speed, and he didn’t encounter any obstacles, his future could be shocking! At least in the short run, if Qian Jin did end up joining the Warrior Union in Yulee State, then the union’s rank would increase substantially in the Warrior Union Ranking made by the Central Warrior Union in Zence Empire. Qian Jin’s forging skill alone would make the Central Warrior Union treat him well, and the Central Warrior Union wouldn’t dare to ignore Yulee’s Warrior Union anymore.

“Ok, you can restrain your warrior power now.” Fabreidis waved his hand and continued, “From now on, try not to show your trump card in front of people, which is your Level 9 Demon Fighter strength. The bloodline families would get jealous of it if they know about this. You are still young, so you might not understand. The most terrifying power in this world isn’t warriors’ strength, nor Supreme Mage’s magic; it is the human’s heart, mind, and intent…”

Fabreidis’ shiny eyes suddenly dimmed and his voice became low-spirited, “Human’s minds… are the most terrifying… Jealousy, greed… They have and still can destroy so many beautiful, beautiful things. Of course, it can destroy a person, or a group of people’s goals, dreams, and families…”

Qian Jin listened quietly. Not a single powerful warrior had a monotonous life; they all hid many scary and shocking stories behind them. He knew that Fabreidis had fallen back into a memory of his past.

“Remember, try your best to keep your strength a secret to other people, especially your enemies!” Fabreidis reminded Qian Jin again, “If your enemies know about it, kill them! Never let them live and spread that information around! Even the most ferocious lion will fall against a large group of wild wolves.”

Qian Jin smiled as he heard that. In both the Endless World and Four Season Valley, the slyness and the intelligence of Demon Beasts weren’t any less compared to humans. They didn’t only know how to set up traps; they also knew how to fake death. Some Demon Beasts would pretend to be fighting with other Demon Beasts and create the illusion that both of them were severely injured; that would attract adventurers and hunters to get up close to them, and they would seize the best opportunity to attack.
