Chapter 19: Zhou Jingze narrowed his eyes: Xu Sui, come over here.

Zhou Jingze didn’t answer either question. He looked down at the video and calmly deleted it. Then, he handed the phone back to Qin Jing and turned around without looking back:

“Let’s go.”

“Hey— ” Qin Jing put back his phone. In a panicked and anxious tone: “I haven’t finished speaking. Or you can just introduce me to her…”

Zhou Jingze walked backstage with his hands in his pockets and regrouped with the rest. They won the prize and got tickets to the Beishan Ski Resort. Sheng Nanzhou’s face was radiating with happiness.

When he saw Zhou Jingze, he yelled, “Jing Jing!” Hearing this intimate call, Zhou Jingze, who was in the middle of lighting a cigarette, felt nauseous and snapped the cigarette.

Sheng Nanzhou rushed over to him with excitement. Zhou Jingze pointed at him, and with a cold tone, he said:

“Try again and see what happens.”

But Sheng Nanzhou was so happy that he rushed over and hugged Zhou Jingze, about to kiss him. When Sheng Nanzhou’s face was close enough to touch him, with half of the cigarette dangling from the corners of his mouth, Zhou Jingze grabbed his wrists and tied it backward vigorously.

Sheng Nanzhou was forced to bend down and cried for mercy: “Ah— ah— I was wrong, Master Zhou, pain pain—”

Hu Xixi smiled and stepped forward. It was a rare sight to see Sheng Nanzhou beg for mercy, “Spare him, uncle. If his hands become useless, who will pay the bill?”

Zhou Jingze smiled and let go of his hands. He seemed to think of something and mentioned: “Makes sense.”

After being loosened, Sheng Nanzhou stood straight up and tidied his clothes, “Of course, we will eat first before going to KTV. I made a reservation at the Flamingo Club.”

“Let’s go there first, uncle.” Hu Xixi grabbed Sheng Nanzhou’s arm and waved at him.

Zhou Jingze nodded and asked: “Where’s Xu Sui?”

“Oh, she said that she had to return something and will be a bit late. Uncle, you can bring her on your way,” Hu Xixi said.

“En.”

Not long after they left, Xu Sui came out of the lounge and ran into Zhou Jingze smoking in the corridor. He was leaning with his head and neck straight against the wall. He took a puff of the cigarette, his Adam’s apple rolling up and down. The white smoke was lingering around his slender fingertips. His eyes blazed like scarlet fire, unsure of what he was thinking.

Xu Sui saw Zhou Jingze and hesitated before asking, “Are you… waiting for me?”

“En,” Zhou Jingze threw the cigarette to the side and stepped on it before slowly walking towards Xu Sui.

She was carrying a bag of things while wearing a white tie-neck dress. She looked as bright as jade, with her thin collar bone exposed like two crescents. She had just removed her makeup, and her pupils were clear, appearing very gentle and pure.

Zhou Jingze looked at her exposed white shoulders and raised his eyebrows:

“You’re not going to change your clothes?”

As soon as his eyes fell on her, she became a bit nervous and spoke incoherently, “My original clothes got dirty. I was planning to go to the dormitory to change. You can wait for me here first.”

Besides, she was a bit uncomfortable in front of Zhou Jingze wearing this kind of clothes. After she finished explaining, she wanted to run away. Just as she was about to slip away like a rabbit, Zhou Jingze, standing behind her, raised his hand and gently grabbed her ponytail. He let out a soft chuckle, and in a gentle and light voice:

“Why run?”

She froze and was afraid to move. Zhou Jingze released his hand and walked in front of her. He took off his coat and handed it to her, casually added:

“Put this on first. ”

Xu Sui shook her head and refused. She remembered his unwilling-to-back-down look last week and reluctantly explained, “But if I wear it, you will become cold.”

Zhou Jingze laughed and said in a humble tone, “If I told you to wear it, just wear it. Why so many comments?”

Xu Sui could only wear it in the end. It was like a child who had stolen an adult’s clothes. She hurriedly said, “thank you,” and ran away. She ran out of the hall, and the wind blew at her. She subconsciously tried to cover her face with the collar, smelling the faint smell of smoke from the neckline.

His coat was still warm, and when Xu Sui wore it, she felt like her whole body was on fire. The heat rushed from her waist to her neck.

She fastened her pace back to the dormitory, subconsciously not wanting Zhou Jingze to wait too long.

She ran back to the dormitory. When the door was pushed open, she placed her hands on her knees panting. Her porcelain-pale face was covered with a thin layer of sweat.

“Sui Sui, you’re back? You were so beautiful on the stage just now. Who knows how many boys in the audience were moved by you,” Liang Shuang commented when she heard the sound of someone coming in.

After catching her breath, Xu Sui straightened up and gave a light smile, “Really?”

She didn’t care much about this and continued: “I came back to change my clothes.”

After Xu Sui changed her clothes, she found a brown paper bag. She carefully folded the clothes and placed them into the bag. When she hurried out, Liang Shuang’s concerned voice was engulfed by the wind:

“Are you having a fever? Your face is so red.”

Xu Sui hurried out again and saw Zhou Jingze from a distance. He changed his jacket and was standing under the streetlamp, playing with his phone.

Xu Sui ran to him and handed him the bag with the clothes, “Thank you.”

Zhou Jingze just put the phone back in his pocket. He bit on the zipper on his side and glanced at her when he heard the words. His tone unclear:

“Xu Sui.”

“Huh?”

“Do you have to be so polite with me?” Zhou Jingze looked at her with a smile.

“I’m not—” Xu Sui thought for a while but didn’t know how to continue. She isn’t dumb and usually speaks clearly. But in front of him, why can’t she say anything?

He pulled the zipper of his jacket all the way to the top, covering his cold jaw, and said, “Let’s go to the front and call for a taxi.”

“Okay,” Xu Sui replied.

They stood outside the side entrance of the campus, planning to walk towards the small alley to the southeast. The old campus was situated on the southeast, and the street lights had to be repaired all year round. A yellow light bulb has already been covered with a net.

The cold wind swirled and rustled the green tree leaves. Zhou Jingze walked in the front and heard a quarrel ahead. He cast a glance at the alley and found that something was wrong. He turned his head around and spoke to Xu Sui:

“Stand over there and don’t move.”

Xu Sui stopped. Although she didn’t understand why she nodded obediently, “Okay.”

Zhou Jingze usually isn’t a nosy person, but he heard a familiar voice. He looked over again and waited. After seeing the other party clearly, he stopped.

Xu Sui also saw this scene and was a little worried about Bai Yuyue. She pulled Zhou Jingze’s sleeve.

“Let go of me.” Bai Yuyue was surrounded by a few boys, her tone impatient.

Those boys were from the vocational school across, and they often drink and fight every day. A yellow-hair stepped forward, interestingly, “Oh, why do you have an attitude?”

“Girl, we just want your contact, “someone asked, changing his tone.

Bai Yuyue glanced at the sky, and her tone was arrogant and conceited: “Just you guys? Are you worthy?”

The contempt and lofty stance in Miss Bai’s words angered them. Their expressions changed, and they raised their hands. Just as they were about to give her a piece of their mind, a harsh and textured voice sounded:

“Bai Yuyue.”

When everyone looked over to see who it was, Zhou Jingze walked towards them with his hands in his pockets and a cigarette in his mouth. The leader Huang Mao unconsciously put down his hand when he saw the incoming person.

“Zhou Jingze?” Huang Mao touched his nose and asked, “Are you two together?”

“Yeah,” Zhou Jingze’s tone was neither hostile nor friendly.

Surprise flashed in Bai Yuyue’s eyes. She immediately leaned forward and grabbed Zhou Jingze’s arm, and with an affectionate tone, “Yes, we’re together. He’s my boyfriend.”

Zhou Jingze tried moving his hands away from Bai Yuyue, but she clenched even tighter.

Huang Mao saw that the other party was Zhou Jingze and said, “Okay. Zhou Jingze, you were quite famous in high school. When you have time, let’s play some rounds of ping pong.”

“En.” Zhou Jingze took the cigarette from his mouth and spit it out.

Xu Sui stood not far away and saw the entire scene, including Bai Yuyue affectionately grabbing Zhou Jingze’s arm. After the person left, she still did not let go. Instead, she stood on her toes and showed a pretty smile. She didn’t know what to say to him.

The light fire at Zhou Jingze’s fingertips was extinguished. To accommodate the girl’s height, he slightly leaned over to listen to her talking, cold and intriguing.

Xu Sui’s hands were clenched together in her coat pockets, and she lowered her eyes to look at the shadow of the two people on the ground overlapped. Her eyes were sore, but she didn’t dare to blink.

After the group of gangsters left, Zhou Jingze set his sight on Bai Yuyue’s arm that was clasping onto him and raised his eyebrows:

“You’re still not letting go?”

Bai Yuyue let go of his arms. But seeing him come help her, she was quite happy. Looking at the direction the group was leaving, he said:

“Why would you get involved with those rascals?”

“Isn’t it because I’m attractive,” Bai Yuyue said proudly and joked contentedly, “It’s a shame you didn’t cherish me.”

“Sure,” Zhou Jingze laughed and said, “I got to go. Have something to do.”

Seeing Zhou Jingze was going to leave, Bai Yuyue hurriedly called him “Hey—” wanting to say a few more words to him. He stopped in his tracks.

“Congratulations, you got first place. Does it feel nice?”

“Decent.”

“I cheered for you off the stage, did you see it?”

“No.”

At first, Zhou Jingze was trying to control his temper and answer her questions. However, she kept asking questions and didn’t want to let him go, so he felt a tint of irritation and annoyance in his heart.

And Xu Sui was still waiting for him there.

“I have to go. Someone is waiting for me,” Zhou Jingze’s voice was cold.

At first, Xu Sui was afraid she would feel sad, so she just stared at their shadows. Later, she turned around and counted the square bricks on the bottom of the street lamp to divert her attention.

Xu Sui was so focused that she didn’t notice a person incoming and ran into him carelessly. The other party happened to catch her, and she apologized.

A joking voice sounded above her head:

“Classmate, you don’t need to give me such a big gift.”

Xu Sui raised her eyes and ran into an unfamiliar face. When Qin Jing saw the visitor clearly, his heart was overjoyed, but he didn’t express it on the surface and introduced himself, “I’m from Beihang, my name’s Qin Jing. I saw your performance at the competition, and it was excellent.”

“Thank you. I’m Xu Sui,” she smiled.

“What a coincidence. In the band you’re in, all the other people are my classmates, except for a girl. This must be fate,” Qin Jing took the initiative and tried to close the distance between them.

The corners of Xu Sui’s mouth curved upward, and two dimples appeared on her cheeks. Qin Jing’s heart scratched with an itch. He looked like a big wolf and continued, “Since you’re their friend, you can also be considered as my friend. How about giving me your contact information, junior? You can ask me for help in the future.”

Xu Sui felt a little funny. Aren’t they the same grade? When did she become his junior? Just as she was about to speak, a warm voice was heard in the distance, and Xu Sui looked over.

Zhou Jingze stood not far away with his hands in his pockets. He narrowed his eyes, and in a low and deep voice:

“Xu Sui, come over here.”
