Chapter 28.1: Put me down first.

After Zhou Jingze said this, the look on Gao Yang’s eyes changed. Xu Sui really thought Zhou Jingze wanted his clothes, so she busily went back to look for his things. The jacket was on the stool, and the candy and lighter were in the pocket.

Xu Sui handed him his stuff. When Zhou Jingze took the cigarette and lighter, he raised his chin at her: “You can hold onto the jacket.”

“Oh, okay.” Xu Sui smoothed his jacket and put it back on the stool again.

“Do you want some candy?” Zhou Jingze raised his eyebrows. Xu Sui nodded immediately, and he chuckled, his voice a little hoarse: “Open your palm.”

The green mint rolled into the center of her palm. Xu Sui’s eyebrows raised with laughter as he spoke. Gao Yang stood there, feeling like a pickled fish that he left after a while.

Zhou Jingze was talking with Xu Sui, and in the corner of his eyes, he caught a glimpse of Gao Yang leaving and sneered softly.

Not long, the game resumed, and as the whistle sounded, the two sides returned to their competitive condition. In the second game, Zhou Jingze was still attacking the basket, but as if the green team was alerted, they were constantly on the defense.

Even so, Zhou Jingze scored five points at the beginning.

As the match dragged on while the green team was defending, one of their guards intercepted the ball. After Gao Yang received the basketball, he dribbled it and threw it to one of his teammates. The teammate broke through the defense and scored.

The team cooperated quite tacitly.

Scoring a point undoubtedly boosted their morale. In the next game, the red team collapsed one by one. Zhou Jingze has always fought alone, but now it was difficult to score points without the cooperation of his teammates.

The cheering for the red team was even louder in the stadium, most of which was towards Zhou Jingze. Xu Sui stood not far away and appeared nervous. Her heart was invisibly anxious.

In the second half, the red team was distracted. The team usually depended on Zhou Jingze to steal, dribble, and score. His teammates followed him in scoring but didn’t carry the same energy.

In the end, the red team lost to the green team with a score of 23 to 28.

One win, one loss. It was a draw.

The third game became crucial.

There were boos in the stadium, all at Zhou Jingze. A player from the opposing team raised his neck and stuck up his middle finger at Zhou Jingze.

Zhou Jingze leaned lazily in front of the railings. His black hair was a little wet with the sweat on his forehead. He glanced at them, and the corners of his lips melodiously returned a sneer.

He didn’t seem to care at all. Instead, he raised his hand to summon his teammates and briefly asked: “What is everyone’s strengths? Say it and divide the work.”

“I’m better at intercepting and shooting the ball,” Zhou Jingze lifted the corner of his jersey and wiped the sweat from the corner of his eyes. He raised the corner of his lips and without any modesty, “Of course, I’m good at other things too.”

Each team member reported what they were good at. Zhou Jingze lowered his eyelashes, and after thinking for a while, he came up with a plan.

The third game officially started. Xu Sui looked at Zhou Jingze, who was dribbling the basketball not too far away; she silently cheered for him in her heart.

When the whistle blew, everyone was surprised, especially the green team. They all thought that Zhou Jingze would be the first to rush over and grab the ball. Instead, he stood in place to defend while his teammates played offense.

The green team panicked and had no idea what move Zhou Jingze was up to. Although the red team player who had the ball didn’t have as good shooting techniques as Zhou Jingze’s, he had been scoring steadily.

The scores of the two teams gradually caught up to one another. In the second half, Zhou Jingze gave his teammates a look and started to unleash his full power. He dribbled the ball with one hand and rushed up with a vigorous step, taking off into the air like a strong leopard. He grabbed a total of three rebounds, one after another!

The audience was silent for a second, and the cheers erupted as if through mountains and tsunamis. The girl sighed earnestly and kept shouting: “Damn, what he just did was too cool! The best in the entire game!”

” Wooo, that got me so excited that I really want to find a pilot to be my boyfriend,” someone exclaimed.

Her friend mercilessly exposed her: “Oh come on, you can just directly say you want to find a boyfriend like Zhou Jingze from the aviation academy– 185 cm tall, can play games, is a world-class cellist, and a great basketball player. He’ll also fly a plane in the future and not to mention how attractive he even is. The amount of incense you need to burn to get such a boyfriend.”

“Woooo, I’m so envious of his future girlfriend.”

Xu Sui looked nervous. The sun was steaming, so she took a pamphlet on the table and flapped it, trying to cool herself. She watched the game seriously while covering the sun with her hand.

The screams around her were so intense that Xu Sui’s heartbeat surged, and she couldn’t help but shout along: “Zhou Jingze, come on!”

“Zhou Jingze, come on!”

After shouting and shouting, Xu Sui felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen as if her internal organs were being twisted. She stopped and sat on a chair. She placed her feet on the bar and covered her abdomen with her arms, hoping to ease the pain.

However, Xu Sui felt that the pain in her stomach was getting worse and worse as if countless fine needles were tumbling around in her abdomen. Beads of sweat were dripping from her forehead, and she couldn’t help but curl up her body.

The sea of people around were all screaming and shouting. There was a fiery red figure running on the basketball court in front of her. His white sneakers shone under the sun. His figure was tall and straight. His arm muscles were smooth, and his speed was faster than anyone else.

He was definitely one of the most attractive players Xu Sui had ever seen on the court, someone who was hard not to look at.

Xu Sui clutched her stomach. Her eyelashes were wet because of the pain; her vision blurred. The pain was so severe that Xu Sui was shaking all over. She couldn’t hold it any longer, and she stumbled and fell.

At the same time, Zhou Jingze had the ball and was running toward the red lines. The sun was shining straight down, and it was a bit dazzling. He squinted his eyes out of habit. When he was about to jump up with the ball in his hand, he swept his eyes across the benches and found that Xu Sui had fainted. There were already several people around her.

Zhou Jingze’s grip on the ball tightened, and his gaze paused. There were excited shouts, and the boy watching the match next to him laughed:

“Can you make that?”

In less than a second, Zhou Jingze threw the ball aside and left the court. There were whispers of questions and doubts behind him, but he walked forward without looking back, running towards Xu Sui.

Zhou Jingze took her from the girl and held Xu Sui in his arms. He hurriedly carried her away from the scene. Behind him were all the insults and pity for him.

After Zhou Jingze left the game, a substitute replaced him. The red team lost their captain and became a mess. Gao Yang led the green team to a successful offense in scoring points, winning the match.

The teammates cheered and ran back and forth on the court with their fists in the air. Finally, they threw Gao Yang into the air and exclaimed, “Thank you, captain!”

“Gao Yang, you are really good. Only you can compete with Zhou Jingze.”

Although Gao Yang was calm, there was a smile on his face, and he was enjoying the feeling of victory. The people in the stadium left the stage one after another. A girl threw her banner on the ground and complained, “What is this. Zhou Jingze was originally going to win.”

Two to three other boys discussed: “Although I’m still not convinced, Zhou Jingze is stronger. This game was a pity.”

“At the beginning of the match, I bet 100 yuan that Zhou Jingze would win, but he actually left in the middle of the game. F***, do all awesome people have a strong personality?”

Hearing these comments, the smile on Gao Yang’s face froze. Why was it that even though he won, everyone thought that Zhou Jingze was the one who won?

Li Sen, a teammate standing next to Gao Yang, put his hand on Gao Yang’s shoulder and looked at the two not far away. He squinted his eyes and recalled: “Why do I think that girl looks familiar?”

“Do you know her?” Gao Yang asked.

Li Sen patted his head and said in surprise: “I remember! That girl was my high school classmate, but we were only in the same class for half a year. She moved away in the second half of the semester.”

“Tsk tsk, she is much prettier now. I didn’t expect that,” Li Sen commented thoughtfully.

Gao Yang looked at the figure of Zhou Jingze running not far away and asked, “What do you mean?”

“Ha, you don’t know this, but when that girl was a freshman in high school…” Li Sen showed a sarcastic smile with a meaningful tone.
