Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Transformation

Jonathan's prime target, Iruka Umino finally finished his classes in the academy. Due to Jonathan's swiftness, as far as he knew, he'd successfully infiltrated the academy undetected.

Iruka was seen walking home. Jonathan could tell from his mannerism displayed earlier that he was bent on becoming a refined shinobi of the leaf. Death of loved ones tended to cause a change in people. Iruka walked to his place of residence. Jonathan knew Hiruzen Sarutobi knew Iruka Umino. As long as Jonathan kept his distance, he wouldn't be seen by the third Hokage's crystal ball technique. Jonathan always assumed he was using it regardless of if the third Hokage wasn't. Jonathan was just that cautious when moving around the Leaf. Iruka entered into his home and Jonathan followed without being seen by others.

A lot of people would probably find it enjoyable sneaking around stealthily like a real ninja. But Jonathan's every movement mattered to him. No matter how small, Jonathan didn't let opportunities slip. How Jonathan walked in this world was like he was on a tight rope. One false move and he would fall into and endless pit that'd lead to his grave.

At the doors of Iruka's home, Jonathan knocked. Iruka asked who it was before deciding if he should open or not. Jonathan didn't answer and knocked again.

"Look, if you're not going answer, I won't feel like answering the door," Iruka demanded.

Jonathan found his boyish attitude amusing, so he knocked again. Outrageously, Iruka slightly opened the door. "What's wrong with…" Iruka tried saying. His mistake was letting his childish emotions get to him. That caused him to open the door. Even an inch was enough for Jonathan to make eye contact, allowing him to place Iruka under his sharingan genjutsu.

Iruka stopped mid-sentence and opened the door fully for Jonathan to enter.

Casually walking in, Jonathan surveyed his home. He didn't find it anything different than what Naruto Uzumaki's room looked like. Jonathan brought Iruka to the living room and began his interrogation.

"What are the seals for the transformation jutsu?" Jonathan asked?

Iruka stated the seals like an obedient servant. One of the techniques Jonathan couldn't recall due to not finding it interesting enough was the transformation jutsu. He knew if he'd like to enact a lot of his plans, a liable disguise would be needed to truly move stealthily.

"Thank you," Jonathan replied with a smile. He then used this moment to ask Iruka any other lower ranked techniques he might have known. Unsurprisingly, all the techniques he knew were either irrelevant or uninteresting enough for Jonathan to bother learning. Instead of exiting the same way he came, he opened Iruka's window and closed it before departing.

"Huh? What was I doing again?" Iruka asked himself after Jonathan left.

Jonathan didn't need to keep Iruka under his genjutsu. He served his purpose and had not remembered Jonathan ever coming. This was sufficient for Jonathan, as he only needed one thing from Iruka. That thing would serve as a basis for Jonathan to move around exactly as he needed.

With his business finished, Jonathan found a back alley. He performed the hand seals accordingly to what Iruka stated and perfectly executed the technique. With Jonathan's advance chakra control, it was more than easy for him to perform it on his first attempt. This technique was undervalued by a large margin. To be able to disguise one's self would serve as a foundation for Jonathan from henceforth.

Transformation technique, a technique that allows the performer to alter their appearance. Its limit was not just to people. The user could also transform into objects.

Jonathan chose none other than to transform into the younger version of the first Hokage, Hashirama Senju. Why Hashirama? No one knew what he looked like in his youth. He grew up in a time where most people had already perished by now. The only people who knew what he looked like when he was little were his family and Madara Uchiha. And they were all deceased. It was only one perfect transformation to use from Jonathan's list of many candidates.

The moment he verified that his technique was successful with no flaws, he made his way to the training grounds. Jonathan still decided to move stealthily. When he arrived, he hadn't seen anyone noteworthy. At times a Chūnin or Jōnin would pass by but neither of them intrigued Jonathan enough. Even if their movements and skills were above Jonathan's, he wouldn't waste his chakra on mere average ninjas.

Jonathan went to his secluded area and began his usual, physical training while maintaining his chakra control. A couple hours had passed and Jonathan managed to maintain his transformation technique throughout the session. Jonathan would have gladly continued but knew from yesterday this was the time Might Guy would come to the training grounds.

He left to where he last saw Might Guy. Just like he presumed, Might Guy was training. Jonathan activated his sharingan and watched intently. His movements were far exceptional than other shinobi his age. From what Jonathan knew, Might Guy was already Chūnin. From the way Might Guy was moving, Jonathan could tell that he wasn't training regularly.

'He's using something special,' presumed Jonathan.

Guy's furious kicks didn't hint out that he was using weights. While his actions didn't have any setbacks. After a few seconds, Jonathan saw Guy perform the primary lotus technique.

The only way to perform this technique was by opening up the eight inner gates. These gates allowed a person to overcome their body's limitations. If only ten to twenty percent of the brain was used by an average man, opening the eight inner gates could make the user use all one-hundred percent. Not just their body but even their chakra would increase to exponential heights. Jonathan's eyes widened as he watched Might Guy train without limitations on his body.

His movements were precise, accurate. No regular man could ever hope to perform such feats. Though Jonathan couldn't activate the inner gates with the sharingan's copy ability, he understood what sort of training he'd have to do in order to at least unlock the first gate. Each gate from the eight inner gates were in correlation to areas in the body. Jonathan knew that because this technique was the strongest taijutsu technique in this world. Though it had a negative side effect. After using a certain number of gates, it would leave the user's body in excruciating pain. While the last gate, the eighth gate, would kill the user after use.

But Jonathan's interest was only up to the second gate, the gate of opening and the gate of healing.

After half an hour of watching Might Guy, Joanthan deactivated his sharingan. Just like yesterday, Guy used his remaining time to do his standard exercises. That included pushups and jumping jacks followed by a run. A very, very long run. Though it would have been more profitable to watch his father, Might Duy, Jonathan wasn't aware if he was alive or dead by now.

The things Jonathan collected, however, were passed his expectations. Jonathan knew of the eight inner gates. The first gate, gate of opening was located in the brain itself. It removed mental inhibitions; thus, allowing the user to go beyond their body's limitations. It was used by Kakashi Hatake to pull himself up while he was doing pullups on the edge of a cliff with one hand. Watching Might Guy with the sharingan, Jonathan also learned his fighting style. This was the same fighting style that would be used by some of the most powerful main characters over the years like Naruto Uzumaki. It was known as the ferocious fist fighting style.

This fighting style could break bones when perfected. Though for Jonathan to do so, he would have to not only grow his muscles even more but also withstand the domineering force it took to unleash it. If Jonathan wasn't careful, he might be able to snap someone's jaw bones but he'd likely break his knuckles doing so.

Everything Jonathan needed was now in his possession. He had a place to safely reside in and an area to train without watchful eyes. More importantly, Jonathan had time on his hands. As far as he recalled, the next thing that should happen around this time was Orochimaru's betrayal. Orochimaru would become the main antagonist for the main characters twelve years from now. He was technically already a main villain because he was performing illegal experiments on kidnapped individuals. And the person fueling his operation was Root's leader, Danzō Shimura.

There was something around this time that would be quite valuable to Jonathan. And he was going to train extensively for it.
