"What's the bad news?" Jonathan asked faking his concern.
"The bad news is that we couldn't find any information on you even without your amnesia. Oh..! That means memory loss." Jonathan was joyful to know this highly reputable staff member known as a medical ninja actually thought he was dumb.
Then what's the good news?" Jonathan asked.
"The shinobi that was here earlier felt bad, so he decided to pay for your medical cost. He also said he would come visit you when he gets back."
This was far from good news for Jonathan. He knew Minato's personality very well. He had a very humble heart and treated people with respect.
"Oh…" Jonathan said feigning his true thoughts. He then lowered his head to consider things. The medical-nin mistook Jonathan's gesture as him feeling. She tried to comfort him with words, so Jonathan played along with a fake smile.
"You look hungry. I'll get you something to eat. I'll be right back."
"Wait!" Jonathan announced before his caretaker left hurriedly. "When will Minato be back?"
Jonathan needed to know this crucial information. The medical-nin wasn't completely sure and estimated Minato would probably be back around dusk. Believing to have soothed Jonathan's anxiousness, she left the room. Jonathan knew that if Minato, a Jōnin, were to investigate Jonathan any further, it would make him look too suspicious. He knew of Minato's capabilities, so he closed the blinds and checked around his clothes and skin to make sure there were no marks or seals. Minato's special ability was to mark any surface and then instantaneously teleport to that marked location. This is how Jonathan and him were able to traverse to the hospital so quickly. What makes his ability so deadly isn't that he could move at the speed of light, but that once he marks a target, that target stays marked.
If Jonathan needed to become the strongest shinobi in this world, his plans required him to covertly operate with as little information on him as possible. And there was only one sure method to doing so as quickly as possible. Firstly, Jonathan needed to how to perform techniques. Secondly, he needed to strengthen his body to perfect this world's method of fighting known as taijutsu. Learning how to hone weapons also wouldn't be a bad choice, but countering them was more of a necessity.
Even though Jonathan had dropped the series years ago, his memory on some of the more important details was still intact. He had multiple locations he could traverse to in order to reach his goals. Any other timeline in this world might have been either too vague or too complicated for Jonathan to work with. In this era the main character has yet to be born and there were a lot of events that would more or less still need to occur beforehand.
The ninja world is comprised of various methods of fighting. But the main method is performing jutsu, another word for skill or technique. To perform a jutsu, one needs to harness this substance called chakra. It can be found in organisms such as people or even plants. Jonathan considers it some type of convoluted way Masashi Kishimoto made to mask as one's own form of energy. Those who can perfectly harness and manipulate chakra can become shinobi (another word for a male ninja). With chakra, one can essentially do anything in this world. Cast illusions known as genjutsu or even amplify their weapons known as kenjutsu. There are a variety of ways a shinobi can fight in this world, but there was one main technique Jonathan had to absolutely acquire before he could enact his true plans.
Jonathan returned to his bed after checking that Minato Namikaze hadn't left a mark on him. He re-opened the blinds and unlocked the windows. A cool breeze blew into the room as Jonathan looked where he was at. To the far right, Jonathan could see the Hokage rock. This rock had all the faces of the heads of the village. Minato Namikaze's head had yet to be constructed, so Jonathan's deduction earlier was correct.
Everything Jonathan had learned over the years of being a fan of Naruto was being shown to him like theme park. Not a single detail was missed. Being on one of the top floors of the hospital, Jonathan could see even the kanji symbol for fire on the academy's building. Whether it was from playing in its virtual world in multiple video game titles or role-playing with his friend, Jonathan was quite familiar with his surroundings. But there was one place he had his thoughts set on. And being in this hospital was not one of them.
