Chapter 1: Prologue

Conquer.

It's a word I have made my main motto throughout my life. Whether it is this life or my previous one.

I was a politician in my past life, not by choice at first though. It was the first choice that appeared before my life to survive.

By 'survive', I mean living the life I want, to be at the top.

It is basic psychology. The most abused ones often become worse abusers, or the best supporters for the cause of abused ones.

It's not like I was abused. I was only giving the readers an example.

I was in a family where I was always overshadowed by my older siblings, so I had come to acquire a strong desire to be at the top.

Well, after many hardships, I became the Prime Minister of my country, constantly for 15 years. 

Unlike one would think that patriotism is necessary, I consider it is not, if patriotism is the thing that most of the people demonstrate.

I can't seem to understand about why would one feel live towards their country, and have so much pride over it.

And by that pride they constantly try to prove that their country is better than others.

In the end, the country is nothing but a boundary we set. Just like the social differences we set in a country.

And we know what happens when there is such boundaries and unwarranted pride that one is better than others. We face many riots within the country, and the two World Wars have already pushed back the advancement.

I had such a hard time in quelling down the stupid people who caused riots in my country simply because one religious leader was arrested, because he was harming the country.

I don't know why my predecessors didn't tie the religious leaders who weild too much power without check, and use the name of religion as they please for their selfish desires.

And that riots didn't shake up my position as the Prime Minister, because I subdued them before they grow too big so that general public doesn't have to face problems.

In my tenure, the riot-caused damages were reduced to about 5% of what my predecessors' tenure.

No one can hold a candle to Gandhiji. How he managed to unite such a divided, complex and large country like India with minimum violence was beyond me.

I am sure that after some hundred years he would be called a Saint and after thousand years a God.

But I have now come to face a situation very similar to him. If it is more difficult or easier, I don't know.

I was assassinated by some fanatic, and I got reincarnated.

Not in a novel, not in another world.

I have reincarnated in medival India of my own world, or a parallel universe, as Sadhri Mughal, a princess in Mughal Empire.

Even though the place and time is different, I am the same. And I will do the same.
