What’re these years mean? It originally means how old the Soul Beast was and their cultivation level before they were killed.

The age of the Soul Ring affects the effects of the Soul Ability such as power, consumption, lethality, and many more.

There is even a possibility that the Soul Master could obtain two different Soul Abilities when they absorbed Red Soul Ring and above.

But, Red Soul Ring or 100,000 years Soul Beasts are super rare.

Having even one Red Soul Ring will make you better than others and become invincible in the same rank. But, there will always be an exception, right? So it can’t be generalized like that.
