"—o great Spirit queen, Glacia Gray."
The woman—Glacia Gray—stared at Kevin with a bored gaze. She looked between the dead layer's guardian on the ground and Kevin, and then sighed, "Really?"
Kevin nodded nonchalantly. "Yep."
Her bored expression turned into a frown. "Flattery won't change what will happen to you."
"Pfffft! It's no mere flattery. I'm just being brave for the newbie over here." Kevin laughed.
Glacia briefly glanced toward Glenn and muttered, "What a shame. He's the most suitable person for your martial art I've seen."
"Heh, I know, right? It would be a shame if I'm killed before imparting all my knowledge onto him."
"Nice try, but I still have to follow the rules."
"Rules that you made and only you enforces."
"Not changing my mind. Should've thought it through before breaking every single rule of non-interference there is."
Kevin clicked his tongue, "Tch, worth a try, anyway."
Before Glacia could take a step forward, Hiro suddenly shouted, "WAIT!"
Much to everyone's surprise, she actually stopped and turned to look at Hiro. "Yes? You have the scent of auntie Lyra, how strange..."
Hiro's face brightened as he skipped toward Glacia happily. "You mean Goddess Lyra? Indeed, I've been chosen by her as a Hero!"
Glacia narrowed her eyes before sighing, "Daddy's not going to like this..."
Not catching Glacia's sigh, Hiro arrived before her and spoke with great enthusiasm, "You're another one of those women the gods sent for me, aren't you?"
"...What?"
He ignored Glacia's look of confusion and continued. "I have to say, they've really outdone themselves this time." He licked his lips greedily. "You're absolutely hot! I can already imagine how cute your moans a—"
Glacia narrowed her eyes even further at Hiro's words. All Heroes seemed to be arrogant pricks, she thought. Lowering her voice to a scowl, she muttered,
{Stop}
As soon as those words left her mouth, the world stopped. Glacia glared coldly at Hiro before sweeping his feet. However, he didn't fall to the ground due to the simple fact that time was stopped. Though, he would, when time was inevitably resumed.
"Now that the 'Hero' is out of the way," Glacia turned back toward Kevin, whom she deliberately gave permission to move in her stopped time, "let's start with the executi—"
"Uhh... what's going on?"
Glacia snapped toward the source of the voice, Glenn, and widened her eyes in surprise. "Y-You! How?!"
Glenn scratched the back of his head in confusion. "I'm... not sure? But is time stopped?" He glanced at Hiro as he said that.
Glacia turned her cold gray eyes toward Kevin accusingly, but Kevin merely shook his head. "I'm not doing anything. I'm just as surprised as you are."
Glacia squinted her eyes and looked at Glenn; soon, she noticed some sort of dark membrane covering his body, and she had an inkling where the membrane came from. However, she decided not to confront him about it, at least not now. But... there was something bothering her.
"Why do you smell like that?"
"Like what?" Glenn tilted his head in confusion.
Glacia took a step closer and sniffed his shoulder; her eyes widen almost immediate as she did so.
"Crap..."
Pacing around and crossing her arms, Glacia thought deeply about how to deal with this. Eventually, however, she decided to just tell him the truth. "Do you perhaps know someone by the name of 'Lilith'?"
Hearing this, Glenn's heart skipped a beat. This woman, whoever she was, could be his lead to finding out whether or not Lilith was alive. Judging by her question earlier, it was even more likely that she was still living! It mattered not if she wanted to kill Kevin anymore, at least, not at this moment. With his body trembling with anticipation, Glenn asked, "Y-Yes! I know her! Does she have white hair and red eyes, like me?"
Glacia closed her eyes and furrowed her brows to recall a certain memory. It took a while, but she eventually remembered it. "Yes, I believe so."
"What do you mean 'believe so'? D-Do you not know where she is?"
"Hush for a bit, will you?" Glacia continued with her attempt to remember before she parted her lips again. "Let's see... she can manipulate blood and... soul, right?"
"Yes!" At this point, Glenn was entirely convinced that the Lilith Glacia spoke of was the same one he was looking for. "Where is she?!"
"Unfortunately," Glacia shook her head with a sigh, "I do not know."
Seeing Glenn's dejected face, she continued, "But fortunately for that soul over there," she glared at Kevin, "I will spare him this time."
"You will what!?" Even Kevin could help but stare at her in disbelief.
Glacia didn't waste any more breaths speaking any further and simply snapped her fingers. As soon as she did so, a small tear in space appeared, and a girl, palm-sized, golden-haired and silver-eyed, emerged from it.
Using her finger to rub the girl's chin, Glacia said, "Lou, can you help me?"
"Of course!" The girl replied cheerfully.
Smiling, Glacia whispered, "I need you to cut the chains binding that soul. Oh, and please conjure a table for 3."
Giggling, Lou flicked her hand at Kevin, severing the chains that were wrapped around his limps with a thin streak of bright golden light. Then, a similarly-colored set of table and chairs appeared right before him.
"Thank you," Glacia said as she made another tear in space, "you can go now. Tell Sylph that I will give you a raise."
"Yay!" Lou exclaimed in bliss and promptly disappeared into the rift.
Glacia shook her head with a smile before turning her attention back toward Glenn again. Seeing him staring at the place where Lou had gone with his mouth agape, she sighed, "She's an Elemental spirit, never seen one before?"
"N-No..."
"Right..." Glacia grumbled. "...Of course he hasn't." Then, she gestured toward the table. "Take a seat, will you? I promise I will explain everything."
Seeing no reason to refuse, Glenn sat down on the table. "I think she means you too, ghosty," he said as he noticed Glacia glancing at Kevin with narrowed eyes.
Scratching the back of his head, Kevin stood up and sat down on a chair; following him was Glacia, who sat opposite of them.
Placing her arms down on the table, Glacia began. "I guess I should start by explaining what and who I am." Seeing the two of them nod in affirmation, she continued, "I'm Glacia Gray, daughter of—"
"A GRAY?!" Glenn screamed in shock.
Glacia, however, didn't understand what his shock came from. Instead, she was frowning at him for interrupting her.
Luckily for Glenn, Kevin intervened. "Ah, excuse him. It's just something the Gods did with the surname 'Gray' that surprised him so much. You wouldn't know about it since I'm sure that this is the first time you've been in the Mortal realm for a few thousand years."
Glacia nodded and reminded herself to investigate about what exactly the Gods did to her surname in the future. After Glenn calmed down, she continued, "as I said before I was rudely interrupted, I'm Glacia Gray, daughter of Theodore and Sylvia Gray."
Seeing that neither Kevin nor Glenn had any substantial reaction to her parents name, she continued, "but less importantly, I'm the Spirit queen. My job is to—"
"Impose ridiculous rules that restricts what souls that attained their freedom fairly can do." Kevin interrupted.
Scowling and glaring at Kevin, she continued, "what your soul friend wanted to say is that I'm the keeper of life and death. My role is to make sure that every souls are passed onto the cycle of reincarnation. Of course, if a soul is powerful enough, it can file for freedom to roam the world."
"With nasty restrictions."
Ignoring Kevin's snarl, Glacia continued with a professional smile. "Within healthy and reasonable guidelines, designed for both the benefit of the Mortal and Spirit realm."
Staring blankly at Glacia and taking all the information in, Glenn eventually asked, "and what does that have to do with Lilith?"
"Ah... here comes the embarrassing part. I might have let a soul slip back into the Mortal realm without proper procedures and binding contracts."
"Pffft! You what?!" Kevin roared with laughter and slammed his face on the table, trying to stifle his laughs. Calming down a bit, he looked back at Glacia, but with a mocking smirk this time. "The great Spirit queen let a soul escape her grasp? Where's your 'unflawed system' now, G—"
"LIKE I SAID!" Glacia shouted over Kevin's voice. "IT'S A MOMENTARY LASPE OF JUDGEMENT!"
Seeing that Kevin was still looking at her with a mocking gaze, she continued, "it was my daddy's fault, not mine. Well, I forced him to go with me so that I can spend a bit more time with him, but that doesn't count!"
""Daddy?"" Glenn and Kevin spoke in unison, genuinely surprised. Kevin spoke up again half a beat faster than Glenn, "You mean like a pimp—"
"No!" Glacia slammed her on the table made of light so hard that it flickered for a moment. "He's my biological father! You're making it sound weird!"
"Eh, okay," Kevin backed up, "no need to be that defensive."
Composing herself again, Glacia cleared her throat and continued, "let's get back to the topic. Since what I did was a breach of protocol and had unwanted consequences, I shall compensate you by acquitting Kevin of all charges related to the... stunt he pulled with the layer's guardian."
Glenn nodded slowly. "I'm grateful that you spared Kevin and all but... why me? Why would you compensate me for something that involved that soul?"
"You're quite slow on the uptake, aren't you?" Glacia chuckled.
"Ohhh! I see now!" Kevin suddenly interjected and nodded in understanding.

"Can you just fill me in? I feel like the stupid one here," Glenn grumbled.
"No need for despair, newbie. I shall explain it to you." Kevin smiled proudly. "Simply put, your 'Lilith' is dead!"
Glenn felt as if his world shattered. His vision began to spin, and he sank back onto the chair with ragged breaths. It took all of his willpower to muster up the strength to gnash his teeth and glare at Kevin. "Then why did you say it with such a bright smile, fucking ghost?! Is the death of my beloved that amusing to y—"
"Calm down, Glenn," Glacia interrupted him with a gentle voice. Her tone hardened a bit as she sent Kevin a cold glance. "Perhaps Kevin has not chosen the right words."
"Hey, the newbie's not a kid. You don't need to mince words for him."
Ignoring Kevin, she continued, "yes, Lilith is dead, and that's an indisputable fact. However, her soul is not."
Glenn looked at Glacia again with hopeful eyes. "...W-Where are you going with this?"
"You might have not remember it, but I mentioned a cycle of reincarnation before. To put it simply, since Lilith's soul slipped away, she can be brought back, provided that you find her a suitable body."
"So does that mean—"
"Yes," Glacia interrupted him, "you'll have to kill whoever is the most suitable for Lilith; body intact though, since I'm sure you wouldn't want her to be revived with an amputated limb."
Gulping a mouthful of saliva, Glenn steeled his resolve once more. "Then I'll—"
"Don't be so hasty," Glacia sighed, "finding a suitable body is half the problem. The other half is... actually finding her soul."
"..."
"She's most likely floating adrift in the Mortal realm right now, or, if she's lucky, haunting an abandoned house or something. Though, if that's the case, then you'll have to pray that no Priests have exorcised her yet."
Taking a deep breath, Glenn sighed, "so my plans remain unchanged..."
It was practically impossible to find Lilith's soul in this vast world. As such, conquering the Abyss and requesting the gods to bring her soul here would be the best option. Although he could request them to make her a new body, he wasn't sure if they would grant him 2 requests.
'Finding a body is a problem for future me. Now, I must focus on conquering the Abyss!'
Staring straight into Glacia's eyes, Glenn spoke, "Thank you. I'm grateful for what you've done for me."
"It's nothing much," Glacia waved her hand dismissively, "it's the least I can do to compensate for my daddy's fuck-up."
"I'll have to say," Kevin interjected with a sigh, "you're much softer than I thought, Glacia. Who would've known that—"
"Ah, I almost forgot," Glacia interrupted him with a devilish grin, "I have to make sure something like this never happen again."
With a snap of her fingers, a quill and a piece of parchment appeared on the table. Kevin looked at the parchment and widened his eyes in horror. "What are you trying to do?!"
"Adding a restriction," she giggled. Picking up the quill, she crossed out some of the bullet points on the parchment and stared straight at Kevin with a grin. "You and Katy can't feed Glenn information that will directly create a disadvantage for his enemies, like telling him when and where the attack is coming from. That also includes abusing your advantage as a soul to spy on anyone." After scribbling some more scenarios on the parchment, she smiled at Kevin again, her eyes curved into crescent moons. "So, do you agree to the change or not?"
"Like what I say will matter," Kevin scowled, "you're going to force me to sign it anyway. Now, give me the quill."
"Hehe, how obedient."
"You sounds like a sadist. I was pretty sure that you're a masochist, considering how loud you moaned when Kate s—"
"The parchment," Glacia said with a slightly rougher voice; her smile faltering for a bit before returning to normal again. "Sign it."
Satisfied that he could put a slight dent on the Spirit queen's smug expression, Kevin quickly signed the parchment and threw the quill at Glacia.
However, Glacia merely stared at the ink and quill that were flying toward her and froze them, without doing so much as move a muscle. "Now let's get you all out before I change my mind."
"Hey!" Kevin shouted. "We're not done y—"
"Bye!"
And with those words, Glacia teleported everyone inside the 7th layer back to the 35th Avenue. Then, she exhaled loudly and sunk back onto the chair.
"Crap, that took a lot out of me."
After spending a few seconds to catch her breath, Glacia stared at the ground beneath her and muttered, "Have you watched enough? Come out now, no one's here."
As soon as she said that, tendrils of murky black emerged from the ground, lunging at her with immense speed. However, Glacia didn't move from her spot. Instead, she merely stared at the tendrils calmly. As the tendrils were just inches from her face, they stopped.
"Haha," Glacia sighed in frustration, "very funny. Just show yourself already."
"Oh? Did I make the all-mighty Spirit queen mad?" A mocking voice came out from the tendrils.
Hearing the voice, Glacia heaved an even more tired sigh, "So it's really you, Marilynn..."
"That's right! The one and only!"
"Can you just show yourself, please?"
"Okay, but... you'll have to do me a fav—"
"Either get out now or I'll pull you out myself."
"Tch, you're no fun!"
The tendrils then intertwined with each other and exploded into a column of purplish-black energy. As the column faded, Glacia could see a woman emerging from it. She had silver hair, much like Glacia's and Glenn's, but her eyes were like two pieces of the abyss—pitch black with a slightly purple tint. The woman—Marilynn—had no shred of clothing on her body. Yet, she boldly approached Glacia with a grin.
"It's been so long..." she said softly as she caressed Glacia's cheek. With her other free hand, she brushed it gently across Glacia's wings.
Glacia shuddered as she felt Marilynn's hands. Her wings were sensitive, awfully so; and the fact that she had to look at Marilynn—who had a voluptuous body with no clothes covering it—didn't help at all.
Eventually, she woke up from her trance and nudged Marilynn's hands away; her cheeks still faintly red from the stimulation.
"Aww... you weren't as excited as I thought. Need I remind you of how loud you gasped when I—"
"It was an one-time thing!" Glacia coughed. "A-Anyway, let's get to the main point. What are you doing here?"
"Of course I'm here to see y—"
"I'm not joking around."
Marilynn giggled and poked Glacia's cheeks with her finger. "Hehe, someone's pent up. Do you need me to s—"
"Marilynn." Glacia spoke with an even firmer tone.
"Fine... I'm here to protect Glynn, or well, Glenn from your time stop. She's my only daughter after all."
"Your WHAT?!"
Seeing Glacia's reaction, Marilynn laughed. "My daughter. You know, silver hair, red eyes, looking for her Lilith."
It took a while, but Glacia eventually recovered from her shock. "Glenn's your... daughter? What? I'm sure he was a man!"
"Jealous?" Marilynn grinned. "I can let you impregnate me if you want. I'm sure you know a spell or two that let you grow a dic—"
"L-Let's not get there yet," Glacia interrupted with a flushed face.
"So you're saying that you'll do it eventually—"
"Just shut up already." Glacia buried her face in her hands in embarrassment. Peeking at Marilynn from the gaps between her fingers, she said, "you haven't answered my question. Glenn's obvious a man, why are you telling me that he's your daughter"
"Oh, you know, pulled some strings here and there to manipulate the Professor. Turns out flipping one's gender is a very good disguise. But then I realized that her power is locked to her female form, so I made the Professor give her genderbending power. Why am I saying this anyway, you don't even know what the Chasm is. Let's talk about something you're familiar with, shall we?" Marilynn grabbed a chair and sat down next to Glacia. "So, how's your old man? I—"
"You're not doing this again," Glacia glared. "Mommy almost killed you last time for trying to seduce him."
"Almost?" Marilynn stared at Glacia, amused. "She murdered me. Well, at least getting ripped out of existence inside a blackhole was relatively painless."
"She killed you, you revived. Isn't that the same thing?"
"Hmmm... not quite. My memory's basically wiped. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have remembered anything at all."
"I see..." Glacia nodded. "...Being the Ego of the Abyss sure does have its disadvantages too, huh?"
"Heh, what did you expect from the representative of the place that the Gods condemned for no reason?"
"Mhm..."
"By the way, you're technically inside me right now."
As Glacia was about to retort, she remembered that she was indeed inside the 7th layer. As such, she jabbed Marilynn's arm as her face heated up. "Shut up! Why do you have to make everything weird?"
"Hey, I don't just make things weird." Marilynn flashed a predatory grin. "I can also make them fun."
