After leaving Ava behind, Glynn looked up and down the tight hallways of the compartment. "Seems like Hugh's going to the tail of the train," she muttered as she saw a trail of smashed doors and dead raiders spanning from the end of her compartment to the tail of the train.

Since the compartment she was in was considered 1st class and thus, was smaller than the others and was located in the middle of the train, she only had one option left. "To the locomotive, huh? Sly bastard, you left the hardest part to me."

But it was still fine since the raiders seemed weak. She could handle them all... probably. 'As long as I don't go too far and encounter the one who probably blew the engine up, I'll be okay.'

Brushing the annoying stray hair to the side, Glynn ran toward the next compartment. As soon as she opened the door and entered the next compartment, she could hear someone calling out to her.

“E-Excuse me…”

She turned to her right to face the owner of the voice - the old lady that had rebuked her and given Ava the candy earlier.

“What is it?” Spoke Glynn with irritation apparently in her voice.

“C-Can you help me with something? I think my bag is stuck in the luggage compartment…”

‘We’re in the middle of a fucking train raid, is she actually senile?’

However, she soon saw a man suddenly appearing out of thin air and raising a makeshift spear up to try and impale her in the reflection of the old lady’s eyes. Widening her eyes in shock, Glynn rolled to the side just in the nick of time.

The spear whooshed through the air, impaling not Glynn, but the old lady instead, killing her instantly.

“Tch.” The man clicked his tongue in annoyance. “Useless. What was even the point of sparing her life if she can’t even distract the other passengers? I even used [Stealth] for fuck's sake!”

As the man went to retrieve the makeshift spear that was made out of a broken part of a seat, Glynn got up again and delivered a quick jab to his face.

Caught off-guard, the man took the full brunt of her attack and was knocked into another compartment.

Taking advantage of this, Glynn fumbled to get to the old lady; not to check if she was alive, nor to acquire the makeshift spear. Instead, she yanked the spear to the side, placed her hand on the old lady’s body, and muttered.

[Unique trait]: Armory of Mirtelaethe

A pale white light enveloped the woman's body as soon as Glynn finished her mutter. Before long, the light subsided, and the woman was nowhere to be seen. Instead, what appeared in her place was a spear that looked like it was of good quality, nothing like the makeshift spear she had just thrown away.

'Good, it's a spear.' Glynn heaved a sigh of relief. 'I don't know what I'd do if it's a longsword. The space's too small for that. But it's still ironic. She died from a spear, and got turned into a spear, heh.'

As soon as Glynn picked up the spear, the man from before recovered from her punch. Using a nearby seat as a handhold, he reached into his vest pocket and took out a revolver. With his shadow looming over Glynn, he aimed the revolver at her and shouted, "Shit! Drop the spear now or else!"

Heeding to the man's voice, Glynn pointed the tip of the spear to the ground.

"Good." The man smiled. "Now drop it down."

"Are you sure about that?"

The man clicked his tongue before inching his finger closer to the trigger as if to warn her. "You'll regret not listening to my words."

"Okay," Glynn smirked. Then, with swirls of bluish-black Shadow mana revolving around the tip of the spear, she stabbed it into his shadow with as much force as possible. "Rest well!"

[Shadow thrust]

"What are you—"

But before the man could finish his words, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. Looking down, he saw a hole on the left side of his chest; the hole was so large that he could put his hand through it. Then, his legs lost power and he fell down to his knees. Forcibly calming down his trembling hands, he tried to take aim at Glynn again, wanting to at least take his killer down before going to hell himself.

However, Glynn had already approached him by then. After kicking the revolver out of his hands, she crouched down to meet his gaze. Her eyes projected her sadistic urges onto him. Unaware of the fear she had just instilled into the man, Glynn drifted her eyes toward the hole in his chest.

"Huh, it's smaller than I thought. Looks like the damage wasn't that efficiently transferred. Hmm... maybe only 15% got through or something."

She then used the palms of her hand to squeeze her own cheeks hard. "Right! I've only learned this technique for a few months. It's unrealistic to expect anything better. And as for you, mister raider..." The corners of Glynn's lips curved up into a smirk. "...Congratulations, you've just become the first person to experience my technique. You can add it to your resume when you meet whoever's in charge of hell, I'm sure he'll like it. Now bye!"

Glynn promptly turned around and made her way toward the next compartment, leaving the man to die a slow and painful death.

...

Glynn ran from compartment to compartment, killing raiders at every chance she got.

'These guys, they're not weak... They're pathetically weak.'

Apart from the guy that caught her by surprise at the start, she didn't really have any trouble killing the other raiders. She was making progress so fast that most didn't have time to react before her silver spear pierced them.

'By the way, this spear is stronger and more durable than I thought. That old lady wasn't really someone important to me so... I guess she was pretty strong back when she was young?'

But her thoughts were cut short by the sudden sound of something thumping violently on the ceiling of the train.

'Someone's up there?'

It was then that her instincts screamed at her to dodge to the side. Entrusting herself to it, she dashed back. As soon as she did so, dozens of tentacles pierced through the hard steel ceiling and onto the floor where she once was.

'I almost died there.'

But that brush with death didn't stop her from counterattacking. Tightening her grip on the spear, Glynn hastily took a step forward and thrust. Blood spurted out as the spear tore through the tentacles, staining Glynn's face with blood. However, the blood had also temporarily blinded her. As she was busy wiping the blood off her eyes, a tentacle moved and attacked her.

The tentacle split through the air, aiming toward Glynn's stomach as if wanting to crush her organs with this one powerful attack. Fortunately for Glynn, she finished wiping the blood before the attack could connect. Briefly widening her eyes in surprise, she quickly held the shaft of the spear up to block it.

"Urgh!" Glynn let out a short groan as she was sent rolling on the floor. Since she had rushed her defensive stance earlier, she couldn't block most of the damage. After recovering from the attack, she quickly stood up again and tried to get into a battle position. However...

"The spear broke! What bad timing!"

...Her only weapon was now broken. Of course, it was still usable since only half of the shaft was broken. But she'd rather not fight with half a spear. As such, she quickly discarded one half of the spear and threw the half that had the blade attached to it toward the tentacles.

Blood spurted once more as the blade of the spear dug itself into the tentacles. Seeing the tentacles wailing around uncontrollably, Glynn frowned. "If it keeps doing that then I can't get close to it nor its shadows..."

As such, she decided to leave it alone... for now, and continue making her way through the compartments.

However, the tentacles didn't share the same thoughts as hers. As Glynn was trying to run to the next compartment, they retracted back onto the ceiling of the train and thrust down where she now was.

"Shit, you're one persistent bastard, huh?" Cursed Glynn as she dodged the tentacles. She then tried to go back the way she came from, only to find another set of tentacles blocking the way. With both paths now blocked, she only had one option left.

'I'll confront that bastard directly!'

Glynn threw herself out of the nearest window. As soon as she was outside the train, she grabbed onto the wall and climbed on top of the roof. The first thing she saw was the majestic mountain range towering over the train and the sun just barely peeking over it. Then, her gaze drifted down toward a man who was staring down at his feet and stabbing tentacles that protruded out of his arms down to the train.

As if feeling Glynn's gaze, the man lifted his head up, retracted his tentacles, and smirked at her. "So you decided to come up here after all. Unfortunately for you, that was a bad decision. My tentacles aren’t restricted by the cramped space here."

“We’ll see about that.”

With her coat fluttering in the wind, Glynn crouched down and quickly grabbed the tentacle man's shadow; Shadow mana converged into swirls in the palm of her hand as she did so.

[Hardshadow]

Then, a cracking sound could be heard as a part of the shadow... broke off and turned into a bluish-black sword; simultaneously, a part of the man's tentacles also moved. It dislodged itself from the flesh that was supposed to keep it intact and moved in the air, mirroring the position of Glynn's shadow sword.

Before the man could process what had just happened, Glynn quickly agglomerated Shadow mana and used [Hardshadow] again. With her hand now full with 2 swords, she stabbed one into the ceiling and continued breaking the man's shadow apart.

It was then that the man finally realized what was going on. Gritting his teeth to endure the pain, he thrust one of his tentacles toward Glynn.

Glynn didn't expect him to recover this quickly and thus, only had to time raise a shadow sword up to block his attack. She was pushed to the edge of the compartment. Heaving a sigh of relief that she wasn't knocked off the moving train, she tried to break apart the man's shadows once more but halted upon seeing that his tentacles were... slightly glowing.

'So he's covering his tentacles with Mana, huh? How did he figure out [Hardshadow]'s weakness so fast? But good thing my [Eyes of Mana] warned me before I could do something stupid like taking apart his shadows again and have my own spell backfire on me.'

Seeing that Glynn wasn't even attempting to break his shadows anymore and was now in a proper fighting stance, the man laughed, "Hehaha... I knew it! You're 5471, aren't you?"

Glynn's body froze on the spot upon hearing this. Forcibly calming her trembling body down, she stuttered, "Wh-what? Who's 5471?"

"Don't even try to deny it!" The man shouted. "I had my doubts at first since you're a girl but then, I remembered that the experiment the professor made Sciencer do on you gave you the ability to change between genders. And the fact that I can counter your Shadow magic only confirmed my guess."

Knowing that the man wasn't going to get convinced otherwise no matter what she did, Glynn dropped all pretenses and spoke, albeit with a still-trembling body. "What are you doing here, 2419?"

"Ah, so the famed 5471 still remembers me after all. I'm touched!" 2419 laughed, unaware of the fact that Glynn had only remembered who he was a few seconds ago, and it wasn't even due to his strength. Instead, it was because of what he did to the other kids with his tentacles in the facility.

Keeping those horrible memories from surfacing in her mind, Glynn spoke again with a cold tone, "Don't let me ask again. What are you doing here on this train? Judging by the fact that you had to figure out who I was, I guess that the Chasm of the Abyss didn’t plan this raid to capture me. So tell me, what are your goals?"

"Eh, the princess of the Arline empire is boarding this train undercover, so it’s nothing much. We're just trying to weaken the alliance by making Arline fight the Manos union. Oh, and if you aren't already aware, we're in Manos' territory."

"I see..." Glynn nodded. "...Is there any reason why you'd tell me all this? Surely, it isn't for old times' sake."

"You're correct." 2419 grinned. "A dead ma- no, a dead woman should have her last wishes be fulfilled.”

"And why would I be dead? Aren’t we old buddies?”

2419 gritted his teeth and anger and his face contorted into an expression of pure rage. “Buddies my ass! Don’t pretend like you did nothing in the Bloody night! And I'll never forget the torture the researchers made us go through just because you and that bitch 712 escaped!”

Seeing that Glynn's face was slowly darkening, 2419 let out a small gasp. Then, he smirked evilly. "Oh, did I hit a sore spot? What happened to 712? Did she die in a ditch somewhere? Or did you sell her to a dirty noble to get money—"

"Her name's Lilith." Glynn's voice cracked.

"What?"

"HER NAME'S LILITH!" Glynn shouted. The shadow beneath her feet similarly trembled in rage. However, they soon calmed down and became static once more.

'Shit! I nearly lost concentration!'

Unaware of her thoughts, 2419 tilted his head in confusion. Before long, he broke into laughter. "Pffft! You're still using the name that spy gave you? How pathetic."

"He's not pathetic..."

"What was that?"

Glynn ignored his question and muttered coldly, "Thanks for giving me time by yapping that trap of yours. I'd have liked to explain what I did while you were talking but... a dead man doesn't need to know."

[Battlefield of Umbrelv]

Instantly, a gigantic bluish-black magic circle appeared in the shadow of the mountain range, and hundreds of shadow weapons protruded their blades out from it; spears, swords, halberds, every bladed weapon imaginable was up in the sky. Some parts of the mountain range were completely erased, but that didn't matter right now as the weapons rained down upon 2419, pinning all of his tentacles as well as his actual body down to the ceiling.

“AHHHHHHHH! I SURRENDER!” 2419 screamed in pain and agony, “MAKE IT STOP PLEASE!”

But of course, the rain of weapons didn't stop there. The weapons continued to plunge down mercilessly onto him, turning him into Swiss cheese. The power behind the attack was so great that the entire ceiling of that compartment collapsed, sending both Glynn and 2419 down inside the train again.

As the dust settled, Glynn dusted her clothes and heaved a sigh of relief. Before she could rest easy, however, she suddenly felt the scar on her right cheek aching. Lightly touching her throbbing scar and feeling something wet seeping from it, she muttered.

"It's bleeding... this is why I don't like overusing my skills..."

As she was about to just call it a day and go back to her compartment, she suddenly heard something whooshing through the air. Immediately turned around, she saw a tentacle heading toward her face with high speed, threatening to knock her head cleanly off her shoulders.

'Shit! I can't dodge it!'
