“Today is the entrance ceremony!
Let’s have fun and be merry in middle school!”
Wakaba was in high spirits from the morning.
Today, she was not with Daiki because she was going to attend the entrance ceremony with her parents.
“I wonder if Daiki will be okay…?
I guess I will find out when I get to school!”
she thought and got ready for school.
Dressed in her junior high school uniform, she went to the entrance ceremony.
When she and her parents arrived at the junior high school, she immediately looked for Daiki.
There he was with his family.
“Thank goodness! I’m so relieved!”
Wakaba thought in her heart.
She hurried to talk to Daiki and greeted his parents.
Wakaba was busy being approached by other friends.
Before she knew it, it was almost time for the entrance ceremony to begin, and first of all, she had to go to her class.
She was in class D, and Daiki was in a different class from hers.
“I wonder if Daiki will be okay if I’m not with him?”
With what a thought, she entered the class, listened to the explanation of the entrance ceremony, and moved to the gymnasium.
The entrance ceremony ended without incident, and that was the end of the day.
Before leaving, she ran to find Daiki and said to him
“I couldn’t be in the same class with you.
But we can go together in the morning.
It’s not much different!
Let’s go home together until club activities start!”
And so, she told him that she was going home with her parents today.
To celebrate her entrance into the school, they went out for dinner at night.
Wakaba has a good relationship with her parents and they are both cheerful, so they had a good time and went home.
Tomorrow she would pick up Daiki again, so she got ready for school and went to sleep.
The next day after breakfast, she got ready for school and headed to Daiki’s house.
Daiki had a gloomy look on his face, but he greeted me properly.
Daiki’s mother stopped her.

“Waka-chan, I’m sorry…
Out of the blue, we are divorcing.
So from today, Daiki and I will be living together.
…
I’ll talk to Daiki today, so if anything happens, please support him…
I’m sorry, but I’m counting on you.”
She said apologetically.
“I’ll take care of it!”
She responded firmly.
For Wakaba, it was a matter of course to support Daiki.
As they walked to school, she said
“Daiki, it’s been a hard day…
…
But your relationship with me won’t change!
It will be fine and have fun as usual!”
She cheerfully told him.
After arriving at school, having a casual conversation until splitting up in front of the classroom, she asked herself
“I wonder if Daiki will fit in with his class?
If not, I’ll take care of it!”
She secretly made up her mind.
Wakaba herself fit into the class without any problems, and before she knew it, she had become the center of the class.
She was curious to see how Daiki was doing, so she quietly peeked into the class next to hers and found that there were some friends from the same elementary school as him, so he seemed to have adjusted to the class safely.
It was a relief for the time being.
On the way home, she and Daiki walked home together and talked about their classes.
Daiki said
“I think I can get along with everyone!”
So it seems that there is no need to worry at school for now.
What happens at home, though, is a matter of concern.
First of all, Daiki’s mother
She said she would talk to him today, so Wakaba had no choice but to wait until tomorrow.
