The gentle wind was still blowing down the hill, but when Rein blinked again, a thick white fog suddenly appeared and descended the hill.

The fog descended at a high speed, and Rein didn't even have time to react. When the fog reached the Torii behind him, the gentle wind that had been blowing suddenly disappeared without a trace.

"Did I enter Isekai? I mean..." said the confused Rein.

Without knowing the cause, the thick white fog descended and covered the entire area.

Rein couldn't see the hill plains covered in moss and shrubs anymore, as they were swallowed up by the fog. Even the Sakura trees growing on the hill were swallowed up in half by the fog.

The only exception was Rein, who was standing on the stairs. But, he couldn't see the slightest mound of the stairs that led to the top anymore.

"Only three stairs?" Rein said, turning his head in disbelief, right now he could only see the first, and second that he was to stand with, and the third stairs in front of him.

The other stairs seem to have disappeared, swallowed up by the fog.

❝ Proceed or return, everything will have an impact on your future ❞

"I understand," Rein said after hearing the invincible woman's warning once again, 'It seems like we're only given two choices.'

"Then—I WILL STOMP YOU TILL THE END!!"

—BUMP!

Rein stomped his foot harshly on the third step. He wasn't angry or anything else; he just wanted to lift his motivation that was starting to fade with each passing second.

[ Successfully reached the 3rd step of Senri Kaidan ]

Rein was initially calm after stepping on the stairs because he managed to release the stress in his head. However, there's always something going on no matter what he does

❝ A sign of sharp courage, We are proud to have descendants like you in this place ❞

Another's voice spoke in Rein's ear. It was the voice of an old man who is usually sitting enjoying the small garden at his house with a cup of warm drink.

❝ I wish you success on the Senri Kaidan and that you may be able to understand the purpose of life ❞

"THE ANCESTORS' VOICE!! I KNEW IT!"

—PING!

Suddenly, another screen appeared in front of him...

[ You will be transferred to the 99th Senri Kaidan ]

"What does it mean? I'm in third, how come it's 99th—wait! Is that because of ancestors—"

[ (2940) Mana will disappear in (60) seconds! ]

Another harsh reality comes as Rein is flabbergasted when the screen appears. His eyes widen and he begins to shed tears of helplessness. "Wait! My Mana—Oh!'

"Open profile!" Rein spoke hurriedly, wanting to check how much mana he has.

[ (!) The Profile feature is unlocked after entering the Training Zone ]

"Huh? Locked?!" Rein immediately tried to find a solution in his mind, 'Show the hidden power you have, Brain!' he mentally urged his tissues and organs.

Rein kept suppressing himself until a memory flashed, 'Right! Kiara once said something about this... what was it called?!' A small smile appeared on his lips, pleased that the time he spent listening to the girl talk had other benefits. 'Oh!' he exclaimed.

"Open...Status? Yes, Status!" He said it happily and hopefully, though not too sure.

[ (!) The Profile feature is unlocked after entering the Training Zone ]

"Oh."

After the screen appeared, Rein lost hope. His sturdy shoulders suddenly drooped and his emotions changed quickly. "Huh...," His sighs could be heard from 10 meters away.

Rein had given up and his head was now filled with complaints that he was too lazy to express aloud.

The only thing he could think to ask was, "Actually, how Mana do I have?" his energy seemed to disappear.

—Ping!

The voice woke to Rein up again. He suddenly held his breath while trying to understand the contents of the screen.

[ (!) You have (591) Mana ]

"Seriously?" Rein wiped the tears from his cheeks and let out a weak voice.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier, Suvice?!" He was furious, like a little boy who didn't get the toy he wanted for his birthday.

[ (!) Suvice will provide facts if asked! did you ask before? ]

Rein was surprised by the reply he received, "You're right, I didn't ask...."

Another fact about Suvice came to his mind, "No wonder you're useful to 99% of players." This made Rein eager to find a way out using Suvice properly in the game.

However, before he could do that, he remembered something that was still nagging at him. "But didn't you supposed to warn me too?!"

[ (!) Suvice does not detect any dangers that could potentially kill you ]

"Huh? What happens when my Mana runs out? I'll die, right?" He asked hurriedly, as time was running out.

[ (!) There are many conditions.

If your Mana drops below your Base Mana:

◊ (-1%), your body will weaken.

◊ (-5%), you will feel dizzy.

◊ (-10%), you will become paralyzed.

◊ (-35%), you will start bleeding. ]

After reading the list, Rein was shocked. His heart began to race as he quickly understood the consequences of his low Mana.

"My Mana will disappear in 2,940! Can't I die from bleeding?" Rein asked worriedly, but Suvice seemed unfazed.

[ (!) Your mana is still (591) ]

[ (!) If you get the Bleeding effect from using too much Mana. Suvice must have warned you before that happened! ]

[ (2940) Mana will disappear in (45) seconds! ]

"Yes, I know!" Rein said, feeling emotional and cornered. "If I have less Mana, I have to charge more than 2,000 Mana, right?!"

[ (!) Rein has Mana Regeneration (+56.85/min) or (+0.94/sec) ]

[ (!) To replenish 2,000 Mana, it takes (40) minutes! ]

"No wonder she always complains about her abilities being limited by that," Rein thought, recalling the story Kiara had told him a few months ago about his Mana Regeneration, which was also a problem for other players.

"A real torment! I'm getting hit with my luck so quickly..." Rein couldn't stand the crazy reality anymore.

"I won't be able to endure it. Can I get out of here? Proceed or return right?" Rein thought of the words that floated before him as he stepped on the third ladder. Then he stepped back down the stairs.

—Tuk

His limp left foot stepped on the steps behind him.

❝ You can't back down while the ritual is being performed ❞

[ Access Denied ]

[ (2940) Mana will disappear in (30) seconds! ]

Rein lowered his head, speechless at this fact. All he wanted now was to leave this place as quickly as possible, "Dead or alive? I don't care anymore."

His enthusiasm for playing, which had soared from the start, was shattered by the sudden threat of death.

His plan to play as comfortably as possible to maximize his performance in the game was ruined by the Special Quest that was thrust upon him.

Despite trying to handle everything that happened as best as he could, Rein made small mistakes that shouldn't have happened. Now he is trapped between death and death.

❝ Senri Kaidan does look difficult. However, don't be sad... ❞

❝ Don't feel alone, we are here with you ❞

Rein was struck by thunder at the sound of those voices, "Ancestors, did you all come to this place just to support me?"

❝ We always watching you from far away ❞
