Chapter 532: Chaotic Battlefield

At the same time that the chaotic battle inside the Azure Sky Kingdom was coming to an end, Chu Yang had already begun his journey towards the Small River Town inside located somewhere inside the territory of the Flying Sword Sect.

During the journey, Chu Yang had found out that they were actually escorting the luxurious carriage that he had seen being followed by the large group of old Core Formation Realm cultivators. How the person inside the carriage had managed to deal with so many Core Formation Realm Experts, Chu Yang had no idea, and he didn't plan to try finding out either.

In his eyes, just being able to get back to the territory of the Flying Sword Sect again was more than enough for him!

Even if his job was to help protect the luxurious carriage currently located in the middle of a small caravan, it was mostly decided to be done in shifts. Having two people at the Core Formation constantly around the luxurious carriage, while the others would relax as they made their way towards the Small River Town.

As luck would have it, Chu Yang was not among the two Core Formation watching over the luxurious carriage and he had decided to relax in one of the carriages following behind.

"Hah…" Letting out a sigh as he thought about this, Chu Yang could not help feeling that his trip outside the sect had been a complete failure so far. Not to mention visiting a famous place for training and opportunities to increase his cultivation realm, he had spent all of his time so far travelling!

At least he should be able to do something more exciting after returning to his sect's territory. Maybe he would finally be able to visit one of the famous demon beast forest or ruins after returning…

"Hm? Did something happen?"

Suddenly realizing that the caravan consisting of around a dozen or so carriages had come to a stop, Chu Yang could not help frowning as he jumped off the carriage he had been sitting in since the start of the journey and began moving towards the front to check out what had happened.

Even if he just wanted to stay inside the carriage and slack off during the journey to the Small River Town, he at the very least had to show his face whenever something happened.

With this in mind, Chu Yang quickly made his way to the front of the caravan to see what was happening. Not too worried about the situation, as he didn't hear any sound of fighting up ahead.

If there really was a fight taking place, he would first of all not rush forward and would instead try to find out just how strong the opponent was before determining whether to help out or escape in case the opponent was too strong…

"We can just move around, there is no reason for us to get involved in whatever is happening over there!"

"If we do that, we will at least add half a day extra to the journey! I think we should ask what the boss thinks first…"

Arriving at the front of the caravan, Chu Yang ignored the group of people that had gathered to discuss among themselves, as he instead focused his attention on the thing that had caused the caravan to come to a stop.

"Just how chaotic is this place…"

Muttering this to himself as he gazed towards the battlefield that had formed just in front of him, Chu Yang could not help recalling just how many such battles he had encountered after having left the territory of his sect.

The territory that had once been under the Raging Flame Sect had truly ended up chaotic after the Raging Flame Sect had been destroyed… Just the battle taking place in front of him involved several thousand different cultivators, with no small number of Core Formation Realm Experts present!

Among one of the two forces on the battlefield, Chu Yang even managed to spot a few familiar figures, some belonging to the Simen Sect that he had seen after having entered the chaotic land, while a few others belonged to the Mapai Sect that they had been fighting against.

The Core Formation Realm Expert that he had chatted with back then was also present on the battlefield, as he worked together with the still injured leader of the Mapai Sect and several other forces to fight against the Simen Sect and the forces that had joined together with them.

Did the battle really last for over a day before evolving into this mess…?

Frowning a bit to himself as he realized this, Chu Yang could not help feeling a bit of pity when he looked at the exhausted figures belonging to the Mapai and Simen Sects. After all, they had been fighting for over a day by now! Even if they were cultivators and had far better stamina compared to mortals. Fighting for over a day would inevitably exhaust them….

"Hey, isn't that the Mapai Sect… And the Simen Sect as well!"

Hearing one of the people standing in front of him call out loudly as he seemed to have recognized the two sects fighting on the increasingly large battlefield, Chu Yang wondered just how famous these two relatively weak sects were.

This feeling only deepened when he saw everyone standing around him seemingly knowing about the two sects after they recognized that they were in the middle of the chaotic battlefield in front of them. Among them, there were even some who wanted to rush forward and help out either the Mapai Sect or the Simen Sect!

Please don't force me to join that mess…

Sincerely thinking this as he stared back towards the luxurious carriage located at the centre of the caravan, Chu Yang wanted nothing more than to avoid the mess taking place in front of him.

Even if he was at the Core Formation Realm, the battle taking place in front of him was not something he wanted to take part in. Especially considering the fact that he had counted over thirty Core Formation Realm Experts in the middle of said battle, with at least five of them at the later stages of the Core Formation Realm…

Creak~

Just as he was nervously looking towards the luxurious carriage, the door leading inside the carriage opened, as the familiar servant he had seen before walked out. Soon arriving at the front of the caravan where he and most of the others were located.

"Hm… This is quite troublesome; we need to reach the Small River Town before-" Muttering something to himself as he looked over the chaotic battlefield in front of the caravan with a troubled expression on his face, the servant seemed to have come to a decision as he stopped mid-sentence.

Listening from the side, Chu Yang could not help feeling that the servants train of thought was going in a bad direction…

"We will continue forward, try to move along the edge of the battlefield and try your best not to get involved in the fight! Inform everyone to be ready to fight in case someone tries attacking us during this time!"

Hearing what the servant said, Chu Yang could not help cursing him inside his mind.

Moving so close to a chaotic battlefield like the one in front of them, they would inevitably end up getting hit by some of the attacks that were thrown all over the place…

"Hah…" Letting out a sigh as he realized this, Chu Yang made his way back towards the carriage he had been spending his time inside of during the journey. However, instead of entering the carriage to cultivate or relax, Chu Yang sat on top of the carriage so he could react in case an attack happened to fly towards the carriage!

Looking around at the rest of the people inside the caravan, Chu Yang could not help frowning upon realizing that none of them acted with even the slightest bit of cation. Instead, they acted more excited at the possibility of finally getting some 'exercise'…

Among them, there were even a few that openly talked about trying to antagonize the people on the chaotic battlefield, as they wanted to join the fight to help either the Mapai Sect or the Simen Sect.

"Looks like I won't be able to avoid joining the fight unless I run away…" Shaking his head as he almost whispered this to himself, Chu Yang could only prepare for the inevitable battle he would be forced to join.

After all, he still needed someone to help him get back to his sect's territory and he highly doubted that the owner of the luxurious carriage at the centre of the caravan wanted to join the fight taking place in front of them.

The main reason why he thought this, was because of what he had heard the servant mutter to himself before deciding that they would be moving along the edges of the chaotic battlefield…
