Chapter 555: The Young Master

"Thanks for the help during the journey, I will have to report what happened during the escort mission to the Explorer Union and I hope you will be able to help continue to look after my master during this period of time. Don't worry, I will of course pay you for this!"

"No problem at all."

"Great! I will be back shortly!"

Having reached the Explorer Union, Chu Yang waved goodbye to the servant as he entered the Explorer Union branch in the Small River Town before jumping back on top of the luxurious carriage.

Watching over the carriage for the servant while he reported the people who had run away during the escort mission to Explorer Union should not take too long and Chu Yang did not feel reluctant to do this in the first place. Especially considering that the servant would pay him for it!

After all, he still needed spirit stones for his travels considering that he had lost all the spirit stones he had on him only a little over a week earlier…

"Hm… I wonder who the young master of the servant is…" Sitting on top of the luxurious caravan, Chu Yang could not help looking down at the carriage beneath him as he started to feel a bit curious about the identity of the young master that he was protecting.

Even after having travelled together for around a week, he had still not managed to see the shadow of the young master that the servant was protecting!

Not to mention seeing the young master, he had never heard anything from the luxurious carriage while staying on top of it during most of the journey to the Small River Town. Making him believe that there was likely some sort of silencing formation in place on the luxurious carriage. Preventing anyone from listening to what was said on the inside.

Thump!

Standing up before jumping down from the carriage, Chu Yang turned around to face one of the luxurious carriage's doors-

Knock knock~

Before gently knocking on the door. Hoping that he would be able to get a chance to see the young master of the servant hiding away inside the carriage.

"…"

However, even after waiting for a good fifteen minutes. Nothing happened, as the young master inside the carriage did not show himself.

Having already grown bored waiting after the first five minutes had passed, Chu Yang returned back to the roof of the carriage to wait for the servant to return. Not expect for the young master to show himself.

Creak~

For this reason, Chu Yang could not help feeling a bit shocked when he suddenly heard the carriage door below him starting to open all of a sudden.

Leaning over the roof of the carriage to look down towards the carriage door that had just been opened, Chu Yang could not help feeling surprised upon witnessing a young boy no more than 10 years of age peek his head out from the carriage before beginning to survey his surroundings. Clearly looking to see if the person who had knocked on the carriage door just a few minutes earlier was still around.

"H-hello…?" Not spotting anyone in the area around the carriage, the young boy called out as he continued looking around for any response. Not looking up to see Chu Yang inspecting him from the roof of the carriage.

"…" Not saying anything as he continued inspecting the young boy, Chu Yang could not help sighing in amazement upon noticing at least a dozen different artifacts strapped onto the young boy's body.

Not only that, but the artifacts were not low-level artifacts in any way and would be more than enough to even prevent him from harming the young boy… To be honest, Chu Yang had a feeling that even someone at the Nascent Soul Realm would have a difficult time trying to break through the artifacts that protected the young boy!

Just where is this young master from…?

Feeling himself growing even more curious about the young boy's identity after seeing all the artifacts he carried on him, Chu Yang quickly went through the different powers with Nascent Soul Realm Experts inside the Flying Sword Sect's territory and what had once been the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

However, he couldn't come up with one that could hand over so many precious defensive artifacts to a young boy barely reaching the age of 10…

As he thought about this, Chu Yang realized that the young boy was most likely the young master of some sort of power that existed outside what had once been the Heavenly Sky Kingdom. Not only that, but he should also belong to a relatively strong power given the powerful defensive artifacts he could wear!

Thump!

Not waiting around any longer after having finished inspecting the young boy, Chu Yang jumped down from the roof of the carriage before landing directly in front of the young boy. Shocking him silly as he rapidly retreated back into the carriage.

"Y-you are…?" Cautiously poking his head back out after a few seconds, the young boy could not stop himself from asking this, as he was curious about the person who had suddenly dropped from the sky before landing in front of him.

"Chu Yang, your servant told me to watch over you during his absence." Saying this, Chu Yang made sure not to sound threatening as he waited for the young boy to introduce himself. Hoping that he would be able to get some clue about where he was from through his name.

"I-I see… I'm- Ah!" Nodding his head in understanding, the young boy was just about to introduce himself when he suddenly seemed to remember something as he quickly stopped himself before saying his name.

Haa… Looks like he was told not to disclose his name…

"Don't worry about telling me your name." Feeling a bit disappointed upon realizing this, Chu Yang gave up on finding out the young boy's name, as he quickly reassured him it was fine.

"O-okay…" Fiddling around with his hand nervously, the young boy clearly did not feel comfortable after having realized that he could not properly introduce himself.

Looking at this from the side, Chu Yang could not help feeling bad about having caused the young boy to be in such a situation, as he soon managed to get him back into the carriage. Knowing that he would likely not be able to get any useful information from the young boy.

As for doing it forcefully… Not to mention the artifacts he had protecting him and the servant inside the branch of the Explorer Union just a few meters away from their current location, Chu Yang had no plans to randomly become enemies with someone who most likely belonged to a rather powerful sect, clan, or kingdom.

"Hm? You are back?" Just as the young boy had returned to the carriage, Chu Yang spotted the servant exiting the branch building of the Explorer Union before making his way over with a frown on his face.

"Yes… Here is your payment for escorting us, you don't need to go enter the branch, I also added some extra for helping me look after the carriage for the last 20 minutes." Clearly not in a good mood after having left the branch of the Explorer Union, the servant threw a small pouch towards Chu Yang before entering the carriage to check on his young master.

Creak~

Coming back out from the carriage only a few seconds later, the servant placed himself in the seat of the coachman and soon enough, the luxurious carriage disappeared into the large crowd of people on the street in front of the Explorer Union branch.

"…"

Looking in the direction that the carriage disappeared in, Chu Yang could not help wondering what had caused the servant's mood to turn so bad in only 20 minutes.

Did something perhaps go wrong during his conversation with the people from the Explorer Union?

Thinking this, Chu Yang turned his attention towards the branch building located just a few meters away.

The building itself was way better decorated compared to the one he had encountered in Flame Mountain City. Not to mention, upon closer inspection, the branch building was also way bigger than the one in Flame Mountain City!

Given how large the branch was, did this not mean that there was some sort of ancient ruin or dangerous demon beast infested area nearby!?

As this thought occurred to him, Chu Yang decided to make his way inside the branch building and ask around to see if there really was some sort of ancient ruin or demon beast infested area nearby.

If there really was, it would be a good opportunity for him to train and look for opportunities to increase his strength!

Not to mention, it would be easier for him to find the places if they were nearby…

Swoosh~

With all of this in mind, Chu Yang entered the large branch building belonging to the Explorer Union.
