“Slowly and silently” On the 4th layer, there were 2 staircases leading down while the floor was riddled with holes. It was easy to imagine that every one of these would connect to a different location within the 3rd layer, so I’ll be postponing that for now. Also, the Poison Spitting Rats weren’t paying any attention to me. If I wanted to just head over to the 5th layer to explore, I could move while hiding myself behind cover to remain unseen. “Hmm, I see……” As I was proceeding along, I took notice and memorized the location of the holes that were tightly guarded by multiple Poison Spitting Rats. It could’ve been a simple coincidence, but it’s not like there was any harm in making sure. “Now then, the 5th layer…… appears to be in ruin.” I continued to probe the area before coming across a single ascending stairwell and I squeezed through the fractured part of the wall. I set forth to the 5th layer. The 5th layer was…… relatively demolished. Most likely, it was probably ravaged by the giant jet-black bird that appeared the other day. The ceiling was practically gone aside from a small section that belonged to the former rooftop. The walls were largely crumbled while the floor had holes that appeared to have been widened and hollowed out from above.
And of course, as if that wasn’t already enough, there was rubble scattered about as well.
“I suppose I should refrain from inciting any unnecessary fights, huh.” I started to examine the 5th layer as I hid myself from the Poison Spitting Rats. But frankly, there’s almost nothing left to do besides defeating the Poison Spitting Rats and collecting their items, so I felt like there wasn’t anything in particular to see here. “Hm? Is this…… an antenna?” However, in the middle of that, I ended up laying eyes upon an exceedingly valuable item. It was a combination of metal rods arranged into the shape that was akin to a fish’s bones. It’s the antenna of a TV. This is only a guess, but…… maybe this was supposed to be the one installed on the building’s rooftop? I didn’t know what the roof of this 50 meter building was like, thus I can’t really say for sure. “I’ll give it a quick appraise.” Well, at any rate, it didn’t break down when I picked it up or anything, so I appraised it. △△△△△ Antenna Level : 1
Durability : 100/100 Interference : 100 Corruption : 100/100 Abnormalities : 1 An antenna that is used to receive electromagnetic waves. ▽▽▽▽▽ “This doesn’t appear to have any sort of notable suspicious curse on it, so it should be fine to take.” I mean, I was a bit skeptical about it since it was an antenna. My worry was that I was concerned over getting radio waves from some kind of dangerous enemy.
It does seem to be okay though. In any case, it was metal rod with a long handle and moreover, it had the so-called valuable property of being light in terms of weight. If I crammed something inside of it, I could also exchange the lightness of its weight for more strength, or I could compensate for it through use of a curse. At the very least, it definitely has its uses, so I stored it inside of the fur bag. “Now…… it doesn’t seem like there’s any other items that could be of use around here.” Unfortunately, there weren’t any more distinct items in the 5th layer.
“Anyways, let’s get rid of the isolated enemies first.” With that said, I interrupted the resting Poison Spitting Rats in the 4th and 5th layers, bringing them down one-by-one using either『Taruwiveno』or the tooth knife. Then, as I was defeating them, I collected 3 cadavers that looked to be especially in good condition and placed them in the fur bag before going back to the safety area. “Dismantling complete.” Anyhow, I finished up with the dismantling of the Poison Spitting Rats. The items I obtained were…… well, just the usual. For now, I disposed of all the meat through consumption of it. The meat that I’d left out earlier to imitate preserved food…… ended up drying out in a strange manner, so I buried it in the moss of the dangling meat fern flower without giving it much thought. If all goes well, the blood that will spread out throughout the floor could probably be used as nutrients for the dangling meat fern flower. “I wonder what I should do with this antenna.” I took the antenna out of the fur bag and held it using both hands. Then, I tested it by lightly waving it around from the confines of the safety area. I swung it horizontally, vertically, thrusted it, made a sideways rotation, and tried out other various movements. After briefly swinging it around, I came to a conclusion. “As expected, regular weapons are impossible for me.” This levitation curse allowed me to step off of something, but not on it. Since I couldn’t plant my feet and body to the ground, for a sharp weapon, I would need it to be honed enough to where I could cut something by simply coming in contact with it. If its a blunt weapon, I need something that would exert enough power through means of just momentum.
Still, even if I made use of a curse, it’s unlikely that I’d be able to develop a weapon sharp enough to cut anything it touches. In the case that its a blunt weapon…… Should I try utilizing its centrifugal force? For the time being, I guess I should just search for a variety of things in real life regarding ways to either deal with this problem or to get around it.
“Tomorrow, I’ll have to attend a lecture in university before going back home to play, so…… I won’t be in the game for at least half of the day.” I began planning my schedule for tomorrow and after. I wasn’t a part of any circles in particular, so I had quite a bit of free time. If I searched it up in the university’s library during my break, I’d probably be able to discover all kinds of weapons. “Hmm, I wonder if I should look up some information on how to tan the fur as well.” There were other things that I wanted to research too. For instance, a method in tanning fur. The fur from the Poison Spitting Rats have been piling up a little, so If I knew how, I could possibly process them and create a sturdier bag or better clothes. “There’s a bunch of various items that I wanted to make, or rather, items I wanted to try processing.” I picked up a skull from a Poisonous Bite Rat and turned it over. I wouldn’t know unless I actually tested it, but if I could manage to plug up some of the holes, it might work as a mortar. And if I obtain a mortar, I can then properly mash up the dangling meat fern flowers and probably make something out of that. “At any rate, I’m running out of time today, so I’ll be logging out.” “Chuu“
On that note, I settled my plans as I logged out. Ah, that reminds me. Perhaps I should check out the bulletin board as well. I may stumble across some helpful information.
