Volume 2: Red Girl

The 30 balls of light floated in the air were proof of high magic proficiency. However, although it looks scary from a Magician’s point of view, it does not look like much of a threat from a Flying Dragon’s point of view.

Though it was indeed a little surprised, the Flying Dragon quickly regained its composure and started to attack again. This time, it would seriously crush the enemy.

“I’ll be going, Serena, please match me.”

“~Move~!”

Callus concentrated on his magic.

He has a precise image in his mind and executes it with certainty.

~Move~ 2x!

Two balls of light moved in accordance with Callus’ instructions.

They then stopped right in front of the rushing Flying Dragon, waiting for their next instruction.

“~Burst~!”

The moment Callus shouted, the two balls of light burst with great force, scattering a strong light around the area.

The Flying Dragon’ eyes was exposed to the blinding light, and was frightened and grunted in pain, “Ggh!”

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Callus manipulated multiple balls of light.

“~Charge~!”

The condensed balls of light hit the Flying Dragon’s legs several times in a row.

The balls of light that are just floating in the air have no offensive capabilities, but with ~Charge~, they are imbued with power. Each attack does not inflict much damage, but every little bit of dust adds up to a big pile.

However, the scales of the Flying Dragon are robust, and the Flying Dragon tries to rush towards Callus again.

“~Move~… ~Protect~!

A ball of light moved at the flying dragon’s feet and suddenly solidified…

The Flying Dragon, which had been running with great vigor, tripped on it and staggered. Seeing this, Callus immediately sent out a command.

“~Move~, ~Charge~!”

A number of balls charged with the magic power crashed into the Flying Dragon’s face.

Kris couldn’t help but let out an audible gasp when she witnessed the sophisticated magic, beautiful even.

“Amazing…”

It was hard to believe that this was done by a boy who was having difficulty swinging a sword.

She was ashamed that she had thought that he was weaker than her.

He also didn’t flaunt his strength, but rather acknowledged his weakness and asked her to teach him how to use the sword.

“Gu, Lululu…!”

After being hit by several magic shots, the Flying Dragon was unable to endure any longer and fell to its knees.

Its face contorted in pain, though its fighting spirit has not yet disappeared.

Seeing this, Callus wondered.

“Why is this Flying Dragon still challenging me…?”

Callus knew that the red Flying Dragon “Megido Species” was known to be aggressive, but the blue Flying Dragon “Saia Species” was relatively gentle.

He had read in a book that they rarely attack human settlements and are said to go away on their own when they encounter people.

However, the Flying Dragon in front of him did not run away but boldly challenged him. This point confused him.

“Could it be…”

“Gogaaaaaahhhh!”

However, the Flying Dragon did not give Callus to think more and roared.

And then, taking in a full breath, it puffed out its throat. That is the signal that it’s about to use a Flying Dragon’s greatest weapon. Gory noticed this and shouted.

“Callus!”

“Yes, I know!”

Callus deactivated the rest of the balls of light and prepared himself. If the Flying Dragon is going to use Dragon’s Breath, it’s not good.

If he avoids it, the two people behind him will be harmed. Although, they’ll probably be safe because there’s Master, but still, avoiding was not an option.

“I’m sorry, Serena. I need a little more help.”

“You really are a reckless boy, aren’t you? But that’s why you’re my contractor.”

Serena laughed happily and lent her strength to the boy.

After spending all of her spare time, she finally met someone who could help her out of her boredom.

“Gohaaaaaaaahhh!”

With a roar, the Flying Dragon shot a huge mass of flame from its mouth.

It is the Flying Dragon’s greatest weapon, the Dragon’s Breath. It is the strongest flame that could burn everything.

Even at a distance, Callus can feel the heat of the flames, as he looked straight ahead.

“~Shield Of Light~!”

A large, shining shield appeared and faced the Dragon’s Breath head-on.

The impact was so great that the shield cracked, but it was quickly repaired.

Light magic has the power to restore things to their original state. Naturally, its defensive capability is much higher than other magic. Callus understood this.

That is why he learned this magic first before offensive magic.

“I will definitely protect you!”

Because he’s always the one being protected until now, he has a strong desire to protect others.

And that feeling is transmitted to his spirit and reflected in his magic. Even a Dragon’s Breath could not break through that conviction.

“Ha…. Ha….”

Callus’ shoulders moved up and down as he heavily breathed. He’s using a large amount of magic power.

The scorched and melted earth in front tells how powerful the Dragon’s Breath is.

However, despite that, it still couldn’t get past the light shield.

“G….u….”

The Flying Dragon, having used up all of its power, collapsed on the spot.

For the first time, Callus was able to win by his own strength.
