Chapter 16: Gains

Alex had a bit of an issue getting the rathalos back to astera since his claws were full with the main body leaving the tail. he eventually skewered the bone in the tail with his own tail before wrapping it around it like a python. this lead to a very wobbly flight since alex wasn't used to flying without using his tail for balance. it was a pretty big deal for a rathalos to be killed since to the people of this world they were the kings of the sky. the elder dragons didn't count despite being far stronger than the rathalos species since there weren't that many of them in comparison.

The admiral wasn't in astera since he had went out on a few month expedition in hopes of observing the changes that zorah would bring in the rough month left till it's arrival. the hunters once again dissembled the corpse expertly and alex had to clean the marrow from the tail bone off of his tail. it was super fatty and delicious with a huge amounts of points attached to the stuff making alex clean out the whole lot of the stuff. 

The hunters could only just shrug at the loss of the valuable resource since it wasn't their corpse to decide what to do with. they got plenty of other materials from the corpse though so they didn't mind losing one. alex regretted not hunting a rathalos sooner as he got two hundred thousand points for eating it. the meat was surprisingly very bland in flavor with a consistency similar to pork shoulder that was not very tender. alex got to see something interesting that wasn't in the game as the hunters carefully removed the wings from the corpse and turned the whole wing into a leather banner.

The flame pattern on a rathalos's wings were a prized collectors item back in the old world but to make the trip it needed to be dried and processed into leather. alex didn't care what they did with it since he was planning genocide on the race for points over the next month. alex did the math and if he got one rath member per every three days he would get ten of them a month. at two hundred thousands points a piece he would have around two million points by the time the fifth fleet rolled around.

Right now he had a little over eight hundred fifty thousand points from all of his stored hunts worth of points plus what the rathalos gave him. this was perfect since it was just a small bit over what he needed to get another element. alex wasted no time getting the water element like he had previously planned. after that alex created a water element version of the light orb and modified the light orb and new aqua orbs description to make them part of a set that doubles the effect for each one nearby. 

This change cost him the rest of his points but it was totally worth it in his opinion as the instant the aqua orb appeared the effect on him from both orbs grew from grains of sand to pebbles. alex could imagine amassing a huge amount of power by sleeping in the future with all five elemental orbs. that day dream was shot down however when he saw the price of another element had tripled rather than doubled like he thought it would. this meant it cost one million eight hundred thousand points if alex wanted another element so at the moment there were better things to get first.

Alex's game plan for the future barring unusual circumstances was to get an extra set of horns and spines for his water element before focusing on increasing his muscle volume followed by it's density. for those wondering why in that order , it was so he got the ripped look he wanted in addition to the huge strength to rival even rajang. price gauging this put the first of the two priorities at around seven hundred thousand points but the second was unknown until the first was done. 

Alex slightly miscalculated how many rathalos or rathians he would find in this time since he got good at spotting them halfway through the month. this gave him an extra five members of the rath type down before the start of the new month. this meant he earned three million points in total after hunting rath members for the whole month. seven hundred thousand of those went into getting ripped and one million five hundred thousand into increasing the density of those muscle by four times. this left him seven hundred thousand after he got his extra horns and spines in the shape of small ovals for his water element.
