Chapter 278 - You're Mine

Holding me in his arms, he plopped down onto the couch once we entered my room. We were a little too close for comfort, so I tried to get out of his arms. It was no use since he only hugged me tighter. He then whispered in my ear, “What’s wrong? Do you not like it?”

“That… That’s not it…” His fingers wrapped around my waist slowly climbed up my back. He slowly caressed the back of my neck, and I shivered. It would have been fine if it ended there, but the heat from the tips of his fingers ignited a fire in my body. I felt my face grow red. Embarrassed, I tried to push him away by his chest. “Max, don’t—” I began. However, he grabbed me by my hands.

“What happened to your hands?” His question reminded me of an important thing I had forgotten about.

“Oh, I finished embroidering the handkerchief for you!”

“Your fingers became like this from the embroidery?” he sighed. I examined my hands—there were small wounds from the constant prickling from the needle. I was somewhat self-conscious of the wounds since they served as proof of my lack of skills in sewing. I kept my mouth shut. He brought his lips close to my fingers. “If I had known you were going to get hurt like this, I wouldn’t have asked you for the embroidery.”

It was strange. Was he feeling sorry for something small like this? Suppressing a smile, I looked at him. Unlike before, he looked apologetic, as if blaming himself for what happened to my fingers. “Don’t worry about it. I did it because I wanted to.”

Once I finished speaking, Max kissed me slowly. I accepted his gentle gesture for a moment. His kiss suddenly turned violent then, swirling me into a storm. Without realizing it, I let out soft gasps as I struggled to accept him. Not long after, he pulled away. His relaxed eyes met mine before he lowered his head and kissed my neck.

“Max, that’s my… ” I began, slightly taken aback that his lips were on my neck. That was when I felt pain—he was sucking me and digging his sharp fangs into me. Startled by the unfamiliar sensation, I called him. “Max, wait a minute…” I then let out a soft sigh. The pain soon turned to pleasure, and I trembled from the novel experience. He then began licking my neck. I continued to quiver at the peculiar feeling—the mix of pain and a tickling sensation. He looked up and grinned.

“You’re beautiful.”

I stared blankly at his handsome face for a moment. Then I realized what had happened and pushed him away. “Max, that just now…!” I was going to yell at him for what he had done to me and educate him that this was an inappropriate act.

However, he gave a light kiss on my lips and asked, “What kind of embroidery did you sew onto the handkerchief?” I gave him a sullen look for interrupting me, but he hugged me to distract me again. “I love you, Jubelian.” In the end, I couldn’t get mad at him. I had no choice but to pat him on the head.

Feeling the lady caress his hair, Max smiled slightly. ‘I’m glad that she didn’t get upset.’ At first, Max was just trying to appease his impatience. He had buried his face into her porcelain neck to relish her fragrant body odor. There had been no other intention. But the moment he saw her unblemished skin, a barbaric impulse rose from within him. He wanted to make his mark on her skin so that others wouldn’t dare to approach her.
