Arc 1: The Meeting - Chapter 30

Option 1: Bacon Explosion

Option 2: Fountain of Youth

Option 3: Pot of Senzu Beans

Option 4: Tenseiga

Option 5: Revitalizing Kitchen Knife

Today's list of godlike items is weird. Like, what is Bacon Explosion anyway? Other than that, the rest are healing themes. I think.

Because the Fountain of Youth technically doesn't count as a healing item, but it could be due to it being a version having healing features. Nonetheless, I don't think I'll pick that one since Zetsu alone would do the same for me.

As for the other three, one from Dragon Ball Z, unless there is another series using the name: Senzu Bean that I don't know of. The Tenseiga should be from Inuyasha, and the Revitalizing Kitchen Knife should be from Toriko.

To be sure, quick use of Invasion, and yup, it's from Toriko. It should be useful since the knife can only help the regeneration of an ingredient or person but can't revitalize dead people or beasts. But, knowing the Boss, that might not be a thing with it. Same with the Tenseiga, but I'm also curious what the whole pot thing is going on with Senzu Beans.

Does it come with a large amount of Senzu Beans? And if so, would the pot generate more Senzu Beans, or am I limited to just the amount inside?

Because Senzu Beans would be amazing to have since Zetsu is great and all, but it takes time to recover fully.

Honestly, I want to take the Tenseiga due to its ability to hurt the nonliving, but the One Holy Spear can do that already, and I like the sword's resurrection ability. However, I'm sure there is a cheat that could do the same among the glowing books in my shadow. In addition, I'm already used to wielding a spear, and changing it into a sword would be a bit of a problem, not a lot due to having the Old Ways, but I have more experience in wielding the spear at this point.

Therefore, out of all the five options. It wasn't hard to pick as I chose the Pot of Senzu Beans and the Revitalizing Kitchen Knife. Mainly the former is to help me in case Zetsu isn't fast enough and out of pure curiosity to see how much the knife would affect my cooking. Also, it can be used to treat others; well, not like the girls would be hurt any time soon. So I can also use it on myself too.

Well, crazy voices, it seems I'm not going to die anytime soon with the Pot of Senzu Beans! I have a 12-inch pot filled to almost the top, and it will last a long time if I don't eat so much, like Yajirobe. Also, the moment the pot is empty, the next day, it will fill up once again—no need to add dirt, water, seed, or anything.

The Senzu Bean itself is pretty much the same as the canon version. But, this one CAN heal injuries that have already healed over time, like scars, along with being able to heal people of sickness and diseases. Talk about having the best healing item available, truly a godlike item. Well, items as in plural since there is more than one of these upgraded Senzu Beans. Although, it's the pot itself that is the actual godlike item as it produces these upgraded Senzu Beans.

There are only two things that changed to the Revitalizing Kitchen Knife the need to eat high nutritional ingredients to complete the regeneration and being able to revitalize dead people and beasts. But only if an entire body is intact to work with, so having a missing head or heart is impossible.

An idea just popped into my head.

Crazy voices, I don't know if this would work, but if it does, I might have solved one of my minor problems as a caretaker.

"Hey, Nyarla, have you ever tried one of these beans?" I held up a Senzu Bean to Nyarla.

Before I knew it, the Senzu Bean disappeared from my hand, and Nyarla happily chewed for a few seconds, then rubbed her stomach in joy.

"I haven't had one of those Senzu Beans in a long time!" Nyarla's eyes dart to the Pot of Senzu Beans, drooling.

I quickly store the Pot of Senzu Beans in my shadow, much to Nyarla's disappointment.

"Aw, come on, Jin! I'm still hungry." Nyarla pouted at me as she pleaded for more Senzu Beans.

I was about to say something when the small purple book leaped out of my hand and floated in front of me—getting another message from the Boss.

Damn, the Boss is sending more messages in such a short time.

I catch the small purple book and toss it into my shadow.

"You can only have three per day." I said to Nyarla as I tossed her two more Senzu Beans, which she happily ate without even thinking about saving them for later.

To my relief, Nyarla didn't ask for more Senzu Beans, even when I had so much. I rather not find out what happens if she overeats and has a problem worse than a stomach ache. After all, the Boss limit Nyarla to three Senzu Beans, which means there will be a problem if she eats more than three. This includes Yor and Takamine, making me almost curious about what would happen. But I'm not interested enough to throw my life away.

Reset & Restart or not. This won't stop the Boss from permanently killing me.

I gave Yor and Takamine three Senzu Beans each, seeing how they were staring at me with hunger this entire time, and would have forcibly taken it from me if it wasn't for the fact the Pot of Senzu Beans was given to me by the Boss. They should be happy I'm willing to share and not keep it all to myself.

Plus, I don't think I can finish the entire pot alone in a single day, so I don't mind sharing. I just don't want the girls to end up sick from overeating them or something worse while under my watch.

No surprise to see Yor and Takamine eat all three Senzu Beans. Without waiting a moment after I hand them over. Making me feel more cautious in taking these Senzu Beans myself if the girls act like this. Not that I'm skeptical of the Boss drugging me with these Senzu Beans, because there is no point when the Boss can easily do something other than drug me. But, the Senzu Beans could have some side effects on eldritch beings. Or at least with this version of Senzu Beans, it does.

Anyway, the Boss has already informed me of the first set of worlds the girls could lead us to. Inuyasha if Nyarla opens the door first. Naruto, if Yor is the one opening the door. Death Note with Takamine.

All these worlds involve lots of death, whether in the limelight, aka on the scene of the series, or hints of it happening in the background.

Seems normal to me.

Ah, shit. I'm too used to this now if that is considered normal.

Nonetheless, any of them is acceptable to me since I don't feel like staying in this world for too long in case any eldritch monsters decide to try their luck.

I thought about it, and Inuyasha is less of a threat in nearly everything compared to the other two worlds. I don't feel like testing the water to see if I can still be killed by the Death Note while being an outsider of that world. Naruto is just too annoying to deal with, especially with Naruto being generally annoying whenever he starts using his plot armor to persuade the villains to turn to a new leaf and become a good guys.

Quickly, I got Nyarla to open the door, and I might have miscalculated.

Because we've appeared near a river, and the door to the apartment has already disappeared, even without closing it behind us.

Shit.

"Ugh, I don't like it here." Takamine complains as she looks around in annoyance. "I don't sense any school drama nearby."

Oh, that's why you're annoyed. I thought because you hate nature and stuff. My bad for thinking that, Takamine.

Right, I forgot she couldn't read my mind. Crazy voices, is it concerning that I keep expecting the girls to be able to read my mind all the time? Well, not all the time, but you guys get my point, right?

"There are a lot of deaths going on in this world." Yor spoke up, looking to the right. "Also, an entity at the borderline of the living and the dead is not supposed to exist with just an incomplete soul."

"Oh, I think that's one of fate's chosen ones." Nyarla's eyes light up. No doubt she plans to do the same to this fate's chosen one, like with the Thompson sisters back in Soul Eater.

Yeah, there's a high chance this Kikyo they are talking about. This means we're far into the canon already, but I could be wrong, and this isn't Kikyo and could be someone else that just happens to have an incomplete soul like Kikyo.

"So, I'm guessing we're going to hunt down this fate's chosen one?" I ask the girls. While thinking if it's possible to head to the modern Inuyasha's timeline using those ancient wells like Kagome does to return to her time.

"That's right!" Nyarla nods and then begins to lead us to Kikyo or someone else similar to her case.

"Hey, Jin." Yor looks a little nervous but keeps eye contact with me.

"Yeah?" I got a bad feeling.

"Do you mind me cooking our next meal?" Yor looks like she is already expecting me to reject her, going with the sad look on her face.

So I was right about that bad feeling, and also, I just realized why today's list is mainly filled with healing theme godlike items.

Damn it, Boss. Are you trying to torture me by having me taste Yor's handmade cooking? Does having me eat her food help her improve her cooking or something? Because that's the only thing, I could think up off the top of my head.

I wondered why I was given a large pot filled with so many Senzu Beans and why it would be fully refilled the next day. It's because I might need the entire pot to counter Yor's handmade cooking, isn't it?

Of course, Boss didn't say anything about this. But I can see the unspoken message. I wish you would be upfront with this like you did with the previous messages.

"Sure. I don't mind eating your handmade food, Yor." I said in a fake calm tone.

"You have my respect, Jin." Takamine said to me right away.

Now, I'm more sure than ever that I might need the entire Pot of Senzu Beans.

"Uh, I think I won't mind not eating until we go back to the apartment." Nyarla begins to sweat and look scared.

"You and me both." Takamine let out a nervous giggle.

Yor seems too excited and happy to hear what her sisters just said.

Fuck.

Hey, crazy voices, send a message to the Boss that I might need more than one Pot of Senzu Beans if I'm forced to eat Yor's handmade cooking from this point on.
