Arc 1: The Meeting - Chapter 9

"Not really." I said dryly, knowing how bad things might get if I forced most Undersiders to unmask themselves in public.

That greatly relieved the Undersiders, who didn't want to be unmasked.

"Although, it wouldn't matter. Since I know everyone's face here, even with masks on." I grin in delight to hear the gasps from the Undersiders. "What? Did you think I have my face revealed out in the open without good reason?"

"But wouldn't that motivate others to kill you to keep their civilian identities a secret?" Skitter asked in concern and worry.

Skitter is the main character of Worm and does not have a great ending compared to the other main characters. In addition, her power to control bugs seems weak and lame. But, the distance of her control and the number of bugs she can control would frighten many, for those that don't truly know how dangerous she could be, especially how she used them throughout the canon timeline.

Although, like most other main characters, she doesn't have the same level of smartness in her power to control bugs to be used in her daily life's problems.

"More food for my dogs." I point to the Divine Dogs standing next to me, where they are giving off a menacing presence.

They might not be large as Hellhound's dogs, but they can kill things bigger than them without any problems. Especially the extra features included in the Ten Shadows Technique by the Boss. Something I'm eager to use soon. Sadly, Coil wasn't enough for me to use them.

"That's a good answer to me. Let the cool-looking wolves eat our enemy away if they come at us with murderous intentions." Regent said joyfully. "So what's our first job, bossman?"

"I honestly don't know. I didn't expect you guys to be under my command, for that matter." I wasn't too sure what I did in the other timeline to threaten Coil enough to order the Undersiders to listen to me before I killed him in this timeline. But, I must have a good reason to want the Underisders under my control. However, compared to Coil, I don't have the time or resources to support the Undersiders.

I stare at Tattletale, causing her to shiver, then I look at Skitter, who stands firmly, but I can see her body trembling slightly. That would have been missed if I wasn't using En to lock on everything inside to the last details. Leaving no dust escaping my detection range as long I focus or input some commands to trigger my body to move on instinct.

"Hey, Jin, I'm still hungry. You got any more cookies?" Nyarla asks me, drawing the Undersiders' attention to her.

"Fuck! Those are some huge titty!" Regent didn't hide his thoughts, causing Grue to elbow him in the stomach to shut him up.

Tattletale and Skiller zone onto Nyarla's heavenly mountains in jealousy and envy. But, Tattletale became pale in the face and quickly looked away. Skillet's shoulders drop a little as she glances down at her somewhat decent size breasts. No doubt complaining about how unfair it is for Nyarla to have such large breasts and the right body figure to make them stand out in a good way. Seductive way, if anything.

"Not at the moment." I replied, which got me a pouty face from Nyarla.

"But I'm hungry." Nyarla looks at me with wide eyes.

"There is a restaurant nearby that we could go to, but I don't know about us going while masked." Grue spoke up, causing Nyarla to look at him, and he became stiff instantly.

I don't think Nyarla was just giving him a cold look; however, I'm pretty sure Grue would love to be given the cold shoulder over whatever he is experiencing. I do wonder what words he used to trigger Nyarla.

"Anyway, I don't know what you guys want, but I will not be your boss. If anything, you guys are free to do whatever." I drag Nyarla away before she melts Grue or drives him insane.

"Please tell me what you desire, your holiness." Grue drops to his knees, slamming his forehead against the concrete, bowing to the lowest possible.

Never mind, it seems like Nyarla broke Grue already, and I'm surprised he didn't trigger again, or it was too much and too fast before the trigger could happen. Also, note to self: Nyarla is likely nice to me because I'm her caretaker/roommate and treat others not nicely.

"What the fuck?!" Regent takes a few steps from Grue, then looks at Nyarla in horror.

"So, we're going to go, and you guys do whatever." I grab Dinah's hand and give the Divine Dogs a look to make it, so none of the Undersiders follow us. No matter how powerful they end up in the series and how useful they could be as a group. They are nothing compared to what I might face in the future. Mainly the random monsters that would kill them before they could even use their power.

After a few minutes of walking away and keeping an eye on the Undersiders with En, I dismiss Divine Dogs.

"Can we get some food now? Or maybe some more cookies?" Nyarla looks at me, but I can see her eyes glancing at my shadow every so often. As if she could see the rest of the stored cookies inside my shadow.

"We're going to get food." I replied, causing Nyarla to pout, hoping for the cookies instead of eating at a local restaurant.

So I took Nyarla and the quiet Dinah to a random restaurant to eat before changing that decision, as I forgot that people couldn't stop looking at Nyarla. Of course, using the Delayed Effect would do the trick, but people would scream there is a master-type Cape on the loose and use their power without caring about the outcomes.

Master-type Cape is those with the ability that allows one to control others or create minions. The latter is somewhat okayish in this world; however, controlling others makes many people deem these Capes more dangerous than others, depending on their controls, effects, and range. They even had to seal up an entire city to keep said Cape inside with how much of a threat they could be to the world if given enough time to wander freely.

Or at least, that is what I could remember with how problematic master-type Cape in Worm could be.

Even though Delayed Effect isn't entirely on controlling others and could do more than that, most people in Worm wouldn't care and go full-on paranoia depending on what powers Cape would obtain in their trigger event.

"Oh, can we eat there?" Nyarla pointed to our left, where it happened to be Fugly Bob's.

"How strong is your heart?" I ask Nyarla, not saying no, but if I remember right. There's the Fugly Bob Challenger; if someone can finish it, they don't have to pay for it. However, not many could nor were dumb enough to do the challenger without preparing or having some kind of power to help them eat everything.

"Good, why you ask?" Nyarla blinks her eyes at me.

"Let's say that what we're going to order for you to eat wouldn't be good for the heart."

An hour later, I just remembered Nyarla isn't human, or this could be proof that she isn't human. Because she finished everything, I feel sick after seeing so many greasy foods devoured by Nyarla like it's nothing. Also, forget to get Nyarla a healthy meal after this. I'm going to have to grab that cheat from Food Wars because I don't think without it, I would be able to make something healthy enough to balance out what Nyarla just ate.

I just hope the Boss wouldn't punish me for allowing Nyarla to eat something so damn greasy in a large amount and in such a short time. I may have to deal with the headache while cooking Nyarla something healthy. Also, maybe finding another cheat to help me figure out the best workout plans for Nyarla.

"Yeah, we're not going back there ever again." I said to Nyarla while using Delayed Effect to make it so the people inside wouldn't snap out of their shocks until we were a good distance away.

"How come? The burgers and fries there were good." Nyarla replied in surprise. "Also, everything was for free. Shouldn't we take advantage of that?"

"Trust me, even if it's for free. The downside to the whole thing isn't worth it." I answered, trying not to sigh in disbelief at how easily Nyarla ate the whole thing like nothing. I wonder if I wasn't making enough food for Nyarla since she is always hungry for more, even if it means eating snacks all the time.

"So, where are we going now? I'm stuff after so long." Nyarla rubs her stomach in happiness.

Well, here is my answer to if I'm feeding Nyarla enough to satisfy her hunger. Yeah, I might have to deal with the headache and grab that set of superhuman abilities from Food Wars. No way would I be able to cook delicious meals without affecting the taste if I made more in quantity.

"How about we head back home? You got games to play, right?" I pause to look at Dinah, who is drinking her milkshake.

I honestly forgot about her, even when I held her hand to ensure she didn't get lost or kidnapped by someone this whole time.

"Also, we must figure out what to do with Dinah here." I continue, causing Dinah to look at me while drinking her milkshake still.

"I mean, didn't we complete the quest of saving her from behind kidnapped by the bad guys?" Nyarla tilts her head to show how confused she is by my comment.

I stare at Nyarla for a long minute before my brain finally comprehends her words.

"Oh yeah, Dinah. You can return home now. Since the bad men won't take you away anymore." I honestly forgot about Dinah's problem with Coil, whom I'd killed already. "I know this might hurt, but what's the chance of you NOT being kidnapped by anyone else from this point on as long you don't tell others about your power?"

"1% due to many possibilities of people discovering my power." Dinah replied instantly, wincing in pain, either from the brain freeze from drinking the milkshake too long now or from her power; both could be the case.

"Works for me. Time to get you home." I said to Dinah, no way am I going to take care of another person, even if Dinah might be easier than Nyarla. My hands are technically full with Nyarla already. Even if Dinah could help me in the long run with her power, it would also put me at a disadvantage in many ways. Look at canon Coil; he still lost even with Dinah's helps.

It didn't even take that long before getting Dinah safely home with a promise to stay away from troubles as best she could with the help of her power, not putting too much pressure on her when she was the one asking the questions.

"Let's head home now." I said to Nyarla as I relied on En to find the closest unlocked door and felt like Lady Luck was testing me again. Because it just happened that there was an unlocked door smack right in the middle of the alley.

Oh, for fuck sake.
