Chapter 44: Quest 41- In The City

Walking through the northern main road Nox could feel eyes on her.

'Have these humans never seen an owl before?’

“They probably never seen one a beautiful as you.” Cirrus whispered over to Nox. “Anyway here we are.”

They stop in front of a clothing store in the northern section of the city near the main road.

‘Ooo~ I’m very impressed! These clothes look far better than in my time!’

“Well these are one of the better ones.”

As Cirrus enters the shop several of the female eyes went to him.

“Aww what are you doing her little boy♥!” said the attendant.

“I’m here to buy clothes for my big sister’s friend.”

“Oh♥! Do you have a crush!”

“…Uhh…sure?”

“Hm! hm! alright! I’ll help you! So do you know her measurements?”

“Uh no but you can ask her.”

“Hm? who?”

“Me.”

The attendant turned to see an inhuman beauty in a small cloak.

Nox returned to her human form, but Cirrus was a bit surprised there was no flash.

‘Hey why wasn’t there a flash?’ said Cirrus talking to her mentally.

‘Oh that I do that for some style. Also this attendant hasn’t said anything in a while.’

“….” The attendant was breathless.

“Here is 20,000 Valis in this bag.” Cirrus says as he puts it on the table. “Nox I’ll be waiting outside.”

“Okay!”

 

Outside the shop Cirrus sits next to the shop and watches as adventures pass by on their way to the dungeon when a certain emerald hair caught his eye.

“Riveria?” he spoke out.

“Hm?”

Stopping in the sea of crowds was a high-elf looking at Cirrus.

‘Ah shit she heard me!’

Walking towards Cirrus from the crowd Riveria stood before him.

“Cirrus? Why are you here?” she said.

“Where are you going elf?” said a dwarven man.

“We have to hurry you two or else Bara, Dain, and Noir will chew us out.” Said Finn.

“He is the child that Lenoa the magic shop owner is taking care of.” She then turns her gaze back to Cirrus. “I haven’t seen you in long time? Did you join a Familia?” she said.

Cirrus gets up and brushes himself off from the dirt.

“I have, I’ve been away doing several quests outside the city since well…you know.” Cirrus looks to the crowd and Riveria painfully agrees as did the Dwarf and Finn. “So are these two part of your Familia?”

“Oh! you two introduce yourselves.”

The dwarf first introduced himself.

“My name is Gareth, it’s nice to meet you!” he said with a big smile.

“My name is Cirrus. It’s nice to meet you as well!”

“So what Familia did you join Cirrus?” asked Riveria.

“Well I-“

“Cirrus I’m all done!”

They turn to find Nox a girl who seems to be in her early 20s wearing a white sundress with sandals.

The moment she stepped out she had already caught the eye of several adventures both men and women.

“Then let’s go, it was nice to meet you Riveria, Gareth and Finn.”

Cirrus gave a nod before he and Nox left.

“…Hey elf who was that?” said Gareth.

“I…I don’t know…” said Riveria. “I have to ask Lenoa.”

 

Walking through the city with Nox turn out to be an entirely different experience than anything before.

“…Nox these gazes are so…it almost like their stabbing daggers into me.” Cirrus said.

“Pay them no mind, I want to go and try some of the food!”

Cirrus did as she liked and took her to enjoy some food after years sealed in that tomb. With great beauty comes a lot of attention as even when they sat to eat many eyes were still on them.

“Hey there pretty la-“

“No.” Nox said as she eats her meal.

“What about-“

“Fuck off.” Cirrus said as he tries to enjoy his meal.

“Who the hell are you ki-“

“Leave us alone.” Nox glared at the men with sharp eyes and they all looked like scared puppies as they left.

“…Seems we can’t even enjoy a simple meal.” Cirrus said.

“Fufu…are you a bit jealous?”

“No just annoyed.”

“No I can see the blush on your face!”

“Don’t push it.”

As they eat and enjoy their meal with some breathing room, they heard a loud siren.

“Alert!! Alert!! There is a Monster Stampede!! I repeat there is a Monster Stampede!! All 3^rd class adventures are prohibited from the dungeon until this has been dealt with!! All 2^nd and above adventures are to head to the dungeon and assist in stopping this stampede!”

As several adventures leave quickly very few adventures head towards Babel.

“So…are we going to head there as well? You aren’t technically registered in yet?”

“Hmm….well maybe I should make my debut to the city.”

“Are you going to buy a new weapon?”

“No, I think I’ll just take it from one of these level 1 adventures.” Cirrus said as he made a grin.
