Chapter 68: Quest 63- Westward Cloud, 1st Chapter, Dreamcatcher

For the next 2 days Cirrus trained in archery something he wanted to do since his fight with the Amphisbaena and now he has found himself a teacher.

Those two days reminded Cirrus of the time he spent training with Lugh in Zolingham. Sadly, Cirrus would need more than two days to improve his archery as the river a few meters away started to turn black on the dusk of the 2^nd day according to Nox.

The sea breeze at the top of the towns walls hit Cirrus as he closed his eyes, he opens them to see the beautiful sun setting behind him, the nice colors of red and blue calmed his heart and mind as the Nuckelavee is coming.

“Nox is everyone out of the city?”

‘They are, the weaker members of Artemis’s Familia are protecting the townspeople Artemis included. Her stronger children are all in the back for you engage the monster.’

“Well…” Cirrus gets up and puts down his deer mask. “They won’t be waiting for long.”

As Cirrus looks at the sea a green light could faintly be seen at the murkiness of the sea. He gets up and drew his spear.

The monster slowly rode out of the sea, its flaming big eye, its disgustingly muscular monstrous body of the creature were trained on Cirrus. The human portion looked around till it eventually also landed on Cirrus and horse potion let out a piercing screech.

“KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

            Its screech could be heard throughout the town and even to the towns people in the nearby woods.

“Let’s see what a monster of the Age of Hero’s is capable of.”

            Cirrus jumps back behind the city walls.

 

The Nuckelavee see’s Cirrus jumping back behind the walls, and it sprang into a gallop, it used it fists to punch its way through the gate without stopping.

Seeing it do that reminded Cirrus of a certain armored giant.

The Nuckelavee began to try and find Cirrus but as it looked around it found nothing but empty homes and buildings.

Its human eye attached to the nerves wriggled around with such a hard and absurd line of sight when suddenly.

Thunk!!

“KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

The bundle of nerves holding the eye was shot causing the Nuckelavee to lose its human eye.

It started to regenerate its lose eye and as it was Cirrus quickly made his move.

Rushing from out of cover from within a building he rushed with spear and sword in hand.

Shing!

Shing!!!

“KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!”

Cutting into its hind right leg it screamed out in pain. Its swung its right arm and even tried to use its right rear leg but didn’t have to strength to so only its right arm it struck Cirrus, but he remained firm.

“You pack a fucking punch!”

Cirrus twisted his sword in his left hand and embedded it deeper, its black blood spewed out spraying Cirrus.

            Tsssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!

“Corrosive!”

Cirrus quickly withdrew his spear and sword using his strength and speed. He quickly checked the weapons conditions, it took but a single glance to know their state.

‘Shit their slightly melted!’

He quickly swings off the blood and looks at the Nuckelavee.

“This is why it was such a fucking pain, fine then.” Cirrus sheathes his weapons and takes them off and threw them aside, he then takes out his whip. “You punk ass bitch.”

Crack! Crack!

With two quick swings of his whip he could see slight cuts on its body.

Crack!

Crack!

Cirrus begin to swing the whip with even more speed and strength, if he couldn’t use his bladed weapons for fear of their deterioration then he will go with another option, wasting its stamina and energy.

The Nuck managed to turn around covering its now fully formed eye and its horse mouth began to breath its green flame.

Cirrus quickly ran to get out of the way as it breathed the fire.

Fwooooooooooooooooooosh!!!!!!!!!!!

Green fire began to engulf several buildings in fire, the people from afar could see the green fire and its light as the sun begins to sets.

Fsh!

Fsh!

Two arrows fly through the air, but the Nuck quickly sees them and knocks them out of the air as it heard a-

Thud!

It looked down to find a broken 3^rd arrow, it looked at east side and spotted two humans. It started to gallop towards them when Cirrus reappeared again from the fires.

His eyes were bleeding and some of his armor was burnt, the gold was also slightly melted.

His deer mask disappeared into the air and his magic circle appeared behind him.

“(Exousía, Adorn: Erymanthian)!!!”

The boar armor quickly wraps itself around his arms as he punches the chest of the horse.

            Thuuuuuuuuuud!!!!!!!!

The sound of flesh being struck could be heard to the others in town, the strike itself slightly railed back the Nuck.

Cirrus’s arms were a mess, if not for the adrenaline pumping through him. He would have screamed in agony but not sure to make of his tolerance for pain. He tried to clench his fist with will alone, but his vison started to fail him, his lungs felt heavier.

“Fuck…poison.”

Cirrus drops to one knee at the worse time. He looks up to the Nuck galloping towards him. He sees arrows bouncing off its muscle, the yellow veins of its body started to pump more vigorously, its muscles begin to bulge in power, its muscles now appeared to be like Black skin as the green fire appears in small bursts around its body.

Barely able to see this Cirrus only determine that it was in its 2^nd phase or in it's enraged state.

‘Cirrus!!!’

“Stay…back.”

“KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Ramming into Cirrus at full force the Nuck bashed him with both of its fists, but an arrow found its mark again cutting the bundle of nerves holding the eye again.

Even after losing its eye it had Cirrus, with all of its speed and strength it rammed Cirrus through all the buildings and even the towns wall. It threw him out on the east of the town where it only had plains.

The towns people could see the monster from the tree lines as it watches Cirrus slowly gets up completely bloody.

“Haa…haa….haa…haa Nox bli-!”

Before Cirrus could finish, he sees Artemis running a bit always shooting arrows to grab its attention.

The Nuck slowly turns towards her, and its flame seem to burst in green flame.

“Nox!” Cirrus shouted as the Nuck began to charge at Artemis.

Artemis seeing it come at her she closed her eyes and accepted her fate when Nox quickly dove from up on high in front of Artemis.

“Y-you!” Artemis said opening her eyes.

‘(White Bright) [White Night]!!! (Flash and gaze. Tear through the cosmos.) [White Night]!!!

An intense bright light blinded the Nuck as a beam of light struck at it like a pyroclastic flow. It was a quick as it was powerful. It was more then enough to slow the Nuck, but it still was rampaging towards Artemis with a shambling body that slowly began to regenerate.

Cirrus seeing the bright light he disengaged his armor and his magic circle appeared behind him. With a blood and pain filled mouth he utters.

“(Exousía, Adorn)!!”

The armor latched on to him and his wounds began to heal but the poison was another thing entirely that needed more time to handle.

‘Good to know.’ He thought to himself as he forced himself back up with a body filled with broken bones. He ran with all of his strength that he can muster, with each step his bones heal, and the pain is drowned out by the adrenalin, his magic was draining quickly, and he had to end it now.

“Open field.” He said softly with a big grin on his face.

            By the 7^th step he disengaged his armor and uttered.

“(Exousía, Adorn: Cerberus).”

            From his magic circle a 3-headed dog appeared and like a bird opening its wings to catch its prey the dog’s body opened up and wrapped itself around Cirrus’s body. Like all the other armors when summoned they all have a holy white look before eventually turning colors, for Cerberus it turned to a pure dark, as if one were looking at a black hole with some chains hanging around.

            Cirrus got on all fours and using the ground, he would run low and push off the ground with his hands quickly catching up to the Nuckelavee and enough for him to stand before Nox and Artemis. He wasn't going to risk them getting hurt.

            Artemis slowly opening her eyes from the light now saw a boy no taller than 144 cm (4’7), wearing something that would be seen in heaven with two dog pauldrons on the boys shoulders.

“My your even worse then Astraea. Jumping head first into danger with no plan."

Cirrus slightly turns his head as the mask just fully covers him.

Artemis looked into his emerald eyes and felt her heart skip a beat as he turned his head in front and held out his hands.

“RESTRAIN!!!!!”

            The chains on his armor sprang out like serpents, chaining the Nuckelavee down as it approaches, its speed slows down as it breaks more of the chains, but Cirrus’s keep making more until eventually its fully chained to the ground restraining its arms and horse’s mouth to stop it from spewing toxic green flames.

“Artemis, I suggest you take a few steps back.” He takes out a several potions for magic and downs them all like a man in desperate need of hydration.

Artemis did as he says as she could see his magic circle appear above the Nuckelavee.

“Watch and see my hero!” Nox said in her human form surprising Artemis as she pulls her back.

The sky started to darken, and the air started to be filled with power, people’s hair started to stick up as Cirrus begins to say his chant.

“(Sing your Vespers, Swords of Damocles.)!!!"

From Cirrus’s magic circle a massive sword of electricity began to form into a great sword.

"[Dia Dikastí̱s]!!!”

B O O O O M!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The force of the attack shook the earth and air, the windows in the town shattered, several people could hear a ringing in their ears as sparks of lightning danced around the area the Nuckelavee was before dispersing.

Cirrus removed his armor and slowly walked towards the Nuckelavee.

Its body was charred leaving behind only its flaming green eyes and magic stone.

“…Finally…over.”

Cirrus staggers over both of the items to enter his shadow and he fell over onto his back.

            As his eyes grow heavier, he could see Nox and Artemis over him as he slowly lost feeling and the last thing he could feel was a bitter drink and soft feathers over his face.
