Chapter 92: Chapter 92 Hijack

The little girl was wearing a silver-grey-colored adult-sized down jacket. This kind of down jacket was fairly common in the Age Of Light. There were a few holes in the jacket, the grey stuff inside the jacket almost popped out.

The jacket’s zipper was broken, it was tied up by a small string, but it was not really secure. The jacket was very long, it went all the way down to the little girl’s knees. One of her feet was wearing an old broken grey sneaker, the other one was wearing a red shoe but the size was a little bit bigger.

Probably the size of both shoes was different, so when the little girl walked, it looked very strange.

She was nervous when standing in front of Chu Yunsheng, it was like she was caught doing something bad.

But her eyes didn’t leave Chu Yunsheng’s bowl, she was still staring at it.

“Mhm, try it,” thinking of the little girl, who died underneath her mother in a car, Chu YunSheng couldn’t help but passed the bowl to the little girl. The girl was extremely hungry, she was not interested in talking, she just wanted the food.

However, she did not move, it seemed like she didn’t hear what Chu Yunsheng said.

“Try it…” said Chu Yunsheng, while trying his best to give her a friendly smile.

“Ah!” the little girl was startled, once she realized what Chu Yunsheng was saying. She raised her hands that were hiding in the long sleeves earlier, and was about to take the bowl, but then those little hands slowly moved back.

“Uncle, you eat first, just leave a tiny bit for me. I just need to taste it.” said the little girl. She was hesitant and a little bit scared.

“Uncle is not hungry, you can have it.” Chu Yunsheng took her hands and put the bowl in her hands.

“I’ll just taste it,” the little girl promised.

She slowly moved the bowl close to her mouth, but both of her arms were trembling when moving the bow. It seemed like she was trying her best to control her hunger. But in the end, she still took a big sip, and then reluctantly moved the bowl away. Before she gave it back, she also used her tongue to lick the edge of the bowl clean.

“Is it good?” said Chu Yunsheng, who put the little tiger on the ground and lit a cigarette. He did not know why he would feel that there was something stuck in his heart when he saw the little girl trying the porridge.

“Mhm, tasty!” said the little girl. After nodding her head a few times, she gave back the bowl to Chu Yunsheng slowly.

“You can have it all, uncle doesn’t need it.” Chu Yunsheng pushed the bowl back to her.

The little girl was shocked. She just looked at Chu Yunsheng and didn’t know what to do. A few seconds later, she asked nervously, “but, you haven’t eaten yet, are you not hungry?”

Chu Yunsheng shook his head. He didn’t say anything.

The little girl probably thought that Chu Yunsheng wasn’t lying, so she asked him nervously again, ‘thank you uncle, can I let my mom try it, she has not eaten for days.”

Chu Yunsheng simply waved his hand. He felt something stuck in his heart and it made him feel that everything was irritating, so he replied in a slightly annoyed tone, “up to you.”

The little girl was startled by the sudden change of his tone. She didn’t dare to carry on asking Chu Yunsheng, so She held the bowl of porridge and slowly walked back to Lao Chui’s small group with her uneven shoes. On the way back to her group, she also turned around and looked at Chu Yunsheng several times.

Chu Yunsheng was not annoyed by her behavior. The little girl just reminded him of the period of time he was trying to forget. The period of time he walked on the ground made of human bodies, the period of time the whole world was covered with blood and he lost his hope completely. When he finally came back from the deep unpleasant memories, the little girl was already scared away. Realising this, he could only give himself a hollow laugh.

But it was not long until Lao Chui held that bowl of porridge and came back to Chu Yunsheng with a woman and the little girl. Chu Yunsheng did not even finish his cigarette yet. They came back in a hurry, Lao Chui walked very fast and the women followed closely behind, the little girl was being dragged and staggered all the way to Chu Yunsheng.

“Mr. Chu, the kid is too hungry, she doesn’t know anything, I am taking the food back, please don’t leave us!” Lao Chui begged, he then put the porridge in front of Chu Yunsheng. Strangely, the porridge did not seem to reduce a single drop.

They just had a dispute with those awakened people. Now the only thing they did not want was to offend anyone of those people. They were too powerful, even though they were hired by them, everyone knew that they couldn’t command them to do anything.

Lao Chui was very concerned when he heard the little girl said that the uncle, who had just joined the group, gave her the food. He guessed that Chu Yunsheng was not satisfied with the food and wanted to leave. Probably that was why he did not touch it at all. Even Zhao Shanhe, who he trusted the most, also ate half a bowl of porridge. If he did not eat, why would he fight for them?

“What do you mean? Leave?” Chu Yunsheng did not know what he was talking about.

Lao Chui dazed for a second then said, “you are not leaving?”

Chu Yunsheng shook his head, the reason why he joined Lao Chui’s group was not for the food they provided. He had storage talismans, which could supply enough food for his needs. It was because he suddenly had an inexplicable feeling of wanting to see people around him, and wanting to be part of a group. That feeling came out of nowhere and it made him accept their offer without even thinking about it. When he realized what happened, he was already in the group.

Later on, he had actually thought about the benefit of joining a group, and it was actually not a bad idea at all. After all, he and the little tiger could not travel twenty-four hours non-stop, and they still needed time to sleep and recover their strength, but Lao Chui had vehicles, they could change drivers, and travel twenty-four hours non-stop.

He did not know how far they would need to travel in order to bypass the radiation zone, and what else would happen to the 150km journey in front of them, but as long as he could get to Jin Ling city sooner, that was still not a bad deal.

After Lao Chui understood what Chu Yunsheng meant, he was finally relieved. If they didn’t have those awakened warriors, they couldn’t even defeat one insect.

Since Chu Yunsheng said that he had already given it to the little girl, the rice porridge went back to the little girl again. But then the little girl wanted to give it to her mother. So after her mom took a small sip, she gave it to Lao Chui. But Lao Chui did not eat it, he took it back and gave it to the pregnant woman.

The girl’s mother could not thank Chu Yunsheng enough. She finally stopped until Zhao Shanhe shouted loudly to ask everyone to get back to the car.

Then the group started to move again.

They were very lucky when they were driving along the radiation zone. They did not encounter any monsters. Instead, they saw three helicopters.

When they saw the military helicopters, everyone ran out of the vehicles excitedly. Some even stood on top of the vehicles and shouted loudly for help.

Huang Renkuan was the most excited one, he even took Tian Weidai’s gun and fired several shots, he hoped that it could attract their attention.

However, those people on helicopters did not seem to have slowed down at all. They quickly flew over them and flew straight into the vast radiation zone, and then slowly disappeared in everyone’s sights.

Huang Renkuan did not care about his calm and superior image anymore. He stood on top of the vehicle and cursed loudly. He claimed that once he got to Jin Ling city, he would definitely find out who those guys were, and punish them harshly.

Chu Yunsheng sat inside the vehicle. He did not move. Because he knew that the military would not risk soldiers’ lives and send out helicopters to perform a search and rescue mission. They were definitely on an important mission, and there was no chance that they would change their direction because of a group of survivors.

They had to rely on themselves.

Chu Yunsheng tried to spend all his time to speed up Rong Yuan Body’s transformation. His sword fighting technique was limited by his strength, that was why it could only unleash six sword Qi. He was still very weak.

It was okay if he encountered a few monsters, but if he encountered a swarm or that golden-shelled insect, then he would be dead for sure.

Also, he had used all his offensive talismans, and his Ben Ti Yuan Qi has not been fully restored yet, so he still had so many things to do.

If he reached Yuan Tian stage three, he would be able to make a lot of monster seal talismans, he would be able to use them to seal a lot of monsters, and use them as cannon fodders.

At the same night, one of the vehicles broke down unexpectedly. Lao Chui tried to repair it as soon as possible with other people. Chu Yunsheng knew that he couldn’t help them in any way, so he just leaned against his seat to take a nap. He had been cultivating Yuan Qi for the whole day, so he really needed some rest.

Li Yue and Zhao Shanhe had another argument for the route they needed to travel. Zhao Shanhe thought that they were in need of food supply, so while they were traveling along the radiation zone, they could go to the nearest town to find some food. But Li Yue thought that even if they were hungry, they still needed to speed up, if they could not find any food in the nearest town, it would only waste more time, so he preferred to carry on their journey without any delay.

This time Huang Renkuan did not say anything. But he secretly supported Li Yue.

Li Yue criticized Zhao Shanhe for having excessive sympathy for other people. It was the Dark Age, it was the troubled times, so surviving should be the main goal.

But Zhao Shanhe disagreed. He said that Li Yue had already lost his humanity. The people in Lao Chui’s group had not eaten for three days, people were going to die, if they could not find any more food. How could he just eat their food and abandon them when they needed him. It was the act that only animals would do.

They had an unpleasant dispute and eventually broke up without coming to an agreement. Later that night, when Zhao Shanhe went out, Li Yue secretly approached Chu Yunsheng and said, “Brother Chu, the situation is very clear now. We can not listen to Zhao Shanhe anymore, otherwise, we are all gonna die. Now, amongst seven people, Huang Renkuan is neutral, Witch and Chef already told me that they will be on my side. As long as you agree with me, the fence-sitter Tian Weidai won’t say anything.”
