One month later. Pharherb lab. Inside one of the large glass tube filled with liquid, is a man with black hair and a chisel body. In front of the glass tube are three people wearing a white coat checking for the man's condition.

 

“Finally, we succeeded!” Elena cheered.

 

“How many times we failed.” Devin sighs in relief.

 

“Take some rest, I will take over after this.”

 

After both of them left. I look at my second body. To be precise my second body is no longer considered a human. If people do a deep check the body gene is different from humans. For the body soul there is none, even if there is one I will destroy it.

 

Now I need to split my soul. But first I need to go to my room to prepare. After checking my second body one more time I leave the lab room. 

 

A lot of things have happened during this month. Blood Shield mercenaries have been recognized as Rank B mercenaries.

 

The Blood Shield success rate in completing missions is high. But to get Rank A is almost impossible because the mercenary needs to take a mission involving intergalactic war between species. We still don’t have the enough spaceship and crew to get involved in large scale war.

For the assassination of the head branch of a powerful family. The government and powerful main family are having a headache. Because the way the assassin kills the victim is by strangling. I deliberately used my mindless puppet to kill by using my bare hand. The mindless puppet can use all weapons to kill people because they are being controlled by me.

This is the side effect of using the soul splitting technique if you lose control.

 

The pain is still like I remember. After screaming for a long time, I begin to quiet down. My body is full of sweat and tears. At the same time inside my body there are two identical souls that look like orbs. Different from the Assiorath world, this time I have absorbed soul energy and the damage caused by soul splitting is slowly healing.

 

I begin to stand up slowly and go to take a shower. After that I go to bed and sleep. I am exhausted.

Human federation has colonized many planets and each planet has been labeled into grade. The lowest started from E, D, C, B, and A the highest. Some planets used to be a high grade planet but fell to the lowest grade. Because of natural disasters or their resources have become useless or depleted. There are many other reasons but that planet will not be monitored strictly by the federation and become an unlawful planet. 

 

Planet Vedion. The planet is mostly covered by barren land and desert. The plant here looks like a cactus. Blood shield mercenaries have been given a mission to destroy a rebellion. Human and other species here live a harsh life.

 

At night a spaceship is flying above the desert.

 

“Our target is a group called themselves the Sand mole. Kill them, and don’t take anymore orphans!” Liam only can give them a warning. Because they are much stronger than him.    

 

Several people make a guilty face. Especially Sara, Arian and Mia. Zoey at that time supports Mia's decision because of that he gets reprimanded by Liam. The environment on Vedion is hostile, children here that don’t live in the city have a low chance of survival. To survive their parents sold them as slaves.

 

Vedion government have abolish slavery long time ago. But soon they found a loophole from the law. The slave trader called themselves orphanage and for the slave is called orphan.

 

Since then civilian on Vedion called the slave, orphan. The government seeing that done nothing to change the law. Instead close their eyes, because the slave or orphan benefit them. 

 

The slaves after long time of abuse decided to rebel and created a rebellion groups. The Vedion try to fight back but their number is many. And the rebel can always find a new member from the slave trader or orphanage.

 

The Blood shield mercenary has two choices after destroying the rebel group. Leave the orphan or take them. Majority decided to take them and give them to the government. But what they found out made them reconsider their decision. It’s like two sides of the same coin. The orphan will suffer.

Since then every innocent orphan has been taken by them. Liam tried to prevent it, but it was useless. The orphan realizes how their life is better than before. They work hard in any way to make the spaceship clean and help with any miscellaneous job.

 

The problem right now is that there are too many. Liam decided this is the last mission he will take before returning to Teria. He also needs to explain this to Mr. Sylas. Just thinking about this makes his stomach and head hurt. At the same time he hopes that Mr. Sylas doesn't use them as a test experiment.

 

Their spaceship gets closer to the rebel base. They can see many tents. Without waiting for anything, a mounted railgun and laser appear below the spaceship and begin attacking all the vehicles that look like a hovercraft on the ground. Thanks to the monetary reward they get from the mission and the captive that they save. They have bought a new spaceship and upgraded it with a new weapon.

 

“Kaboom!”

 

“Boom!”

 

“What's going on!”

 

“We are under attack!”

 

“Take cover!”

 

The rebel guard and the people inside the tents are shocked from the sudden attack.

 

After targeting all the vehicles. The spaceship flies lower and opens the hatch. five people jump down. The rebel tries to fight back but their equipment and firearms to attack the spaceship have been destroyed.  

 

Like a killing machine the five people kill any rebel they can find. After the massacre they found a captive and orphan.

 

Liam once again begins arguing with the rest of the group.

 

“This time I say no; we will give them to the government!”

 

“How can you be so cruel, if you return them, their life will not change!” Sara spoke.

 

“Leader, why not bring them inside the spaceship first. We can discuss this later.” Arian spoke.

 

“You can’t trick me, every time I agree in the end you all don’t want to let the government take them!”

 

The orphan or slave is wary of them while they are talking. The slaves have only a few are adults; the majority are children and teenagers. They are unsure of their fate. After being sold by a parent or a relative. They have no way out. Suddenly, a middle-aged man with blonde hair approaches them.

 

“My name is Logan, we are the Blood Shield mercenary. Do you have a place to go or a family?”

 

The slaves shake their heads. The reason Logan asks is because some of them are being kidnapped and then being sold to the slave trader.

 

“Follow me inside the spaceship and let’s eat something.” Logan also talks to the captives and after that asks them to enter the spaceship with the slaves.

 

The slaves at first hesitate and then follow. By the time Liam looks at the slaves it's already too late. All of them have already entered the spaceship.

 

“Damn it.” Liam can’t do anything once the slaves are inside the spaceship. He can only sigh.

The rebel compare to the Vedion government is weaker. The reason the government can’t completely eliminate them because of the government policy and corruption. The president of Vedion after discussion, decided to hire a mercenary. But soon they find out from their spy. The mercenary collaborate with the rebel to squeeze the money from Vedion government. They can hire federation hunter but no federation hunter wanted to take the mission. 

 

The reward is not proportionate with all the preparation and work. With this type of mission normally it required more than fifty people. Unlike Blood Shield mercenaries, they only have nine people. Liam, Sara, Gianna, Dylan, Mateo, Zoey, Arian, Logan and Mia.

 

Because of the Blood Shield mercenary result. The Vedion president is happy, but it causes other mercenary that try to take advantage of the situation disgruntled.
