The sound of horses running fills the air in a dark forest. A full moon light shine around them. Fog hangs eerily around the trees and road. The leaves stand still as chill cold wind rushes along the road. There are men and women wearing steel plate armor riding on top of several horses. They spread out and cover a carriage from all sides. Two soldiers take the front as two on each side of the carriage, the rest follow up the rear and look all around.

The shadows dance malevolently around them as the fog grows thicker around them. owls screech in the distance as other also animals scream in the distance. A blood curtailing howl comes from behind them, the horses panic and try to throw their riders. Some get control of their horses and ride faster. Looking back, a beast in the fog catches up with some of the soldiers and rips them to shreds. The screams of the soldiers and horses fade quickly as they put more distance between them and the beast.

Their armor was rounded with a black raised eagle on their chests. Their shoulders were flat with rounded sides. Their rounded boots where flat with dull spikes on the heel. Chainmail could be seen between the cracks with hints of leather clothes beneath it. Their eagle shaped helmets were rounded with feather indents along the sides. Their faces were exposed as they showed fear and dread on their faces. Swords hang from their hips as kite shields where strapped to their horse’s side. The horses were panting heavily as their legs start to grow tied.

The soldiers spread out as a carriage follows behind. The wooden wheels creaking from the stress and speed. The fancy cabin with three windows and red curtains was painted white and brown with gold lining the seams. Three steps on the sides leads to a door with arrows sticking out of the side. Lanterns hang from the sides as the driver leans forward and whip the reigns. The four horses pick up more speed.

The drivers pale skin was covered by leather clothes and hood. His boots were worn from the elements as his grey beard covers his face. The cold air stung his skin as he focuses on the road. Both his arms slowly bleed from several injuries.

A hatch behind him opens and reveals a lighted interior. Driver, what is the commotion? Slow down this instant, a woman said. The driver looks down in fear as his lips tremble and hands shake. Sorry my lady, but we have picked up an unwanted tail, the driver said as he tries to hide his fear. Nonsense, no one in this region will harm me, the woman said with a cocky voice. I am sure they can be bought off by the gold I carry or my body, the woman said. Lady Azura, you’re a married woman, the driver said. You will keep this information quiet, or I will kill your children, Lady Azura said with a firm dark tone.

The path road takes a sharp turn, the soldiers and carriage lean left and flow through the curve and pick up speed again. My stupid husband keeps wasting his power, I deserve better then what he gives me, Lady Azura said with a prideful voice. The driver reaches down and closes the hatch as a soldier rides up next to him. Captain what’s wrong? The driver asked. They are catching up with us, he pauses as he catches his breath. I fear Dark elves, he stops as something sharp pierces through his back.

An arrow comes from behind and strikes the captains horse in the head. it drops down forward, flips and crushes the captain. The other swerve to avoid it as they start getting picked off one by one. The driver looks back and sees several shadows and screams of the soldiers in the distance. His heart racing faster and faster as armor cracks and bones break. Whirling rings out as the carriages horses scream in pain. Blood flies into his face as the horses collapse, a horses leg flies up and strikes the driver in the head. The carriage bumps up and down violently as it pulls sharply to the left and raises up and flips. The driver is thrown from his seat and off to the right.

He crashes onto the ground as his left arm breaks and the carriage lands on its right side shattering the lanterns. Flames creep along the sides as the driver gasps for breath as the pain was unbearable. The soldiers come to a stop and dismount immediately. Circling around they draw their swords and raise their shields. A soldier rushes over and helps the driver up onto his feet. Thanks, the driver said as he focuses on standing. A whirling sound rings out. You’re the soldier stops as the Drivers head was sliced off. Blood shoots from the neck and covers the soldiers face. Stepping back in horror as his heart races out of control, looking around as his breath shortens and quickens. Looking to the carriage and seeing two soldiers on the side reaching in.

A shadow shoots across the ground, gasps rings out as soldiers pull Lady Azura from the carriage. Lady Azura drops to the ground as they reach in again. The flames slowly creeping up the sides. Crying rings out as the soldiers pull another woman from the wreck and jump down. Lady Azura’s skin was tanned with heavy makeup on her rounded face. Her light blue dress was torn in several locations, her heel shoes sink into the mud. Her blond hair was dishriveled.

The other woman’s red frill dress was covered in mud. Her sun kissed skin was slightly wrinkled as her red hair was covered in mud. She rises to her feet as the screeching of the animals comes to a deathly quiet. The soldiers surround the Ladies as the carriage is fully engulfed in flames. The orange glow shines off their armor as the fog creeps in closer. A female soldier runs up to the ladies with swords in her hands. My lady, please take this, the soldier said with concern in her voice. Why, you’re supposed to protect us, Lady Azura said with hatred in her voice! We have little choice, the soldier said.

The ladies take the swords and pull them from the sheathes. Lady Azura reaches out with her left hand and takes the soldiers shoulder. Thrusting the blade under their right arm, Lady Azura pulls the blade free. Watching the soldier fall to the ground, they turn over as Lady Azura stabs the soldier in the throat and twists the sword violently. Pulling the sword free, do as I say, or you die like her, Lady Azura said as blood drips from her sword.

The air starts to steam, a females laughter breaks out all around them. So, this is what you people became, the female voice stops. The soldiers step back shoulder to shoulder as they form a half circle in a shield wall. Pathetic, the female voice said. Out of twenty-five soldiers, only fourteen are left, she said. Two defenseless women, the female voice said with distain. Cowardly assassin, Lady Azura screams out. Cowardly? The female voice laughs. I was giving you a fighting chance, my friends have you surrounded, the female voice said.

Lady Azura tightens the grip on her sword as her anger boils over. I will pay you handsomely, Lady Azura said. We Dri’shura have accepted the contract on your life, the female voice said. I have plenty of gold, even my lover her will pay you handsomely as well, Lady Azura said. Your gold does not concern me, I do this out of justice, she’ya, the females voice said. The other woman steps forward, I know you called us pig humpers, I learned the elven language, I am Lady Arura, daughter of Celathorn, she said with empathy in her voice.  Dropping her sword, I know the bloody history, please spare us, Lady Arura said. Why would I spare scum like you? You have betrayed your own husband to have an affair, the female voice said.

So, you know as well, Arura’s said as her face turns to anger. Limp dick, he could not pleasure anyone, Lady Arura screams out. I only married him for his money, land and political influence, Lady Arura screams. Azura is the only one that is actually going places, Arura said.

A thump rings out in the distance. The soldier tighten their grips on the swords and grip the shields tighter. I was giving you a fair chance, the Female voice said. A dark Elf emerges from the fog.

Her soft diamond face was pale as the moon her lush lips were bare. Her topaz eyes where surrounded with blue eyeshadow with white war paint in white feather pattern. White line curve and run over her eyes with a grey patch on her forehead. Her long purple hair extends past her shoulders with her long-curved ears protrudes above her head. long bone lines run from the base of her ears down to her lower jaw. Her elegant dark silver, black curved metal armor clung to her upper chest and reveals her midsection. Blue lines run along the seams of her Jagged rounded shoulders. Her arms down to her hands were covered in rounded armor with long pointed fingers. Her waist was coved with metal and leather with her upper leg armor extends up past her waist. Her elegant round legs had a flat base with a jagged toe tip.

Walking forward with a stride and wielding a curved crescent sword in her right hand. the top blade arcs forward the dark elf’s head and the other blade curves tips away. Each blade has serrated edges on the back of each curve. The hilt has black color with a silver swirling pattern. Crescent crossguards point up and down. Two daggers hang from the back of her waist.

Coming to a stop, she raises her weapon and looks the soldiers over with a careful eye. I guess you should know my name as the last insult I will give you, the dark elf said with a sick smile on her face. The soldiers looks to each other and back to the assassin. Maryia, Daughter of the elven lord, she said with hatred in her voice. Bending her knees, she lowers herself and raises her weapon and holds it to her right side. Maryia feels the darkness flowing through her body as her anger builds. A storm brewing waiting for release as she tightens her grip.

Lady Azura and Lady Arura look to each other and back to Maryia. Soldiers, forward, 100 gold for whoever can capture her, Lady Azura screams. Half the soldiers rush forward as the others stayed behind. The rushing soldiers reaches Maryia and group together and link their shields together. Maryia leaps into the air, twisting and spinning as she thrusts her right leg forward and slams into the shields shattering their line. The soldiers stumble back as Maryia lands on the ground.

A female soldier rushes forward, swinging her sword. Seeing the strike, Maryia moves her blade and parries the strike and slides it into the cross guard. Quickly spinning and stepping around to the left. Maryia comes to a stop as blood drips from her weapon.

The female soldier splits in half and collapse to the ground. Maryia reaches out and wipes the blood from her blade with her index and middle finger. Rubbing the blood across her lips and sucking in and flicks her fingers. Pulling in her lips and making a kiss expression. Thanks, I could use more makeup, Maryia said with a mocking voice. Sniffing the air, Maryia detects a strong scent and chuckles.

Three arrows strike three random soldiers, hitting the ground the other begin to panic. Some take off running and are shot down with arrows. Only eight soldiers left, Maryia said. Two soldiers rush forward as four other soldiers move right and left.

A male soldier moves on the right moves ahead as the others stop, lowering himself and rises his shield as a female soldier moves around and heads for Maryia’s back. After a few seconds he slams into Maryia, pushing her back ten feet. Looking down with a smile, Maryia raises her knee and strikes the shield away as she leaps spins and slices off the soldiers head. Landing, she digs her left foot under the head and kicks the head away.

The female soldier rushing in as she swings wildly. Maryia blocks and parries with smooth motions and knocks the sword out of the soldiers hand. The soldier clenches her right hand and strikes. Dodging the punch, Maryia spins and elbows the soldiers head. A loud crunch rings out as Maryia wraps her left arm around the soldiers arm and quickly breaks it. The soldier screams as Maryia rips the shield free from the soldiers arm and slams it into her chest. The soldiers armor caves as her rips break as the shield crushes her heart. The solder hits the ground as Maryia turns and faces the soldiers with bloodlust in her eyes.

Panic sets in as the soldiers visibly shake as their metal armor clanks together and rings out. Lady Arura looks around with frustration on her face as she grinds her teeth. Face your death with her or die by my hand, Lady Arura said with a venomous voice.

The soldiers run forward as Maryia leaps into the air. Coming down she kicks a soldier in the head and slams her into the ground. Planting her right foot on the soldiers neck and applies some pressure. The soldier gasps for breath as she slams her pommel into Maryia’s legs. Feeling the strike, Maryia laughs. Another soldier thrusts their sword towards Maryia’s midsection. Seeing the attack, she steps to the side. A loud crack rings out as the soldier under Maryia’s foot hand hits the ground.

The attacking soldier crashes into her and pushes with his shield. Maryia laughs as she slashes upwards and sideways in a blinding motion. The soldier right arm falls to the ground as his midsection starts to bleed. Maryia jumps and kicks the soldier in the chest as she flicks her wrist and throws her weapon. The weapon spins in a circular motion, slicing through the moons light as it arcs around and heads for the soldiers in front of her. The soldiers duck and crash into the mud as one raises their shield, Maryia watches as her weapon slices the soldier in half and imbeds itself in the trunk of a tree. The soldier in front of her looks back, feeling cold metal on his neck. Maryia snaps it swiftly and watches him drop with his head in the mud.

Lady Azura looking shocked as she saw how fast Maryia moved. Five left, Lady Azura said under her breath. Gripping her sword, Lady Azura runs forward and lowers her sword. The remaining soldiers getting up and rush to the sides. Lady Azura thrust and quickly follows through with an upper slash. Maryia steps to the side with a smile on her face as she reaches back and pulls a dagger from her back.

The long curved dark steel dagger has serrated edges. Flipping the dagger around, Maryia counters the upper slash and pushes down. Striking with her left hand, Maryia knocks teeth and blood from Lady Azura’s mouth as she stumbles back. Pain surges through her mouth as blood pools in her mouth. Two soldiers crash into Maryia and push with their shields as another two thrusts with their swords.

Raising her dagger, she counters as she spins quickly and lowers herself down and slashes with relentless fury. The soldier jump back as their adrenaline surges and their fear fades away. The last soldier comes rushing from behind and strikes Maryia with the edge of their shield. Feeling the dull pain in her back and laughs, unleashing a blinding amount of kick and slashes the soldiers stumble back. Breathing heavy, the soldier steady themselves. I guess I should stop playing, Maryia said.

With a flick of her wrist, the dagger flies and strikes the soldier behind her. The dagger imbedding itself in the soldiers left eye. They drop to their knees as their head erupts and is split open. The other soldiers, looking with confusion as they wondered what just happened. Lady Azura looks around and watches as her soldiers were cut down in a rapid movement. After a minute of screams, Lady Azura stumbles back as she witnesses the soldier mutilated before her eyes.

No, it’s not possible, not even an elf can move that fast, Lady Azura said with a stutter. Pain erupts from her right side as blood seeps through. Seeing Maryia on her right, Lady Azura swings her sword through the pain. Maryia parrying the strike with her dagger and quickly kicks Azura in the right leg. Stumbling, Azura swings again with a lower slash and follows through with an upper slash. Maryia jumps and kicks, landing she slashes Azura’s legs. Bloods drips from the Azura’s legs as she falls to her knees. Taking her sword and pushes it into the mud and tries to stand up. Azura standing halfway up before falling back to her knees.

All my plan and ambitions, my future, I was to be high chancellor, Azura said with venom in her voice. Maryia channels the darkness and focuses on her weapon and commands it to come. It rips itself from the tree and flies towards her. Reaching up and catching the blade with her right hand and holds it to Azura’s throat. Your husband hired us to kill you, your bastard children will live in the gutters, Maryia said with hatred. Azura looks up to Maryia, impossible, he does not knows anything, she said with conviction. Maryia flips her dagger around and quickly slashes from bottom to top. He, could, Azura stops as a sharp pain rip through her chest. Blood seeps through her dress as her guts slide out.

Maryia spins and twists her body as she slashes upward and cuts off Azura’s head. It bounces and rolls towards Lady Arura, she drops her sword as sweat runs down her head. Running forward, she heads for Maryia with determination.

Please spare me, Arura said with fear in her voice. lifting both her hands into the air, I surrender, I can fetch a good ransom, Arura said. Maryia sheathes her dagger and sets holsters her weapon on her back. I don’t need a ransom for you, Maryia said with a firm voice. A look of joy emerges on Arura’s face. Go, get out of here, Maryia said with a firm voice. Arura turns and walks away. Maryia, pulls her weapon from her back and thrusts the blade upwards and through Arura’s chest. You said I could go, Arura said with painful voice. Maryia pulls her weapon free and watches her fall to the ground. You’re free to go to damnation human filth, Maryia said.

Arura rolls onto her back and looks to Maryia with fear in her eyes. Maryia bends down and sheathes her weapon and kneels over Arura’s chest. Maryia clenches her fists and begins punching Arura in the face.

The sound of bones and flesh breaking and ripping echoes in Maryia’s ears. The screams of her family echo through her head as he eyes swell with tears. Arura’s face breaks with each hit, pain rips through her as Maryia continues beating her to death. The screams of her mother ring out as her father’s legs were broken. Minutes pass until Arura’s head was nothing but paste on the dirty mud. Raising to her feet, she looks to the moon. the wind swirls around her as leaves gently dance around her as blood drips from her hands.

Two thumps ring out behind her, two dark elf males in elegant silver, black armor stop behind her. My lady, are you ok? The right elf asked. His smooth spiked armor clung to his body. The incurved angles flowed into his chest. His metal rounded angled mask hangs to his face as his black hair slides out from the sides. A hood covers the rest of his head. Flicking his head to the side, the fog slowly clears away. His rounded arms and had several scratches along the sides. In his right hand he holds a long spear with a long-curved blade with an opening in the center. I am fine Caliban, just a few bruises, Maryia said. Caliban looks to his companion, Elidan, did anyone get away? Caliban asked.

Elidan’s armor was lighter with leather straps across his chest with metal plates. His engraved wolf shoulders dimed in the light of the moon. His hood covers his head with metal prongs over his nose and covers his cheeks. His gauntlets and boots had black fur along the edges. Belts where strapped to his waist with a quiver on his waist. Another quiver hangs over his right shoulder. His elegant metallic bow hangs over his left shoulder.

Focusing his thoughts and closing his eyes. Elidan feels the manifestation of his darkness sniffing the air as it focuses on sounds. Opening his eyes, I don’t smell or hear any humans breathing or running, Elidan said.

She looks away from the moon, I will never be ok, the pain, the loss and destroyed any hope I have for a better world, Maryia said. You still cling to our failure, Elidan said. No, you did noy fail us, you two were lucky to survive the fall of our people, Maryia said with a fluctuation in her voice. Our task is done, lets head back to collect our payment, Caliban said. Are you sure all the humans are dead? Maryia asked.

They are, I used poisoned arrows, they died in a few minutes, Elidan said. I had Fenris secure the area and kill anyone that tried to run from the area, Elidan said. Did Fenris kill anyone not associated with this filth, Maryia said. Elidan shakes his head from side to side. Maryia smiles, good, I want this to be a clear message to the humans, Maryia said.
