Chapter 3: Chapter 2- Fracturing of humanity

January 11th 2597 aboard the flagship Imp 1: I was laying on my bed as i was hung over from last night next to me was my uniform which was a white jacket with gold buttons and epaulets, black pants and boots. I get up and put on my uniform I check myself in the mirror to make sure my uniform was on correctly. after that I took a tablet to get rid of my hang over and headed to the bridge of the ship where the other officers were also summoned for a meeting. as i leave my quarters two of my marines follow behind me they were wearing urban combat uniform with black plated armor and were armed with Mk 29 automatic blaster rifles.

five minutes later i arrived at the bridge to find myself to be the last one to arrive. I got a couple stares from the lower ranking officers but for the most part every one ignored me as I took a seat to listen to what the admiral has to say.

Admiral Pershing- "My subordinates I have some very grave news for you all." he paused for dramatic effect "for the empire of man is no more, as it has been dissolved by the corrupt politicians on earth. so what I ask is simple to help me retake the empire and restore the grand council!"

there was talk from the officers in the room some were in support others were undecided some believing it an impossible task. I was with the last group as humanity before its collapse held millions of planets in the galaxy and was so decentralized it was a miracle that we as humans didn't start fighting each other centuries earlier.

Admiral Pershing- "silence every one, I have decided that the first course of action is to set up a council to advise me on all matters." as he was talking all I could think about was going to get a drink. "I have also already selected my advisers and there positions, step up when I call your name. duke John Gayle, marine commander Ace Kaiser, Dr. Chen, and finally general Calvin Silver." I got up as did the rest of those called "everyone else is dismissed, and have a great day." 

we all received our positions on the council I was put in charge of the naval forces, duke Gayle was put in charge of finances, Dr. Chen was in charge research and development and General Silver was put in charge of the armed forces. most of us were reluctant but he gave most of us some pretty cool stuff as bribes. Duke Gayle was on board with the whole thing so no bribes, Dr. Chen was given a research facility, I was given Governorship of the planet Ventus a planet in the Ares region, and finally general Silver was given a massive amount of slaves and a ocean side villa on the planet Ares.

After the whole thing ended I went back to my quarters to rest for the rest of the day. the bedroom has a glass cabinet filled with alien heads but other than that there was nothing noticeable. in his bed was a woman in a gray officers uniform who was asleep who was one of my lovers. I went to bed next to her and went to sleep.
