With that, Seria began hesitantly making her way toward the town centre.
Now that I had some peace and quiet, I could finally begin farming.
Using the tool that Seria gave me earlier, I stabbed it into the dirt. The soil around our shack was much looser than the place we stayed before. Whatever the case, since this was a fantasy world and all, I assumed that it shouldn’t matter too much.
After making some markings in the ground, I began planting the beans. I gave Seria fifteen to sell so I still had fifteen on me. Dropping them into the small holes, I spaced them out with enough room and planted them all.
[+5 EXP]
[LEVEL UP!]
Huh? Apparently, I got experience for planting the seeds as well, granted it was only 1/3 of a single EXP point per bean. I decided to have a look at what rewards were in store for me. Hopefully, something that’d make my life easier, although I didn’t have anything specific in mind that I wanted.
[Rewards!]
[+10 Tokens! (Reduced)]
[Inventory UNLOCKED!]
[Plant Unlock: Power Bean!]
[EXP Until Next Level: 122]
So I got another plant and a very minuscule number of tokens as my reward… it was quite underwhelming, but I assumed that it was due to the fact that I had quite a number of debuffs. I decided to open my shop and have a look at what I could get, I still hadn’t checked the ‘utility’ section.

[FARMERS SHOP] - UTILITY - BUY
- Infinite Watering Can {Cost: 8}
~
As one can see, there are not a lot of choices. Still, the [Infinite Watering Can] sounded like a good purchase. I was pondering the possibility that I’d need to water my plants, even though they somehow managed to grow without water earlier. The quality of the soil around our shack was much worse, so the plants would probably need an external water source.
With that in mind, I decided to just spend eight tokens and buy it.
You can imagine a sound effect here. Anyways, the [Infinite Watering Can] quickly appeared in my hand. It was small and mettalic… actually, now that I look at it, it’s very small. There was already water in the can, but as I quenched the thirst of my several beans, I noticed that it very quickly ran out.
Hold on. This is meant to be infinite, is it not?
Observing it for a little while, I noticed that water was slowly generating within the inside of the can. I see now… it takes time for it to regenerate.
Well, it’s better than nothing.
I was able to place it into my {Inventory}.
Now that I’d planted and watered my plants, there wasn’t much else for me to do. Until I could harvest them again, I wouldn’t be able to make significant progress. I guess I’d spend this time cleaning out the dilapidated hut that we’re supposed to be living in.
Making my way inside, I scraped some of the dirt and other shit on the bed off. It was disgustingly hardened over the top, making it very difficult to remove fully. Looking around, it seemed that our home actually had a toilet, which was unexpected, although, as you’d expect, it was not a very elegant one.
Spending an hour or so, I slowly tried to make the hut as hospitable as I could. Eventually, I was able to scrape most of the junk off of the wooden bed, giving me a relatively comfortable spot to lie down.
*
“Rin, are you there?”
“Yeah, did you manage to sell the beans?”
“I-I did… at the cost of my dignity…”
“Ah, that’s good and not good. Anyways, how much did you get?”
Seria made her way into the hut, looking around at the slightly cleanlier interior. Taking a seat beside me on the bed, she showed me some coins.
“I got three bronze, for whatever that’s worth.”

“Did you take a look at the prices of items in the city?”
“Erm…”
“It’s fine. We can go together tomorrow. I’ve been wanting to have a look around as well.”
Seria reclined against the wall and sighed. It seemed that she went through a lot while in the city.
“Actually, a few minutes ago, I unlocked a goddess ability!” Seria suddenly commented.
“Really? What does it do?”
“It’s like a fertiliser that makes plants grow slightly faster.”
“Ah, well, that’ll be useful. I planted some beans outside.”
Instead of immediately heading off as I would expect, Seria was still looking at me with a smug yet annoyed face.
“What’s the matter.”
“Don’t you have something to say to me?”
“I do?”
“You know. You’ve constantly been calling me useless.”
“I don’t see what you’re getting at.”
“You know… don’t you have something to say…?”
“Say what?”
“Something that’d make me feel a little bit better?”
“I’m not sure what you want me to say.”
“Ugh! You’re so annoying! I just want you to say sorry, okay?!”
“I was just kidding. I’m sorry for calling you useless, Seria.”
At last, her expression changed.
“Thank you~ also, tell me that I’m a bubbly, adorable girl!”
“No can do.”
“Geh… how come?!”
“Because I’d be lying.”
Ow. I received quite a painful kick in the shin. With that, Seria stormed outside. Finally, she began fertilising the plants or whatever she was doing. As I looked out the door, I saw that she was producing something that looked a bit like fairy dust out of her palm.
I guess that’s the fertiliser of a goddess. Hopefully, it’ll make the plants grow faster.
I decided to make my way outside as well. The air inside of the hut wasn’t exactly of the greatest quality… travelling through mould and rot.
“Look, aren’t I amazing?”
“Making sprinkles out of thin air?”
“It’s not sprinkles. It’s fertiliser!”
“Actually, now that I remember. You said that you could check my stats and stuff, right? Can you do that now?”
“Ah. Well...”
