While Kaan was watching the woman, whose stabbing has stopped and stayed there like she was frozen, he heard people getting closer. When he turned around he saw the tough-looking soldier and Oscar running there. He sighed when he saw it because he didn't want it to be a big deal but it looked it would be.

Oscar gave you a slightly surprised look but then quickly walked next to the woman with careful and mild steps.

"What happened here?"

The soldier asked Kaan without taking his eyes off Oscar. His hands were on the trigger for any danger that can threaten them.

Kaan thought about how he should explain it for a few seconds.

"That guy was attacking her. I just helped her a little and she took care of him herself. That's all."

He said everything that happened. He saw that for once the soldier's face turned to him. He wasn't sure if he was displeased with his answer or if it was the default face he saw until now. Well, it wouldn't matter.

Oscar looked at Kaan and Liam and then sighed, maybe he shouldn't tell Liam what he had seen.

Oscar called Liam to him while slowly helping the woman, whose name was Ashley, who got up and gave her a sheet to cover herself.

Kaan saw the soldier head towards Oscar and also other people came. Emily and Thar got closer to him.

"Where there is something happening, you're there, right? Should we get used to this?"

He sighed as he said it with his joking undertone. He was kinda astonished at how many things were happening around Kaan or rather how he was able to find himself in trouble.

'Not that we're so different.'

Thinking about how they met with him, maybe this was their group's common thing, trouble.

Kaan didn't answer him and when Emily asked what happened there he told them how he found himself there. Emily nodded to them and after that, she walked towards where Oscar was.

"Aren't you going with her?"

Kaan asked to Thar watching Emily's leave.

"Nope, when we're coming hear Liam," He showed the tough-looking soldier with his index finger."Told a few people to increase the patrol, I'll join them."

"Did he also choose you?"

"No, I just wanted to join so my team members can sleep without worry."

He once again put that grin on his face like he was having fun. Kaan nodded, considering his personality it was not surprising for him to voluntarily join something like this. He then turned his back to the scene and began to walk towards the camp.

"You're leaving, won't you go there?"

Thar asked pointing the where the woman was standing now, surrounded by many people as Oscar gave her a quick check-up.

"No, there is no need for me."

Kaan answered him with an indifferent voice. He had already done his part and the weight on his heart was gone, he knew things would work out somehow now everyone was here.

Thar just smiled and waved to him as he was leaving for the forest.

When Kaan returned to the camp he saw people alerted as they were patrolling around the camp. Good thing they had seen the Kaan so he was able to return without problem. When he returned he saw Thar was sleeping there without knowing what was going on around the camp.

'He must've taken some medicine.'

Kaan saw the white bandages around his leg, Oscar must've taken care of him well.

He once again placed himself in a comfy position on the log. He deserved some good sleep without any distractions. Kaan really did have a good night's sleep that night, no darkness surrounding him nor any 'higher being' visiting him, just good old sleep but when he woke up he met with a surprise.

The woman from the night was sleeping where Thar and Emily were sleeping. She had a new set of clothes and bandages on her neck yet her complexion looked good. Now that Kaan could look at her over the newly rising sun he could say that she really had a beautiful face but none of them mattered. The question was why she was here.

When he looked around he saw that Emily was looking at her with a slightly awkward smile.

"She had no one and Oscar asked me if we could take care of her and that you helped her so I decided to her with us."

She emphasised the part Kaan saved her. Kaan looked at her and saw that she was looking at the woman with empathetic eyes, he could see that Emily got fond of her when he was sleeping. He thought about this matter for a while and then decided to accept that they had a new member on the team.

"You're finally awake?"

Thar, who had an exhausted but fresh face, said to him. He was wearing no shirt and he was sweat was dripping from all over his body.

"What's with you?"

"Just some morning military training, look there."

Thar pointed to the entrance of the east of the camp, where they entered the camp when they first came. There were many people training under the tough-looking soldier. All of the soldiers were present in the training but Kaan could see a few other people like Thar also joined the training.

"Hey, Dean. Stop looking at her like you are some kind of creep and come join to me."

Thar said with a Dean who was watching the woman.

"I- I don't do something like that!"

Dean suddenly got frustrated as he averted her eyes from her.

"He's just toying with you, Dean."

Emily said as she looked at with angry eyes to Thar who was grinning.

To her voice, the woman who had been sleeping slowly got up and looked at the group. Dean felt very awkward knowing that she heard the conversation and looked towards the forest in embarrassment.

"Good morning, Ashley. Are you feeling better?"

Emily turned her and said with a warm smile.

"Yes, thanks to you and sir Oscar, I'm feeling much better."

Ashyles answered Emily but her eyes wandered around until they stopped on Kaan. Suddenly her eyes looked strange, it reminded Kaan of the emotions he saw in her eyes when she was stabbing the man in her lowest state.

"Firstly, I thank you for saving me, thank you so much."

She lightly bend over towards the Kaan and said with a creaking voice. With a sudden apology and seeing her like this Kaan felt a little bit weird and wanted to this phase quickly end.

"You don't have to thank me, you took care of yourself."

Kaan said the truth, he didn't do much and it made this apology more awkward.

"No, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be able to do anything. I'll make sure to pay this favour back."

"Do as you want."

Kaan wanted to say she didn't have to but after seeing the determination in her hurt eyes he decided to let her do whatever she wanted.

"Thank you. Also, I want to say that you don't have to take me into your group. I know sir Oscar wanted this from you, Emily, I think I can handle it alone from now on."

Even if what she said wasn't what she want, she didn't want them to accept her because sir Oscar told them.

"I didn't take you here because Oscar wanted me to, this is what I want. And don't speak like that you are already a part of the group."

At first, it seemed she wanted to reassure Ashley but it also sounded like it was for the others in the group, 'she was already a part of the group'.

"Yeah, don't say it like that. Some of us already warmed up to you, welcome to the group."

Thar said to her, welcoming her to the group, and also teasing Dean.

Kaan was already okay with her actually, he thought it would be nice if she had some kind of utility abilities but it wasn't bad that they had more damage potential also he saw how she acted tomorrow night, she didn't seem like she would have a hard time adopting this world.

"Thank you all."

Seeing all of them accepting her like this Ashley's eyes got a little bit teary, after this madness, it was one of the rare moments she felt warm inside.

After the first meeting was ended Thar returned to the training and drag Dean along with himself. His leg seemed that it was mostly healed now as he didn't feel any pain when stepping on it. Ashley said she need to see Oscar and left after them.

Now that they were alone with Emily Kaan asked what she was planning to do and like he was expecting she decided to stay here, she also said that they were now creating teams for scout, scavenging and hunting and a team for building. She said this place was where they should be and they seemed trustworthy and also powerful. She also said that she was setting up a good relationship with the people.

"So, What about us? Have they let us be a team?"

"Yeah, about that, we have two additional people in our group."

"What?"

Emily sighed at Kaan's question.

"Oscar and Liam, that soldier we saw on the shanty, are coming with us."

"So they aren't trusting us, considering they are tailing us?"

"I don't think so, it's more like a measure. Not like it's just us they put a few soldiers to every team they created."

"But they have chosen us, right? They are the ones who administer this place most of the time, kind of the leader of this place and they have chosen us."

"You're right about that."

Emily couldn't say anything about it because what Kaan was saying seemed right. She didn't know if they were being hypocrites right now but it felt like they were paying 'extra' attention to them from the moment they entered to camp.

"But does it really matter? Let's just show them that they can trust and there'll be no problem."

Emily got up from the wood she was sitting with determination in her eyes. She wanted to create a safe place and this was the opportunity in her hands, she didn't want to let it go. Kaan agreed to her words.

"Where are you going now?"

Kaan asked her seeing her getting agitated.

"I was thinking of joining them, I can use a few muscles in this body. What about you, would you like to come?"

"No, I'll pass, I have something else in mind."

"All right, but whatever you do be here before the eight, that's when they'll declare the groups and begin to move."

Emily said to him, she thought he might find himself in trouble again.

"Okay."

Kaan answered her but it didn't really put her mind at ease she knew he wouldn't be in danger.

Kaan watched her go towards the training people and he also got up and headed towards the forest. It was time for a run.
