Kaan walked towards the inner parts of the forest. The forest looked beautiful in the morning; he could hear the chattering of birds and he felt better with the fresh air he breathed.

As he moved inwards the first thing he realized was that the trees began to get a hint of purple on their bodies. And as he move further some of their bodies had very clear purple taints on them.

It didn't really surprise him, the trees might also be changing like everything was changing with this madness going on. What surprised him was realizing the dead bodies of the small animals near these trees and an eerie feeling filled him inside.

His beautiful morning run turned into a scene from the horror movie once again and being alone in the middle of the forest increased the fear inside of him. He wanted to return to the camp side but he decided to at least have a look a little bit more into the forest. He only saw two zombies until now and nothing else seemed like they were a threat to him so there was no reason not to do but he put his guard up as the eerie feeling was still with him.

He continued a little bit further and what he saw made him speechless. Now fully purple tree roots were merging through the air as they began to create a large lair, many dead animals were visible around the lair they were creating.

Kaan felt the danger and death coming from that area so he didn't move further and quickly returned to the camp. He didn't know what was happening there but it was dangerous and near to the camp, they needed to take care of it before it became a full threat but he wasn't even sure what the thing they needed to take care of, to begin with.

When returned to the camp Kaan saw people surrounding the now extinguished campfire, in front of them, Liam and Oscar were standing. Kaan decided to talk about this matter at a later time as he

"You're finally here."

Emily said to him, she looked kinda worried when Kaan first saw her but her worry quickly disappeared when she saw him.

"It's not started yet?"

Kaan asked her when he took his place next to them.

"He'll probably start soon."

And like she said Liam began to speak and the area got silent as everyone focused on his words. Kaan looked at Liam and Oscar like everyone else. Liam had a strong posture and was giving off an authoritative aura as he looked at the crowd with a strict-looking face, on the other hand, Oscar looked more humble as he looked at the crowd with a smile on his face.

Liam spoke with his strong and lively voice and began to create the teams. He first created a building team, which included six people, they were people who had abilities that can level up by doing their assigned tasks. After that two guard teams, which had five people each, were created to guard the campsite when the other teams were absent. After that he created three scout teams which had six people in each, they would be the ones who would create connections with other survivors and look into usable items and bring them back.

Kaan also saw some children in the scout teams, it might be seen as cruel, and Kaan was sure there were people thinking like this in the camp, but like everyone, the children had to adapt to this new world and children were good at adapting. Actually, from some point, it was a good thing because they might not have someone who could defend them and this experience might come in handy in the future, that is if they could survive. Also while their weres two soldiers at most in normal teams, where teams had children there were three soldiers.

After the scout teams were created his eyes turned to your group and he looked at each of you individually.

"You will be with me. We'll be the first hunt team."

And with the creation of the first hunt team, the meeting was over and people were agitated as they began to do their own tasks. And like them, They also began to move under Liam's command. Liam gave a little introduction of himself for the group to know him and then Oscar followed him then everyone in the group did the same.

After the induction, Liam explained the reason to create a hunt team. This team was responsible of investigate the things that could be a threat and would take care of them and also they would act like a scout team and look for needed materials for the camp; a kind of all-rounder team. And their first destination was the hospital near the city centre.

As the group was established and they had to take on a dangerous task, they all shared pieces of information about their abilities to some extent. They had to know what they were capable of so they could fight around each other. Oscar had a healing ability that increased his success in medical operations and one supportive ability that increased the target's agility by forty percent for three minutes. Liam has an ability which was increasing the damage of his bullets and their team's new member's ability was creating glass shards that she can control at close range.

Kaan already knew others' abilities but Dean told he got a new ability which increased his own agility.

Now that everyone shared their abilities they were ready to go. When they head towards the city most of the teams left the campsite already.

The trip to the city was mostly quiet, they killed a few zombies that they came across and nothing unusual happened.

"Have you encountered a group named 'Fang' when you were coming to the forest?"

Liam broke the silence with his question.

"Yes, we saw two people they killed and had to fight with me."

Emily answered him as she remembered the strange feeling of killing someone for the first time.

"Good, then you must know they can be dangerous. Yesterday they attack one of our groups and nearly killed one of our units so if we ever counter them, you had to listen to my words, okay?"

Liam said to them if it was an order.

"I understand your worries about us getting hurt but we worked as a group and took care of each other just fine. I think we'll do without your instructions."

Emily politely said to Liam but she had no intention of going under his orders of him.

"I've seen wars and taken charge as a tactician. It's not about you'll do well without my instructions, it's for better results."

"I understand but we are not soldiers and we had the experience of fighting alongside."

Emily didn't step back.

Kaan watched them with quite an interest. He didn't mind which one of them would be this hunt team's leader, for now, he knew Emily was clever and cold blooded so it wouldn't be bad and the other one was a tactician from the military so both of them was fine, but the clash between similar personalities was kinda fun to watch.

"Well, let's not take this too far, both of you look suitable so share this task together. We didn't even if we'll be encountering them."

Oscar said with a smile on his face, he also looked like enjoying the debate between them. Liam lightly sighed and nodded to her and Emily accepted it.

Emily knew that she was not really being the wisest right now, he was a military tactician and of course, would lead them better than her. She just didn't want to go under someone whom she didn't know well, she didn't even know if they were trusting her and her group.

Another thing that made her not want to give full control was she didn't know what they were in the eyes of Liam. For Oscar, she thought he had a good personality even when he gave cold orders sometimes, she learned that he helped many people around the camp. As for Liam, she wasn't sure about it. She wanted to know if they were comrades in his eyes or just some useful unit or even worse some expendable people.

After that discussion was over they continued their way to the hospital near the city centre.

As they got closer to the city centre the zombie's number increased drastically and their progress was getting slower. Other than this, strangely, they stumbled upon more survivors near the city centre and most of them looked powerful as they hunted zombies.

Their movements stop with Liam's signal. He put on the machete he was using to fight with zombies and equipped his gun pointing to the street in front of them. Between the broken cars, there were five people. One of them was a man wearing a police uniform; he had his gun on his belt and a sword in his hands. He was the only one who currently holding the zombies for them and had a bothered look on his face.

The other one was a woman. She was wearing a white shirt and black jeans and both of them were stained with fresh red blood. She had an eerie smile on her face while she was holding a college girl; she had a school uniform on her and was crying in pain. There were fresh wounds all over her body where blood was leaking.

There were also a man and another woman who was wearing the same school uniform. Both of them had an exhausted and poor complex and they both had wounds on their bodies; they looked abused. The girl was looking at her friend who was currently tortured by the woman with a sad face, she looked like she wanted to do something but she couldn't. As for the guy, he already looked soulless as he looked at the ground.

"What're doing?"

Emily asked Liam in a quiet voice and came next to him. They were quite far away from them as they observed the situation. She wasn't sure about what to do; they could try to save them, and she would like to do it but they didn't have to. They couldn't help anyone they had seen and put their lives in danger for people they didn't know.

Like how the world changed, the values were also changing. She saw some other survivors passing by them without doing anything. It was not about if the thing they'd done was right or wrong, the important thing was if it was beneficial.

"Dean, Oscar and Thar will go towards them like the others survivors. When I shot the guy in the police uniform Dean, you will rush towards the woman holding the girl and Thar will take care of the zombies and protect the trio. Emily and I'll support you from the back. Understood?"

Well, even if the values were changing not everyone had to turn their heads to evil. After Liam's words, everyone agreed with the plan. Emily was pleased with the choice, she didn't want to leave the people in need, not at least without giving it a try.

"Okay, then let's start."

Liam said and took his position and focused on his aim on the policeman.

With the command of Liam, everyone began to move according to the plan and the first hunt of the team officially began.
