Kaan turned his head towards the fight taking place behind him as the zombies suddenly turned into dark blood and perished. He saw a head with three horns floating in the air. He could feel the suffocating feeling and darkness but it didn't cause any strain for him. Actually, it reminded him of when he saw the red eye floating inside the darkness in his dream, but he didn't feel any pressure this time. As for his team members, it was another story.

He could see their faces taking frantic expressions as they watched the floating head. He could see that they were not able to move nor they were able to make a sound but to his amazement, he saw Oscar put a knife from his waist with his trembling hand and then move towards to head; He clenched his teeth and looked at it with malicious eyes. Oscar was barely able to take steps but he was able to fight against the pressure.

As Kaan was observing the situation he felt the time begin to slow once again like when he used his ability but this time a card that didn't belong to him appeared in the air. The card looked very simple and on the front, it had a colourful globe surrounded by pitch-black darkness and on the back, it had a blood-crying eye. After a second that it appeared the card turned into white ash and a figure appeared from the ashes.

While Kaan was looking at this figure he was not able to tell what it was. He couldn't see its face or its body clearly as if there was a filter in his eyes stopping him from perceiving this being in front of him but he looked like a humanoid from the shape Kaan could barely see. He didn't feel any danger coming off from this being, rather he felt a warmth and he may have seen a smile on its face.

'The power that belongs to the user interfered with the system!'

'System tries to stop this problem, the owner will be under suppression until then!'

Kaan felt something start to bind him from the inside and he felt the pain start to spread along with this binding.

'Casualties…'

"Well, I didn't come here to listen to this annoying voice."

The being in front of him snap its fingers and the binding in his body and pain perished along with the system's voice.

"Better, right?"

Kaan looked at the being in front of him who had a vibrant voice. He was still unable to move.

'What are you?'

"What do you think? I want you to take a guess."

Hearing the being answering him like this, Kaan felt like the being was having fun with him but he was not totally sure. Kaan didn't know if it was a telepathic connection or if the being was just simply reading his mind but they were able to communicate.

'Are you the angel that following Emily?"

When Kaan asked the being turned towards Emily.

"Nope, I don't find these creatures suitable for my type, and by the way, it does more than just follow her."

The being commented on but didn't really explain what the angel was doing. It looked like it didn't want to be a part of that and he turned towards Kaan again.

"Come on, take one more guess."

'Are you the God?'

Kaan didn't like being stuck up with this being anymore and just guessed without much thinking and wanted it to come to the part where it said what it wanted.

"I don't think there is any 'The God' but yeah, looking at what you people called a god I'm kinda similar to it."

'Then what do you want?'

"Do you want to save that guy?"

The being asked while he was pointing his fingers towards Liam who was on his knees in front of the floating head. Its vibrant voice was still present.

'It's not what I want. We need him alive.'

"So you want to save him. Well, then let's make a deal. I'll help you to save his life and you'll help to save another life in your world in return."

Kaan looked at the floating head and at his team members. He was the only one who wasn't affected by the presence of the demonic head but he wasn't sure if he could stop the floating head with his current powers yet he was still not very keen on making a deal so he tried to think some other ways.

"I see you're thinking about it, then let me assure you that you have no way of killing that thing on your own. It wasn't something that should have appeared in this stage of the world you live in but it paid a high price for it and created a vessel but that guy just killed that vessel. There's no way that he'll let that guy go alive."

Kaan felt that the being was telling the truth but he was not very fond of this being in front of him who was talking about the fate of someone's life in his team as if it was not something important to him a vibrant voice but he didn't have many choices other than listening to it.

'You'll help me to save him and I'll help you to save someone you want.'

Kaan said to the being.

"Yes, that's all. Deal?"

The being extended his hand which had pure white skin. Kaan reached and grabbed the hand. He felt an unfamiliar feeling entering his body and a connection was made between the two of them.

"Now it's time for me to leave. Let me give you one more piece of advice before I leave Kaan…"

When he stopped talking for a second, Kaan felt a chilling feeling surrounding the being in front of him and for the first time, he saw its red eyes looking at him as if they were trying to pierce into his soul.

"Never trust the looks or the words of the ones like us, the bad and good are not always a strict line so only trust their actions and that'll show you who they really are."

The warmth once again returned but Kaan knew that those red eyes looking at him didn't have any warmth as he continued to look.

"So let's meet in the future, you'll know me then."

It said and perished into the white ashes as it came. As the white ashes slowly blended with the air as the time returned to normal.

'System has acknowledged your pact with ***. The pay for the interference of power that belongs to the user has been paid by the ***.'

'Skill 'Cards of Souls' tries to reach the user, the user has the compatible power to wield the skill. 'Cards of Souls' has been received by the user.'

The system's emotionless voice echoed in Kaan's head as time returned to normal. Then he felt a strange aura begin to cover the sword he was wielding. The aura was mild, it didn't seem as if it was anything strong yet Kaan could feel the chaotic power under the disguise of this mildness.

'You just need to stab it into its head and everything will follow after that, good luck!'

He heard the being's cheerful voice in his mind.

'Let's meet in the future, huh? Yes, let's meet, 'cause I want more from you.'

Kaan put a smile on his face and began to run towards the floating head. He didn't like this, how he needed to make a pact to save someone. He didn't know what or who that being was but he wanted more from it, he wanted a deal where he had the upper hand.

Kaan was sure in the future there will be many situations like this. They were just on the second day of this madness and these damned beings already began to play with their lives. He was angry but not with the being who offered the deal to him, he was irritated by his way of talking about their lives but maybe it was normal for it and in the end, it came to help them, his anger was towards this system. If these fucking beings could pay for the interference with their lives what they could do against them while they didn't even know what exactly was going on?

Didn't this system need to have some kind of protection for them or maybe it was fucked up from the beginning? The worst thing is they needed this system to fight against the 'supporter' trying to kill them.

They needed to get quickly powerful or they'll not be able to keep up with the plot of these supporters and he knew somewhere that even stronger people from this blood-worshipping woman were making deals with them to get even stronger.

'We need to get stronger so we will not yield against them.'

He thought as he looked at Oscar and Liam, they had the resolve to stand against this creature and it meant that everyone could, they just need to get stronger and exceed the limits of humanity for survival.

When he reached near to them, the head lifted his gold-shining eyes lightly towards the incoming Kaan and a surprised look appeared on his face. Kaan saw the blood sword standing next to the head lightly going down to the head of Liam and without giving it a chance Kaan pierced the floating head on its forehead.

The head looked as if it was trying to say something but it was too late, the once mild aura began to go wild and spread on his head while blue cracks appeared on the head and then it perished leaving dark ashes behind.

When the head perished time once again began to slow down. Kaan didn't know what was happening but then suddenly he felt a power begin to rise in his body.

It was really a weird feeling, he didn't know how but he knew that it was the new skill he received, 'Cards of Souls'. He didn't know why it suddenly activated itself but maybe it had the same logic as when he wanted to use the fire bolt, he could do it by just thinking about using it without touching the card, though what was happening now was not in his control.

The power that rose in his body began to gather around his hands and a dark matter which was created by that power began to reach towards where the head perished. While moving, the dark matter took a shape of a hand and then grabbed something in the air where the head perished, and then a card glowing dark appeared in front of Kaan.

On the front of the card, there was a creature in a humanoid shape who was wearing a black-red robe and a black uniform as if he belonged to royalty. He was holding a sword made of blood from the hilt with both of his hands and the sharp tip of the sword was on the ground. His gold-glowing eyes were looking at Liam with all maliciousness and the card had the presence of his when he was just a floating head.

The card perished into the black ashes along with the hand which was made of black matter and time returned to its normal flow.

'You've killed the first great-grade Demon Lord of Underworld. Some of the eyes of the Lords of the Underworld will be on you.'

'You gained the title The Way of the Demon Hunters.'

The first hunt was now really over and everyone was alive… for now.
