“Well, whenever you’re ready to leave, I guess.” Adeline’s mildly short remark came a few moments after Silas was well and truly out of earshot.
Yea, given how I was leaning on his connection to Eira, that makes sense… Though, this is weird for me as well.
Outright rejecting Silas was definitely going to upset my balance, as tenuous as it was, and I was still not entirely sure how I felt about things.
I probably could have handled that a bit better than I did.
“Well, we may as well go then. I take it you’re monitoring my health?” At this point, I was only asking for my peace of mind; there wasn’t a doubt that Adeline was monitoring me somehow.
“Mmm. Through the implant, considering everything that happened… well, whatever happened to you, you’re rather durable."
“…You are planning to get that thing out of me, right?” The idea of having something plugged into my head, with only a firewall between it and the Reflectech cult’s meddling… was as disturbing as ever.
“I am. Verify your status if you don’t mind? I can’t seem to access it.”
…So that means they weren’t lying about that, at least. I really did have some privacy after all. And, ok, yea should have done that right after I woke up. “Status… All.”
