Chapter 20: Chapter 19

All four of us spun around when we heard the snap but nobody from the camp responded to it

Strange are they that fast asleep?

Carefully walking over to the tent nearest to me

Yogi whispered "What are you doing" when he noticed my movements 

I placed my index finger on my lip and peeked inside of the tent that was already surprisingly open

It was empty. I checked the rest of the tents. All of them were empty as well

Yogi and the two students checked the bags that were left outside

All of them were empty as well. The campsite was basically a ghost town

If the tents are empty and along with the bags, that means one thing

All four of us rushed towards our campsite while at the same time members from class 1-2 were returning from our campsite in a similar manner

Did they get our statue? 

Reaching the campsite now, we saw that all the bags were tossed everywhere and opened but everybody else was still in their tents

Yogi walked up to a tree and punched it in a fit of rage but it wasn't a hard enough punch to actually hurt his hand 

"Damn it, I fell for her ruse and now we're screwed. They have our class item"

I chuckled to myself after witnessing that pathetic display of frustration by that class leader, it is a shame that such a useless leader had to be voted in thanks to Miss Aiko and now we're stuck with him for the while

While I helped picked up the bags now

The students started to exit their tents 

Yogi approached them with an aura of nervous 

"Did you guys sleep through that entire camp raid?"

A female student shook her head at him in a confused manner

"No Takeda told us to stay inside and don't come out until you guys came back"

Yogi looked a relieved now asked "Where is Takeda right now?"

The female student quickly pointed to the left

When Yogi and I turned out attention towards there. We saw Takeda holding a bag in her hand along with Kai who looked like he was just there for emotional support

She handed the bag over to Kai and made her way to me proudly 

"Class 1-2's campsite was empty just like I anticipated"

I gave her a slight round of applauses due to her planning  

"Not bad Takeda, you figured out that Yuka was baiting us into attacking the camp since that we knew where they were situated and cancelled out their hidden attack"

Honestly she surprised me there but Yuka obviously was just testing us. She most likely thinks that I orchestrated the entire stalemate tonight so if Takeda keeps this up, class 1-4 may have a shot at being rank one in due time with her taking charge

Yogi breath a sigh of relief, he went from looking like he wanted to pass out to this jolly individual now 

"Takeda you're a life saver"

Takeda looked at him and her usual facial expression didn't change 

"It wasn't any issue Yogi, I understand that you're nervous right now because this is your first clash as leader but please try to avoid mistakes like that"

I am actually proud her for showing a bit of promise now.

After a few hours passed it was morning again, I ended up pulling an all-nighter in order to be the look out 

The clash was winding down with only a few hours remaining and we were basically waiting for a hail Mary in regards to us winning this thing.

I could see it on most of the students calm faces. They already made peace with their loss and they were just waiting for the earth to open up and swallow them

Takeda swiftly walked up and pulled me to the side 

"What is it?" I asked, I was actually surprised that she would do that blatantly in public like that. 

"Give me an clue on how I can turn this clash around"

I walked bit closer to her as if I was about to whisper a secret in her ear

"Then it won't be a learning experience if I told you"

I could tell she wanted to punch me after that

"If you won't give me a hint then fine"

She then walked off. I had no intention of giving her any type of assistance for this class clash. This was her time to show me what she is capable of and so far I am meagerly impressed 

With time being counted down so quickly it felt as if the fabric of time was against us 

The class continued on the journey towards the meeting place. We were just a little way off from it and with nothing to show for ourselves

Takeda looked anxious, she is racking her brains right now to figure out a way when the entire thing looks bleak

Yogi just kept quiet and continued to walk.

There was only a half an hour left on the timer

As I said before, there is only one viable option to secure victory and none of them are seeing it as yet or they just don't have a way to manipulate it 

Kai held on tightly to his bag as we were coming up to an area without any cameras 

Was this set up on purpose by the school?

As we entered that blind spot, a wave of yellow shirts came swarming in out of the view of the other cameras

They pulled the bag out of Kai's hand which was rather easy to do since he was holding it by the strap which broke previously

Our class rushed towards them but they bolted in the direction of the meeting place.

If that one person crosses that line into the meeting place then they win and we're screwed because we won't have enough time to take another class's statue 

We ran after them but the male student had a massive head start

Genji turned on the jets and broke out ahead of our group and ran passed the rest of the yellow shirts, only focusing on the one student 

He was inching closer and closer to the the student who had Kai's bag

Genji pressed even harder, his fingers grazing the student's yellow t shirt and then the stolen bag

Almost there, Genji was like a superhero right now to all of us 

Then reality hit us like a brick

The student from class 1-2 crossed the line into the meeting place and Genji did the same by accident which still counted as our entire class crossing the finish line as well.

The horn blazed and signaled the end of the clash which only means one thing, the rest of the class namely class 1-1 and class 1-3 already crossed the finished line.

Yuka and the rest of class 1-2 walked behind us, they stayed back and allowed the fastest runner in their class snatch to Kai's bag then bring it along with their statue to the finish line

Everybody else went on ahead including the entirety of class 1-2 and class 1-4 minus myself and Takeda  

After they were out of listening distance 

Takeda had a look of disbelief on her face which then turned into anger 

"We lost, we lost again. I tried my hardest and we lost again"

She kicked a tree and headbutted it as well

"What am I doing wrong?"

She was having a breakdown due to the second loss

I stood a little bit away from her in order to give space

"You disappoint me when you act like that"

She spun around quickly and looked at me with those cold eyes, the same ones the ignorant version of Takeda had

"What are you trying to say?"

I looked at her with eyes even colder than her own 

"You look pitiful right now, showing your weakness in a public setting. Get a grip already you tried your hardest and still lost so what does that say about you?"

After telling her that, I made my way to the rest of the students 

They were getting ready to announce the results of the clash

I just took a seat next to Sena and listened on
