"One may smile, and smile, and be a villain." ~ William Shakespeare, Hamlet
A quote that crept into my mind in reference to my brother Yuu Kaneko.
Seeing him on stage talking and smiling is something, I couldn't believe. Of course, people fell for the act.
Honestly, I am not sure if it is an act. It's possible that he genuinely formed those relationships with people and he is a good person to those individuals at least.
To me, he's just a villain trying prove to our parents that he deserves to be the first heir by showing that he's superior in every single way.
I don't really see an issue because if that is what's motivating him to excel then so be it.
After all, we are all villains in someone else's eyes.
I am the major villain in his story while he's a minor villain in mine. So I can't really say that we are two sides of the same coin.
It's more long the lines of we're living in the same house but currently on different floors.
Even so, I won't ever try to downplay his capabilities, because he can and he will get one over on me if I hesitate for even the slightest second.
*Vibration*
A notification for a text message appeared on my phone. I wonder who this is? The entire year one classes are supposed to be having our study periods in our respective classrooms.
Unfortunately, I couldn't sit still in class for some reason so I took a walk to the food court.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and slowly raised the screen to eye level.
From: Minori Takeda
Subject: Location
Where are you? The class will be starting our last minute reviews for tomorrow's finals.
Trying to cram now, will just guarantee that you forget whatever you stuffed into your brain the day previously.
I wonder who organized the last minute class cram session though?
Either Yogi or Sena. Minori is starting to take an active role in class as well so I won't rule her out.
I am still proud that she is starting to make sensible moves without me having to say or do much. My project is actually making progress.
I just decided to ignore her message and continue my free roam.
Speaking of study sessions. My mind ran on Kaori. I haven't seen her since the student assembly. She would actually benefit from something like that.
I should probably be focusing on the trashing that I am about to receive when I return home for the holidays,
Wait a minute, I can always just stay on campus for the winter break.
Yeah that is a possibility, I'd be open to.
Being so lost in thought, I actually lost track of where I was.
Sigh. I passed the food court so now it's time to make a U-Turn.
Back on track now, I found myself infront of a grill place.
I decided on that and entered the restaurant.
As soon as I pushed on the metal handle of the restaurant's glass door, someone slipped under my arm and entered.
I did see the person per say but I got a whiff of their hair and it smelled like watermelons.
So I concluded that it is a female due to that. I mean, it can also a male who decided to switch his regular shampoo and conditioner to a watermelon scented one. I don't judge, after all I would probably do the same thing if the brand worked well enough for me.
In the restaurant now, I finally got to see who was the person.
It's Asuka Itou from class 1-3. This girl has a bottomless pit for a stomach apparently so it figures that she would be here during the self study period.
I stood in the line behind her and waited my turn.
We didn't say anything to each other. Our last contact was the night before the Rotating Question Clash in which she actually proved useful.
While continuing to the front of the line. She said "Well. Are you going to say Good Morning?"
I looked up at the menu which hung above the cashier's head.
"I told you to limit our contact so no I won't be."
She sighed and replied, "At least tell me that I did a good job."
I ignored her.

Asuka quickly spun to face me, her long silver hair grazed my abdomen and filled the air surrounding us with the same delight smell of watermelons.
In a low voice. "I am basically sticking my neck out here, so the least I deserve is some thanks."
I continued looking at the menu.
"Haven't you ever heard the term unsung heroes? Either way, you shouldn't be complaining. Our agreement is that you keep leaking information to me in regards your class's movements and I'll keep burying them. So stop complaining before I cut you loose."
Asuka pouted and replied, "You don't have to be so mean."
I exhaled deeply, "You know what? Your order is on me, so go crazy. Get 10 burgers or something."
Asuka turned her back and faced the front of the line.
"How generous of you. This is an offer that I'll gladly take you up on."
I don't mind rewarding people when they do fine work but I won't allow her to starting slacking. Eventually, they will start to narrow down the students who are potential traitors in class 1-3 and she will be on that list. So I'll just have to wring her dry before that happens.
While we're on the topic of food. Should I get Minori something? After all, I am technically skipping out on her.
Food is on the list for females' accepted apology gifts right? Arisu once told me that and she's a female, soooo Arisu better be on the money in regards to that.
Asuka placed her order then pointed at me.
"Yeah, he'll be the guy taking care of the bill."
I squinted my dark blue eyes at her and then gave the cashier a thumbs up.
Afterwards, I approached the cashier's counter.
He greeted me with a smile.
"Welcome to the grill shack. What will your order today."
"Ummm. Two burgers, one of the sides being fries and the other being hash browns. A cherry cola and a grape soda. That will be all."
Cashier punched all the information in.
"So that will be all, along with the 3 burgers combos the previous customer ordered."
I bit my lips when I heard that and nodded.
Three burger combos?? I mean it's not an issue but where is all that food going?? She makes me feel like I am not eating enough. Sigh, just forget it Dante and pay the nice gentleman for the food.
After a few minutes the food was prepared and I grabbed it then left.
There's still a few minutes left for the self study period. I should make it back in time.
As soon as I entered the hallway that leads to my classroom. The bell rang.
Crap. It's over and I am officially a deadman walking.
Our classroom door opened up and Minori walked outside with her bag on her shoulder.
She glanced at me with an annoyed look on her face.
I nervously waved at her.
"Greetings my wonderfully non violent friend."
She exhaled and replied, "Where were you?"
Afterward, Minori observed the items in my hand and continued, "So you went on a food break, in the middle of the study session?"
"Would you believe me if I said no?"
Minori then folded her arms and kept silent.
I walked a bit closer to her and she finally spoke again, "Are you sure you weren't off doing something again?"
"Heh? You don't have enough trust in me or something?"
Minori slightly tilted her head to the left, "You're one person I have zero information dispite the amount of time, we have spent together. The information that I know are only the basic things like your name and age. I have no idea if your parents are alive, what they do for a living or if you have any siblings."
I handed her the bag with her food and replied. "What do you value more, revealing my secrets or getting winning results?"
She reluctantly accepted it and kept silent.
There's only so much retraint, a curious person can possess and right now, Minori Takeda is at her limit so she'll start prying a lot more into my personal life.
