After that, night settled, the stars unveiled by the cover of the darkness encompassing the sky and finally relinquishing the son of its throne, equally kindled in radiant light that dimly lit the world enough to distinguish the darker shaded objects so you can avoid them and safely navigate.

The zephyr welcomed itself into my room, my window open outwardly as I sat on the edge, cooling the feverish heat I felt from the growing heat that arrived at these times in the year. But in just a short few months, frigid winds would return along with its crippling conditions. The thought itself baffled me how apace the calendar swept through.

In the solace of my comforting thoughts, I acutely listened to the cacophony that ensued downstairs, my father placing back his equipment in the loudest manner he could and my mother cleaning up creating a wild racket that was mixed with interjecting comments from each of them about their day. The mana poised in a thawing sensation around my body and especially my ears, being able to distinctly compare noises from as far as fifteen meters from my current position.

Eventually, the commotion downstairs soothed and the crashing began rumbling up the stairs with laughter innocently following. Aldir quickly peeked into my room, creaking the door open a minuscule amount and eyeing my room only to locate me at my window. The two of them settled in their room, lifting their blanket up and hoisting it over their snuggled bodies.

I cut off the circulation of mana to my ears and redistributed it naturally into my flowing cycle intermediating round my body. "I suppose its time to go." I muttered tearing my butt of the window ledge and dressing in my combatant clothes. An obsidian top and trousers as well. My thin and rusted breastplate clipped on and my vambraces slipped on, coated in a similar obsidian, followed by the Faulds and sabaton embroiled with platinum crosses clinging to my feet.

I grasped my usual sword, encased in its scabbard, from my bedside and slid it at my waist. The amount of training I did with my mana, meant that I no longer had to rely on the sword of Time. Plus it was rather inconvenient to use as its size far outmatched mine.

"Time to depart. I'll be back soon...but even stronger." I leaned my head backwards to the direction of my parents chamber just behind the walls and then leaped out the window, my speed blowing out the previously burning candles as my feet graced the ground.

"From the map I memorised previously in the day, I should be heading...this way." I spoke, cementing the buildings blocks of the map in a three-dimensional image stored in my memory and charging east. The rattling of my armour was the only thing that whispered to me in the pitch black forest. My vision was heavily impeded but fortunately my vision wasn't something I had to rely on.

"Mana sight." I closed my eyes and a pulse of my mana exhibited the terrain I blitzed past, spinning out of the way of paralyzed preying thick wooden poles and jumping over the hurdles sliding into my proximity with the utmost precision accelerating past each obstacle with ease.

"This excursion will be as easy as breathing." I smiled to myself at the thought of the magical texts in my grasp swarming me with its ancient knowledge.

After another hour or so, I had finally arrived at the outskirts of the town residing in the Ertress territory. One of the famous noble families in the human kingdom which domineered great power. This specific town was named Lycoris. The silence that swarmed the smaller market, my mother and I shopped at, and our house did not apply to this town who still persisted into these times, fluorescent candles kindled with great flames illuminating the streets, shops and bars still populated by multiple people. The difference between us the poor, and the slightly well of was vast in terms of culture.

My vision reconnoitred from the safety of the lushes bushes growing in the tress as well as my armour which for the most part blended me to the background. Guards seemed to attentively surround certain proximities in the town, their armour donning the crest of the Ertress house, a snake on a blue badge dyed in gold surrounded by the same palleted roses.

"What the hell? Why are the guards of the family here, and to this extent at that? This is their territory but this is much to unusual. To even dedicate some of their personal guard to this place would be weird, but this many is much too bizarre."

I incessantly prolonged my search, gazing to the crevices I hadn't yet seen until one of the bar doors swung open in a loud bang. Drunken slurs surfaced, along with the sight of a young man, roughly fifteen or sixteen by the looks of it, dressed in gallant clothes consisting of a suit with a tattered bow that slowly hung of his lifted collar. His face beamed red like a beat and his green eyes swung from object to object aimlessly, causing his sharply cut blonde hair to lurch about. At his support two guards handled him with care, offering their shoulders as to support.

"Ahhh. So one of the young heirs of the family is in the town for some reason. Actually, it is this time of the year, right?"

When the season of summer arrived on the calendar, the Ertress house would kindly donate research materials to less fortunate towns to spread their propaganda, as giving it to this town directly under their control and territory would just mean they transferred their resource from one box to another. It was smart strategy to adopt as people who weren't part of the royal and noble drama and plans, would not know of who exactly governs each region. The leaders of the family only announce fairly major cities, but as for the smaller towns and cities, they pretend to have them be completely self sufficient and belonging to nobody. Only the electives of each town know of these deals they signed off to live a better more comfortable life.

This gives them places they can donate to and increase their popularity within the commoners of the nation and help them become the next rulers of the nation.

"Their schemes are about as interesting as they always were. I won't bother with politics nor families in this life. What I need is the books and this is a great chance to get incredible material." I licked my lips and began descending down to the town, and retrieving the magic texts from the towns library.
