“Ah, I assume you’re talking about that organisation, right? Actually, this would be the only place you would come to ask such a question. A place far away from the capital, far from ears and people. Discreet from the public as to not cause chaos throughout the nation. No, the world. The terrorist organisation that surfaced for the first time roughly thirty five years ago, Angel.”

Our eyes locked in an intense gaze. I quickly tore them away and scouted the near perimeter of the room, closing the blinds discreetly and then checking for any potential listeners lingering behind the door to my office. Fortunately, no one was there.

“Excuse me, but I must ensure confidentiality. Nobody knows of this information but me and the other Guild leaders and of course the government and their direct chosen individuals. I must make sure none intervene in this conversation nor try to reap unwanted data to sell or spread to the world.”

I warned him before taking a supported kneel on the ground and extended my palms flatly on the surface of the floor. Pulses of mana flickered from my crux and naturally fuelled my spell. The currents ran through my established veins and a heavy, murky mist swerved in a hypnotising pattern dispersed from my forearms pressing down densely.

“Alright that should be it,” I spoke, rising from my knees and dusting my hands and clothes off following suit, “The illusion spell I placed should anaesthetise anyones senses if they get too close.”

His eyes seemed to intelligently examine the workings of the mana convulsing inside my body, perhaps interested in the gimmicks of illusion magic or the process of how a spell of that calibre can be emitted.

“Now going back to our topic at hand. It is the Angel group you are trying to discern information on?”

“Yes it is.”

“Before we begin, may I ask you how you came to be involved and allowed to gain information on such a topic?” I probed with a calm voice. Information like this, as I said, is accessible to only certain individuals. Even all of the SSS-rank adventurers that I can think of don’t know of their surging threat. So how did a meer boy like him get attached by a string into this concealed cobweb?

“Originally, I understood the adventurer guilds all around were directly connected to the officials in the capital. After all they were created by them and are just fronts they use to set missions to get rid of problems they can’t afford to give time to. But what else could they be hiding? Well, most people wouldn’t think that this much would be littered in such a place accessible to all. Though I did know that. I figured I’d be able to gain information about Angel after I found evidence of their resurfacing. So I approached one of the guild masters and what would you know, he knew. He tried to refute the fact, but I knew all too well and threatened him to expose this information. Since then, I’ve been tasked as one of the forces recruited to chase the trails Angel would leave.”

“So he didn’t just decide to kill you?”

“Well he tried. Or should I say, he could have. Obviously he started a fight, but after I showcased my natural prowess in combat at the miniscule age of seven, he found potential and use in me. That’s how this came about.”

“I see.” His explanation was still lacking in certain areas. I found the fact that such a hidden organisation, even in history books and any real records, had been known by this boy. It felt suspicious to say the least, but at the bare minimum, he seemed intent on tracking Angel and possibly seeking whatever revenge he had pent up in him. No matter how hard he tried to suppress it.

“So let me begin. Angel was supposedly spotted not in our nation, but making headway on the surface. Our intelligence team, scattered around, had gathered that a total of seven black hooded figures with an even darker emblem on their clothes could be spotted near a village built around a famous memorial. The Stand memorial to be exact, located in the village on the surface, Origin village. The place where the hero Milo Xander disposed of the evil threat Evert Lagin and destroyed any foundation and strength that Angel had built up.”
