Back in the office of Everlong, sitting on the couch, Hiyori was resting her feet on the little table before the fireplace. She was leaning backwards, watching the empty ceiling above her, thinking about nothing for hours on end. It was complete silence between them in the room as neither of the two spoke to each other. Hiyori was simply listening to Everlong, shifting between different papers and pages of documents he simply stole… borrowed from the school, finding the noise of it strangely relaxing. Turning her head to the side, looking at him, she remained quiet, just watching him read and scratch his chin once in a while.

“Did you find her sexy?” asked from out of the blue as one of her stray thoughts escaped through her mouth. Everlong’s hands simply stopped as he looked up from two individual papers he was comparing, wearing a small smile.

“Yeah! She had a great figure!” nodded after a brief pause to think back.

“I bet…” turned towards him fully, leaning on the armrest of the sofa. “She had that ‘mommy’ figure!”

“She probably doesn’t have a kid yet.” answered, going back to the documents.

“You think?” smirked a little Hiyori.

“The hours on her card! It was all evening hours!” replied calmly “A lone mother wouldn’t leave her kid alone for that long! And she did not look like a bad mother!”

“Huh?”

“And there is her finger.” chuckled, looking up from the papers again, for a brief moment, meeting Hiyori’s eyes. “She once was married. The skin still had the marks of a ring on it. It is probably a fresh divorce! Or it may be still ongoing! Also, she may have used makeup but creasings, bags under her eyes were evident. A lot of crying also leaves noticeable marks that can be picked out easily! Then there are her nails! They were really short, clearly biting them unconsciously. There were marks of it on the tip and sides of her fingers too!”

“I did not notice any of that…” murmured Hiyori, trying to recall any of that.

“You never looked. You were preoccupied by jealousy anyway.”

“...” lowered her head, feeling really bad now, not knowing what to say back to him!

“No need to be ashamed! It was not a 100% yours! I would say… 70 to 30? Around somewhere like that!” said, standing up and going to his cabinet, opening it up and pouring out egg-nog for himself and for Hiyori too.

“Really?” asked, with a bit of hope in her voice, taking the small glass from him as he sat down onto the couch, close to her.

“Yes! Your jealousy was natural, aiming at the fact you suffered a lot and she did not. It is a completely human reaction, you don’t need to be ashamed of it! The rest was amplified and transmitted by your unwanted counselor next to your ears!”

“Oh…” whispered, licking her own lips after tasting the egg-nog, finding it really tasty. “So I was jealous of you flirting with her… because of… it?”

“Yeah, I was testing that and the results came back positive!” nodded with a smile, also enjoying the drink.

“Wait, you flirted with her to see my reaction?!” gasped, blinking rapidly.

“Its reaction! But yes. I was watching you and it constantly, I was testing what kind of scenarios and emotions makes it tick! What kind of thoughts were swirling in your head that time?”

“Bad ones!” replied, sighing loudly “I thought Sayako was a whore, wagging her ass like a bitch in heat for anyone who comes to her with a throbbing dick!” catching herself saying it out like that, she quickly closed her lips with one hand, looking horrified and also, greatly embarrassed.

“Ahahaha! That is some vivid description!” laughed Everlong “Worry not, I won’t retell it to anyone! Confidentiality between my clients and all that jazz!”

“Its thoughts are still in my head…” whispered, silencing herself by emptying her glass.

“What else is in there still?”

“On the roof, I wished you two to jump off of it! By the way, I also remembered that place differently! In my mind, there was no fence up there!”

“Oh?” stood up Everlong, going back to his documents “That is helpful! Anything else like that? Differences in your and her memories?” asked quickly.

“No… not anything else that stood out.” said, a bit startled, standing up and walking next to his table. She was especially careful to not even bump into it, treating it as a no-touch zone for herself. “If I can guess, then it was not my memory then?”

“Yep.” nodded “I already narrowed the dates down, but with that I can narrow it further! I’ll need to only focus on the time before it gets put up there!”

“...” she just watched him go through file after file, sorting them into new stacks. In the end she turned towards the still open cabinet of his, looking at the multiple bottles of drinks. “You really like liquors, huh? Most of them are creamy… or sweet.” murmured, reading their labels.

“Of course!” laughed Everlong “The heavy stuff that burns the throat is only tasty after a similarly heavy case! When I want to cleanse myself! For anything else, I like those that taste good for real! The so-called ‘girly’ drinks are the best anyway! If you find something you want to try out, go for it!”

“Okay!” nodded and in the end she brought a stool over so she could reach the cherry liquor at the top shelf. “Tasty!” said with a truly happy smile on her face after she poured out some into her cup and started sipping on it. “Have you got a clue about my… roommate already?”

“By the thoughts you had, I am 80% sure it has to be a ghost, left behind because of jealousy or some kind of resentment towards those who have a successful relationship.”

“But I never had a relationship at all!” replied with a surprised voice before going completely red, from head to toe.

“I know.” answered, looking up at her for a brief moment “Also, your reactions made me think that our wanna be of a demon was once a girl… and most probably still a student too.”

“Why?” asked with a bit of curiosity.

“My own experience!” answered with a simple sentence. “Adults who turn into evil spirits, then step on the road of demonifications are act differently! They are more goal oriented… and more aggressive! They won’t spend decades with petty torture because of a grudge from their previous lives!” snorted as he put down the papers in his hands, looking at Hiyori. “Even jealous women who die, usually go on a much more bloody route if they choose to become a demon! You would be possessed frequently and they would force you into a relationship, just so they can kill the guy or girl through your hands! Torture like this? Through a decade? We either have a young little bitch in our hands or an especially cruel fucker!” explained, resting his chin on the top of his hands.

“You really do hate them… huh?” replied with a small smile, finding it interesting how he talks about demons.

“I do.” replied seriously, watching her eyes “Those who give up on their own humanity to become demons are worse than natural born ones! Exterminating them  is a pleasure that is on par with sex!” smirked, leaning back in the end and lit up a cigarette while Hiyori, at that exact moment, found him… really charming.
