"C'mon, Oz, we gotta go!" the boy in front of Oz called out to him, his hands stretched out and the blue sky beaming down from behind him, giving off airs of angelic light splashing down.
Alongside that, the warm smile radiating from the boy's face and the half-eaten loaf of bread's succulent aroma made Oz feel like he was in a dream, "who-"
Yet, Oz wouldn't even have time to ask who this boy was as he was yanked up by the arm and onto his feet, "let's go!" the boy called out as he ran off down the cobblestone road, the invisible barrier now dispersed.
"Um..." Oz blankly stared at the boy running off before cursing to himself, "damnit," and chasing after the boy.
Left behind was the unconscious guard on the road.
The crowd of people at the side stared in silence at the figure, not a single word being spoken.
Then like a switch was flipped, they all nonchalantly chatted among themselves and began to fill onto the road once more.
They continued their original purpose for coming to the "Trade Square," shopping, looking for deals, and some meeting with friends to spread gossip; giggles spread through the crowd as a juicy hot-take had just occurred before their very eyes.
Each person stepped over the unconscious body like a pebble on the floor, uncaring of his condition or fate, resuming their lives as if that was all that mattered to them.

"Ughh, where did that boy run off to?" the gruff voice of a muscular man murmured to himself.
He sat in a spacious office with a long window on his right side that allowed the beautiful skylight to slip through the lime-green curtains.
The walls were a lime green as well, with a citrusy minty flavor subtly wafting through the air.
In the center of the room where the man was sitting were a long wooden desk and a simple wooden chair.
Behind him was a wide bookshelf filled with hundreds of books, each creased and worn, showing their years of use.
To the right was the wooden door, closed firmly shut.
The muscular man sighed in frustration as he leaned his elbows onto the desk, 'Sigh, he didn't even let me finish explaining.' the man thought to himself as he rubbed his face with both hands.
'Hopefully, they'll be able to find him soon though and-' a subtle green light flashed in his eyes, prompting him to quickly stand up from his chair, a look of shock present on his face.
"I-impossible." the man muttered as he walked over to the window on his right, gazing through the glass and observing the townsfolk below.
Many patrons were still lined up at the baker's stall, begging for a batch of his world-renowned bread; alas, that boy took the last one.
"That boy..." the man muttered as he peeled his eyes at the streets below, "there's no way..."
The man cracked the window open, pushing it out and allowing the air to latch onto his pores.
He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, soaking it all in before opening his eyes once more, a renewed glowing light shining from them.
Subtle blots of wind swirled around him and sunk towards the streets below, slipping past the townsfolk as they talked to one another.
Finally, listening in on two neighboring merchants chatting with one another.
"Did ya hear what happened?"
"No, what?"
"Well, apparently, a guard was tryna get a lil squirt up ahead, and he almost did too!"
"Really? What happened?"
"Heh, another lil squirt knocked him out."
"Knocked him out??"
"Yup, heh, heard the squirt was holdin a silver-looking case too."
"But how is th-"
"Ya know how those people are about their 'honor', heh, look what it got em."
"Ya mean he dropped his guard?"
"He dropped his guard. Huhhh, wonder how blokes like that even made it outta the academy."
Many conversations like this were picked up by the wind as it inconspicuously swirled along through the crowd before finally swirling back into the man's ears.
Tiny whispers and chants rang in his mind as he tightly pressed his eyes together, his eyeballs rolling back and forth under the lips of his eyes as he processed the conversations he had gathered until finally.
"Pahhhh"
A cool gust of air left the man's mouth and nostrils as his emerald eyes burst open with a refined light, "I see."
A smug smile rose on his face, "So that's who helped him." a soft chuckle left his mouth as a mysterious light flashed in his eyes, "well, at least I know who to visit then." his body became transparent, eventually morphing into a breezy wind, blowing outwards and off towards his destination.

Meanwhile, on the cobblestone streets of the "TradeSquare," two young boys were hurriedly running along the bustling market path, which was less dense than the previous areas yet still moderately crowded.
huff
huff
Panted breaths could be heard as they squeezed in and out between the shopping people, they both continued to run, not even speaking a word to each other, yet the boy with the silver suitcase kept gazing back at Oz.
'Sigh, I appreciate this kid for helpin' me out, but why does he keep staring at me?' a frown onto his lips, 'and why do I feel so weak?'
However, neither questions would be answered yet as the situations both boys feared played out as a "halt!" called out from behind them.
"Ughh!" Oz grit his teeth.
His chest was nearly pounding out of his chest, and his legs were on fire.
His bones creaked in agony with each step he took, and just staying upright was causing him distress, 'yet I'll be much worse off if I go back to that Hell Hole.'
A determined look sparkled in his eyes as he continued forward, stumbling every few steps.
The boy up ahead saw this and frowned, "Hold on Oz! We're almost there!"
"Un." Oz forced out through his teeth as he was struggling to even keep his breathing steady.
He snuck a glance backward, and sure enough, there he was, a guard adorning silver armor with a green gemstone implanted on the helmet, except this time, it seemed he brought a friend.
'Fuk! There's 2 of em?'
A vengeful gaze was blaring through the man's eyes, and a small indentation could be seen pressed into his helmet.
With each step the men took, blasts of air were sent behind them, rustling those walking on the street and even causing some to fall onto the ground and curse out in annoyance.
Yet, unbothered by the distress they caused, they continued to chase the boys down, hunters chasing their prey.
Red flashed in Oz's eyes, the crushing pressure from his pursuers was unsettling, yet he had been through worse, 'of all times for me to feel so powerless.'
Just as seemed, the 2 would be forcefully trapped by an invisible wall and beaten half to death Oz heard the boy in front of him call out, "we're here!"
Oz focused his attention up ahead to see a plaza opening up with a line of massive mansions behind a water fountain in the middle of the circular plaza.
Atop the water fountain was a 50ft (15m) statue in the shape of a beautiful woman, the statue looked to be carved of some type of stone, and the beauty conveyed in her face was dazzling.
The statue was standing and praying to the sky above and was wearing a robe, like a nun would wear, or perhaps a holy maiden.
Oz had no time to contemplate this; however, as he was pulled along once more, diving to the far left and down a broad road that was much wider and much more populated than TradeSquare.
Now with a much more open and packed zone, the boys were like fish in the water as they nodded subtly nodded toward one another and crouched down, making use of their prepubescent height.
"This way." the boy motioned to Oz as they snuck into an alleyway in between a pair of wooden buildings.
The smell of mildew was faint yet manageable.
"This way!" both boys crouched down as they heard the pursuing guards call out, watching as they ran down the streets while frantically looking around for them.
"Wooooh!" safe for now, the boy said as they both slumped onto their butts and began to catch their breath.
Huffhufff...
The two panted and gulped for air as they recovered their stamina, yet still continued suspiciously eyeing one another.
Huffhuff...
The boy slowly opened his mouth to speak, "How?.."
"Do I know y-" yet both had begun speaking at once.
The boy's eyes widened in shock before looking down at the floor, "I... I guess not."
An awkward silence filled the air.
'Who the hell is this kid? and why does he think he knows m... shit? Does this have something to do with this body?' Oz's brain was spinning and searching for answers, and it seemed the same was happening to the boy across from him as they were both silent.
Finally, the boy flung himself onto his feet and reached his hand out, "C'mon."
"Huh?" Oz shot a confused look at the boy across from him as the boy continued.
"It looks like those guys were chasing you, and granted you jumped out of that house, I'm not too sure you're keen on going back."
A confused look was still present on Oz's face as the boy sighed.
"That means you can stay with us. I mean, sigh, there's a place for kids like you and me. So let's go."
