"Horya! We're going to the preliminary area! If you stand around gawking like that, you'll get lost." Master Roshi said to both of them.

Master Roshi led both of them to the preliminary area where the preliminary matches were going to conduct.

The Budokai Tournament is very famous. In every tournament many people come to participate. And to weed out weak fighters, preliminary matches are conducted to choose the main eight fighters.

"D-Do you kids really intend on entering?" The staff member asked both – Goku and Krillin as a reconfirmation.

"Yeah! Er, I mean yes sir!" Goku said.

After reconfirming, the staff showed them the area for preliminary matches.

"This is where we part ways. Do your best, Alright?" Master Roshi said to both of them.

"Yes, sir." "Yes, sir."

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot. It'll be hard for you to fight in those clothes, so…" Master Roshi opened the suitcase and gave them an orange coloured Gi.

"Ohoh! These are really cool!" Goku said admiring the orange-coloured training clothes.

"Pretty flashy, though…. If we lose, we'll look really dumb…" Krillin muttered as he wore the Gi.

"You don't have to worry about the small boy. You're strong enough."

"Oh! Thank you. Hmm… Eek! Who are you?" Krillin was shocked as he heard a voice he couldn't recognise.

He turned back to see a person wearing asymmetrical blue jacket with high collars. Beneath was a pair of matching blue slacks. And most noticeable feature of the person is that he is wearing a black blindfold.

After a while, Master Roshi and Goku noticed that a figure is behind them.

"Yo! It's been a while." The white-haired man raised his hand to greet them.

"Don't tell me…. Brother Alex." Goku happily ran to Alex and punched him in face. But Alex blocked it with his hand.

"What are you doing, Goku? After so many years, you greet your big brother this way?" Alex said while pinching Goku's cheeks.

"Sorry. Sorry. I won't do it anymore." Goku said while rubbing his cheeks which red due to Alex's pinching.

"Oh! Sorry for trouble. I am Alex. Goku's Big Brother."

"Nice to meet you. I am Krillin. Goku's best friend."

"Oh! I am Master Roshi. I am teacher of these boys." Master Roshi said while bowing a bit.

"No. You'll don't have to be so formal. Just treat me like Goku."

"Well, if you say so."

"So, Goku and Krillin are entering the tournament." Alex said after hearing the details of Goku's journey till far. After learning the death of Grandpa Gohan made Alex a bit sad. But he quickly recovered.

"That's right, brother." Goku said raising his hands in excitement.

"Well do your best, Goku and Krillin as well." Alex wished both of them good luck.

"By the way, Goku."

"Hmm…"

"I will watch your first match. After that I am going away for a while." Alex said to Goku. Alex has decided that after watching first match, he will direct go to complete the quest. The quest's timeline is in future, so he will directly arrive in future. So, he decided it would be better to tell Goku about his departure.

"Okay!"

"Now both of you go quickly. Or else you will miss the preliminary matches." Alex said to both of them.

"The eight fighters that make it through the preliminaries will fight in front of crowd. I will be sitting there too, so if I am able to see you up there, I will have no complaints." Master Roshi said to both of his disciples.

"Yes sir. We will do our best." Krillin replied enthusiastically.

"So, go on!" Alex waved his hands as Goku and Krillin entered the preliminary area.
