I took a break from the system to go outside and get some sun, food, and to talk with the others. All of the Volcano Hounds were getting into trouble running all over the place and wrestling with each other whenever they weren’t sleeping or eating, and all of the demons were—well, just relaxing or going about their idle jobs. For example, now that we had a Crafters’ Tent, there was always somebody in there crafting random, small things. Little trinkets, bowls, forks—whatever they could with what minimal materials they could get from around the place. None of those items were recognized by the system, but they were still items we used.
I also saw a sight that I never expected to see back when I first got summoned.
I saw Enna and Zira talking. Not only talking, but they were chatting and even laughing like a couple of friends. I could tell from Enna’s body language that she still looked a bit nervous, but she was still having what looked like a good time with Zira.
Part of me was tempted to go over there and join in to see what was so funny, but I didn’t want to interrupt. If Zira planned on trying to get along better with everybody and wanted to improve her relationships, that was something I was happy to let her do on her own without me getting in the way.
That aside, once I got in some stretches, cardio, and took care of all my other basic needs, I returned my attention to the system with a much clearer mind than what I woke up with.
And to resume things with the system, there was something else that I needed to do which I had been putting off, and that was having our first Hunter unit use its [Track] ability while standing on the Big Game modifier.
Either my theory turned out to be right, or it was a massive coincidence. Whichever it was, we discovered two new creature tiles adjacent to the Big Game tile.
And to the right of it was our new, combined group that consisted of a Settler unit and the two Volcanic Predator units. They used up all their movement points for the day, and it would take them another two days to reach their destination.
But back to what really mattered: the new creature tiles. Those Hounds’ Hunting Grounds were really good buildings to boost our food, and the Volcano Hounds were especially happy when assigned to them, so I wanted to get as many of those as I could.
Not to mention that the more creatures we hunted, the more different types of meat could be brought back for grilling over the fire.
Back to the creatures.
Starting off with the new wildlife modifier in the arctic region to the direct north.
“They don’t offer much food and barely give any of their resource,” I said out loud to myself, “but they give us their scales. And their scales can supposedly change colors to blend in with snow. I wonder… would it be possible to make armor out of their scales at some point that disguises our units when in the arctic? I doubt it would disguise them in other biomes, but having something like that for the arctic could be a huge buff to us. Then again, seeing as how they’re just a wildlife creature and not a special tile modifier or anything, it might not actually be that strong and the text could just be for flavor.”

It was worth grabbing either way.
Next was the modifier to the northeast in the grassy region.
I blinked a few times when I read the description for that one.
Normally, all the descriptions for everything did have a kind of… “cool” voice attached to them. But this one just sounded like fangirling over fluffy things. It was… surprising to read, to say the least, but also understandable as somebody who loved soft beds and pillows myself.
So, with those checked out, I figured out our new plan for expansion.
First was grabbing the tile to the south of the Big Game tile that already had three adjacent tiles connected to it. We would get that one at a discount and then get the lava lake tile for free due to completely surrounding it. Then we could get the Big Game tile and the tile to the right of it. Once we had those, we could get the Fluff Bison, and then the Frost Chameleons.
Also, the Tanning research was finished. That meant we had a new building available to us.
The Tanning Racks would take our daily labor over a hundred, but it would take a couple of days to finish which would slow down my plan of pumping out a bunch of Volcanic Predators.
And seeing as how units could be upgraded after being produced, I could probably build the Tanning Racks, then what Leatherworking unlocks, and upgrade the units with potentially better armor after they’re already made.
So, I decided to queue up the Volcanic Predators, further pushing back the Gathering Camp that was queued up to the bottom of the queue.
And that was everything I had to do for the day.
