Chapter 56 - Celebration of life

Lu Xun's birthday was in June, a sunny day.

Ye Yao thought of giving Lu Xun a handmade gift, but it took some time to make the gift and some time alone to make it in secret before she could take it out and surprise Lu Xun, who knew nothing about it.

Spending time is not a problem, he is happy to spend time with Lu Xun, the problem is the space alone.

Lu Xun clung to him so tightly that they were always in the same space at night, and he couldn't make Lu Xun presents during the day while he was in class.

So what to do?

Tonight they are not staying in the dormitory, but in a rented house outside, which is quite big. Ye Yao tentatively asked Lu Xun: "Seeing as your birthday is coming up, why don't we sleep in separate rooms for the time being, and when I've finished my present, we'll ......"

Lu Xun, who had been lying comfortably next to him, sat up when he heard these words and objected firmly: "How can you not see you for several nights for a birthday? If that's the case, then I'd rather not have this birthday. And don't bother making me presents, spend all your time making them on me."

The main thing is that the other person is happy and likes the gift, not just to be touched by oneself. Ye Yao thought about it and asked Lu Xun, "How do you want to spend your birthday, and where do you want to go? Just tell me, I will try my best to satisfy you."

At these words, a wonderful smile appeared at the corner of Lu Xun's mouth.

"Play, why not," Lu Xun slowly took Ye Yao's hand in his, "let's play at home all day."

Ye Yao: "......"

Ye Yao: "Is that what I think it means."

"What do you mean, I don't understand," Lu Xun said with a straight face, "I don't have any bad intentions, I just want to stay with Yao Yao!"

Ye Yao: "...... I believe in you."

Lu Xun seemed to have made up his mind and did not want to accept a gift that had been so painstakingly made, so Ye Yao gave up on the idea.

But despite this, the gift had to be given.

...... Give Lu Xun something he really likes but has never been able to experience?

Like something to wear on him that can't be worn out of the house.

It was a bold decision for Ye Yao, who struggled with it for two days before adding certain outfits to his shopping cart one day in between classes and then checking out.

* Lu Xun

With Lu Xun's birthday falling on a weekend, Ye Yao had two full days free to spend with Lu Xun.

Lu Xun didn't really drag Ye Yao outside to the house and shut the door and spend two days with him, day and night. Instead, he took Ye Yao to an amusement park under a cloudless blue sky.

"Do you remember when we were last here?" Lu Xun asks.

Ye Yao certainly remembers when he confessed to Lu Xun that he liked men, and Lu Xun began to formally pursue him.

Ye Yao also asked, "Remember, why did you suddenly think of coming here?"

"Of course I'm here to fulfil a little wish that didn't come true before." Lu Xun wrapped his arm around Ye Yao's shoulders and, seeing that no one was looking around, Lu Xun gave Ye Yao a quick kiss on the cheek.

Ye Yao looked at today's birthday girl and gave Lu Xun a kiss on the cheek too.

Lu Xun narrowed his eyes in satisfaction, "Last time I came here with you, I didn't even dare to hold your hand, life is just bitter sweet."

Ye Yao was a bit embarrassed when she mentioned before: "...... You used to be so straight that I didn't dare believe you could turn bent and thought you were faking it."

"I don't blame us Yao Yao, I blame how I couldn't be bent at birth?" Lu Xun hates himself, "bent clothes, bent hair, a few-"

Lu Xun was unable to say the rest of his sentence when Ye Yao covered his mouth.

"Public places," Ye Yao lowered her voice to remind Lu Xun, who was always ready to talk dirty, "are full of children."

Lu Xun realised his mistake and took Ye Yao's hand and continued on through the amusement park.

Lu Xun took Ye Yao for a ride around the amusement park and finally towards the Ferris wheel.

It is not evening and the sun is too bright to see. Ye Yao and Lu Xun sit together, watching the ground grow distant.

Ye Yao knows what Lu Xun is doing.

The last time they were on the Ferris wheel, Lu Xun had made him an invitation to kiss, but he had refused unceremoniously.

The bear couldn't bear to hear that kind of talk and the bear said he would ask again the next time he came.

The Ferris wheel slowly rises to the top and Ye Yao is wrapped in Lu Xun's arms.

Lu Xun's voice rang in Ye Yao's ears, "Legend has it that the couple who kiss when the Ferris wheel spins to its highest point can stay together for the rest of their lives."

"...... is feudal superstition." Ye Yao said.

"Eh?" Lu Xun gave a glare, took out his phone and showed Ye Yao the date, pointed at himself again and coughed, "Give Ye students one more chance to reanswer."

"That saying is feudal superstition." Ye Yao smiled, "And it's a given that we've been together all our lives."

In the bright sunlight, Ye Yao kisses Lu Xun on the lips.

* The first time I got off the Ferris wheel

Getting off the Ferris wheel, Ye Yao was immediately dragged back home by Lu Xun.

"Are you even going to eat?" Ye Yao Yao was shocked, "You're not going straight from dawn to dusk and back again, are you?"

Although he was prepared for Lu Xun's birthday, running straight home without even eating was beyond his wildest dreams!

"What do you think I am, let's eat at home." Lu Xun said.

Ye Yao was just relieved to see Lu Xun's face curled into a smile that had nothing to do with innocence.

"It's not convenient outside, inside the house we can eat while ......" Lu Xun didn't finish his sentence, his mouth was a meaningful smile.

Ye Yao: "......"

He really didn't want to think in that direction, but during the time he spent with Lu Xun, his mind had changed a lot.

Lu Xun put his arm around Ye Yao's shoulder and laughed, "You can kiss while eating, what are you thinking? What are you thinking about? You're thinking about what you're not allowed to watch as an underage person, tsk, tsk, tsk.

Ye Yao's face was expressionless: "Okay, then whoever does anything other than kissing at dinner time is a puppy."

Lu Xun did not blush, "Are you calling me? You are really worthy of Yao Yao, you have seen through my essence and my true form in one word."

Ye Yao: "...... Good, awesome, no shame."

Not being able to make a move on the birthday boy, he endured it.

Back in front of the rented house, Ye Yao found a couple of men dressed as chefs waiting, with professional-looking meal boxes in their hands.

Lu Xun opens the door and the chefs enter, moving silky smoothly to set the table with tablecloths and candles, then place the beautiful tableware and food.

In addition to this Ye Yao saw a semi-finished cake, which consisted of only the cake base, with the buttercream individually wrapped in the fridge and accompanied by various spreading tools.

By the time a few of the cooks had left, they were once again the only two people left in the house.

It is a standard candlelit dinner, with candlelight swaying to illuminate the exquisite food below and the wine in the glass on the side.

Ye Yao sits down on a chair and, looking at the set-up, he suddenly remembers a film he once saw with Lu Xun.

It's a two-man masterpiece film Lu Xun watches with him after he learns he's bent, in order to make him sick of men straightening him out.

In that film, the male lead, Noichi, accidentally spills red wine on his shirt and falls tenderly on top of the other male lead, crying.

And then the two male leads start to go from dark to dawn.

Ye Yao looks at Lu Xun for a moment and sees the meaningful look in his eyes.

Ye Yao took a sip of red wine from his glass. Instead of swallowing it, he sidled up and pulled Lu Xun closer by the collar of his shirt and kissed him on the lips, passing the sip of red wine over.

The wine mingles with saliva and crosses into Lu Xun's mouth, where he drinks every drop, before finally scouring Ye Yao's mouth clean.

Lu Xun's eyes were half-smiled with satisfaction: "This sip is much more precious and delicious than an 82-year-old Lafite, it's priceless!"

The birthday boy immediately made his wish: "That's how I'll drink every sip of wine from now on."

Ye Yao laughed softly, "What nonsense, eat."

Lu Xun couldn't let Ye Yao go into battle hungry as he had to replenish his strength for the rest of the day, so the meal was a peaceful one, with only a few kisses and touches and hugs, thanks to Lu Xun's patience.

When Ye Yao had finished the last bite of meat, Lu Xun, who had been watching him, immediately stood up and opened the fridge, taking out the cake and cream.

Ye Yao looked at the half-finished cake and asked, "Are you trying to put the cream on it yourself?"

Lu Xun raised an eyebrow, "Yes, no one else knows where to put the buttercream on a birthday cake that suits me best."

Ye Yao doesn't see the problem in this statement and goes over to help Lu Xun.

He and Lu Xun put the cream on, placed the candles and made their wishes, and then it was time to eat the cake.

The cake was soft and fluffy, and the cream was sweet but not greasy, making it a very good dessert.

Ye Yao ate some of it and then noticed that Lu Xun didn't move a single bite, but looked at him with a smile.

It was as if he was the real treat compared to the cake.

"...... Don't you eat?" Ye Yao asked.

Lu Xun smiles and answers the question, "Have you eaten yet?"

Ye Yao nodded and then saw Lu Xun pulling another cream out of the fridge.

Lu Xun walks over with the cream in his hand, scoops a bit of it and dabs it on the tip of Ye Yao's nose.

The sweet scent of cream wafts into Ye Yao's nostrils, but soon this sweetness is licked away by another person.

Lu Xun, who has finished tasting the food, has a hint of danger in his eyes.

Ye Yao lowered his eyes as he felt another cold, sweet cream being dabbed at the centre of his lips.

This cream was, of course, kissed off in full.

Further down, the cream is nudged at the throat.

Ye Yao tilted her head up and felt the wonderful coldness and fire on her neck.

The buttons on his shirt are held down and Ye Yao hears Lu Xun, who looks up, whispering in his ear.

Lu Xun's voice had a husky edge to it, "I'm going to start enjoying the birthday cake too, don't you think?"

Lu Xun is becoming more and more able to speak directly about his needs, which is something that Ye Yao is happy to see.

Ye Yao wraps her arms around Lu Xun's neck and kisses him on the corner of his mouth.

"I got you a present, maybe ......" Ye Yao said softly, "that would go better with the cake you wanted."

......

Ye Yao lifted her slightly limp arms around Lu Xun's neck and offered Lu Xun her first birthday wish of the day.

"Happy birthday."

"And I'll always be there for you on future birthdays."
