Ren Shuhan rummaged through the documents, without finding the script.

“System Alert: This program was originally meant to show off your wealth and affection.”

Flaunting wealth? And displaying affection? Ren Shuhan froze, was it supposed to be… for him and Gu Weici?

“Yes.”

Ren Shuhan found that the memories of the original owner came back a little, his brain vaguely remembered some past scenes, displaying extravagant villas, private jets, yacht parties ……

What did his family do?

“Both parents are Hollywood stars, and have been divorced for many years. Except for his grandmother abroad, the original owner basically keeps no contact with the rest of the family. Still, as the only heir on both sides of the family, he needs to be responsible for the management of the family’s businesses.”

It seems like he was a millionaire who had quite the capital, and who decided to now show off its wealth.

However, money should not be flaunted.  Had the original owner never heard of such a principle?

While Ren Shuhan had the intuition that the original owner and himself had a lot in common, he didn’t like to broadcast his private life, therefore, he couldn’t understand the original owner’s motives when suddenly doing this.

“System alert: The original owner planned this program for the purpose of keeping up the interest on his cp with Gu Weici. He didn’t want the hype over it to fan. Besides, he also hoped to be able to tie up Gu Weici.”

So that’s how it was.

Gu Weici and the original owner were living together for a few months. Although nothing had exactly happened between them, ambiguous traces of their cohabitation were still left in the villa. If the fans could pick up on those subtle clues, the whole topic would probably explode and make waves on the internet.

The original owner was really bent on making this work.

But there was another point that Ren Shuhan couldn’t figure out: I guess Gu Weici would be like a host when he comes to my house, right? But he doesn’t like me, so why did he participate in this reality show? Doesn’t he want to avoid suspicion?

The system: “Gu Weici participated for the sole purpose of getting a better image. He wants to find opportunities to quarrel with the host and show to other people that there isn’t a relationship between the two.”

There was no doubt, the original had really been dumped.

Ren Shuhan smiled as he found himself more curious about this protagonist shou. He wondered how attractive he was.

Jiang Qingyue was Ren Shuhan’s housekeeper and lived in a small townhouse nearby Ren Shuhan’s house, so it only took a little more than half an hour to get from his house to Ren Shuhan’s house. They passed through a tree-lined area and an artificial lake on Ren Shuhan’s property before finally reaching the villa.

Wen Xin got down first while Ren Shuhan continued reading the information. As usual, he unbuckled his seatbelt, but didn’t open himself the door of the car to get down.

However, instead of Wen Xin opening the car door for him, a handsome male celebrity did so.

He wore a pristine black tuxedo with a small bow tie and his dyed blond hair that was about shoulder length was tied in a ponytail at the back of his head. With fair skin and cheeks sporting a healthy rosy tint, he lifted a white gloved hand to his chest, keeping his brown eyes focused on his leather shoes in an attempt to hide the impatience in them.

Ren Shuhan was quite surprised: The boy was indeed good-looking, and no worse than Jiang Qingyue.

No wonder the original owner liked him.

Ren Shuhan put down the pad in his hand before getting out of the car with one hand in his pocket. Seeing the photographers in the distance and the two other executives, he gave a faint smile.

Such a good-looking person …… Ren Shuhan paused in his footsteps, nodded to Gu Weici to show his gratitude and thought to himself that it did make sense to promote him as a star if one wanted to chase him.

“System alert: The host has been detected to be close to Gu Weici, it is recommended to turn on the mind reading function.

Oh? The system had such skills?

But it’s not a good idea to peek inside someone’s mind, is it?

System: “Although you’ve been shielded from Gu Weici’s Protagonist Aura, there might be other defects that the system fails to detect. It is recommended that the host turns on the intelligent mind reading function, which will automatically screen out any private information of the person whose mind is being read. Only harmful intent towards the host will be singled out.”

Ren Shuhan hadn’t exactly paid close attention to the system’s abilities, but hearing this, a sudden interest rose inside him.

Since his opponent had an unknown aura, it was not considered cheating to turn on the mind-reading skill.

“The mind reading function has been turned on, the intelligent filtering of the internal thoughts of Gu Weici will now begin…”

The system stopped making any sound.

The electronic voice switched instantaneously to a slightly resonant male voice, which was bright and beautiful, and it was the voice of Gu Weici.

“Ren Shuhan, this dog! He’s probably using this opportunity to get another chance to get to me. I definitely won’t accept him easily. He has to rot in the crematorium for at least 49 days 1. He can just go on and look at me being surrounded by other beautiful idols! He can eat enough vinegar2 to die!

Ren Shuhan: Oh :).

Was the original owner this cheap?

……

The previous night, Gu Weici had a pretty good dream.

He dreamed that during the recording of “Acting Deacons”, Ren Shuhan treated him with a lot of affection throwing out thousands of dollars just to see him smile; a small executive like him was spoiled rotten.

But he simply ignored Ren Shuhan, refusing multiple times; No, there’s no need. You can’t buy my affection.

Then when the program aired, it became a sensation on the web and made fans go crazy. Trolls went and scolded Ren Shuhan harshly. Whereas the true fans of their cp cried in pain, opting to nurse their hearts by posting edits showing Ren Shuhan chasing him. They’d @ at him, begging him to look at them and their ship, and give it a chance.

So he woke up that morning with skin in optimal condition; it was so white that it seemed to sparkle.

It was no surprise he was the Protagonist, Gu Weici thought.

Gu Weici had a secret: He was a book transmigrator, and he had read this novel before coming to this world. He therefore knew that his dream was true, and that he wasn’t far away from the best moments of his life~

Not surprisingly, when the recording took place, the two guests with him were also impressed by his beauty.

“You certainly look good.” The male teammate commented.

“You’ve filmed with the Ice3 God, so you should know him well, right?” The female teammate asked.

The male teammate named Qu Chong, was also a part time model. While he had recently reached adulthood, his mind was very mature and stable. He looked quite exquisite, with his height that was nearing 2 meters (6”5) and with his gold-rimmed glasses. He had been discovered while still in school by talent scouts, and fans of his works liked to call him ‘Refined Scum Gong’.

Given Gu Weici’s protagonist aura, it was more than likely that during the show recording, he would be quite taken by him and would be attentive towards him.

The female teammate called Qiao Ningning, had some background in the entertainment industry, but was usually unable to read the atmosphere. She was already older than Ren Shuhan and had piled up a lot of resources and participated in countless talent shows without really achieving any major breakthrough.

While her failures would highlight the freshness of Gu Weici’s character in the program, she still had some popularity that would gather the attention of some fans.

Simply put, both of them served as the supporting cast for Gu Weici.

“Not really4,” Gu Weici replied to Qiao Ningning, “The Ice God is a very busy man, and I have barely spoken to him while filming.”

It is this light-hearted attitude that is needed.

First, he’ll pretend to be completely unconcerned. Then when Ren Shuhan will lower himself towards him, he’ll enjoy Qiao Ningning’s surprised expression, and the whole thing will be very interesting ~

Gu Weici felt that he had a good grasp over it.

Qiao Ningning was relatively simple-minded and didn’t even notice his disinterest, so she just let out a small “Oh”.

But Qu Chong, who was more attentive, frowned while thinking: Qiao Ningning is our senior in the industry, yet the first time he speaks to her, he doesn’t even use polite speech…This Gu Weici, he’s a little impolite, ah.

The protagonist shou’s aura had been interfered with, and towards Gu Weici, Qu Chong’s good impression was lowered.

Gu Weici was unaware of it, and with a bemused smile, he looked up at the sky and thought to himself: Ren Shuhan, that dog, he’s so late already. He must have cried himself to sleep last night, his eyes were probably red after being rejected, wasn’t that right?

At that time, he never expected that after Ren Shuhan came, everything would start to develop in a strange direction.

Prior to Ren Shuhan’s arrival, the three deacons changed their clothes early and stood in front of the camera, introducing themselves and chatting for a while.

“Ah, Ningning is wearing a maid’s outfit,” Qu Chong smiled and pushed up his glasses, ” It’s not quite like a deacon, is it?”

“The program crew only provided this kind of clothes,” Qiao Ningning patted the hem of her skirt,  dissatisfied with the huge plastic hoop cage that served as support for the fluffy dress. “Although we are called deacons in the program, we are actually working as maids, and there is a lot of work.”

The name of the program sounded good, but the reality was a bit different.

“But this outfit is very cute, ah.” Gu Weici complimented while simultaneously implying that Qiao Ningning was being pretentious, “The crew wanted us to look good, so Ning Ning should bear with it. Besides, how can I leave the troublesome job to a lady? I can do it in your stead.”

Qiao Ningning: “Fine.”

Qu Chong: (towards Gu Weici ) Favorability -1, -1, -1 ……

“But still, I don’t think the three of us are wearing clothes that match the style of this place either.” Qiao Ningning looked back at the villa again and lamented, “This house is very modern, and we feel out of place wearing such old fashioned clothes.”

“The home of the Ice God is indeed beautiful.” Qu Chong agreed, “It is said that it was built by a European nobleman and later renovated by a famous designer. It’s also said that there are many antiques inside.”

One of the cameramen took a shot of the villa, panning through the surrounding trees, creek, man-made lake and fountain sculpture, while the other one pointed his camera at Gu Weici.

This luxurious villa, with its scenic spots could be fit for a travel program. And because it wasn’t open to the public, it was one rare opportunity for the show to get these shots on film. To hype their cp a bit more, the original Ren Shuhan had wanted to let Gu Weici introduce the history of this house.

But Gu Weixin seemed distracted, as if he disdained the idea: “En.”

Qiao Ningning, Qu Chong, cameraman: ?

Good sir, why were you dragging this on?

At that moment, the Walkie-Talkie at the back of Gu Weici’s waist rang

“Three deacons, the young master is back.”

At once, everyone straightened up their appearance, formed a line and stood in front of the door.

“Are you nervous?” Qiao Ningning was tangled up in her skirt and Qu Chong supported her.

“A little, yeah,” said Qiao Ningning, “Ice God is always abroad and he rarely socializes. He just drops by charity events to donate and leave. He also doesn’t like to appear on the red carpet, so I haven’t even seen him in person ever.”

“En, I’m also a fan of the Ice God,” Qu Chong also followed suit, “I used to think that he is obviously an over the top rich and handsome man, but his personality is very low-key. This program is a rare opportunity to get close to him.”

Gu Weici sneered in his heart: He just has a normal face like everybody else, what’s so mesmerizing about it? I’m tired of seeing it.

“I had thought about it before,” Qiao Ningning, straightforward as she was, said, “That the Ice God had actually agreed to come to this program because he had worked with Xiao Gu ……”

Not expecting that Qiao Ningning wasn’t finished talking, Gu Weici hurriedly pretended to want to correct her misconception: “We really don’t know each other well…”

However, she continued over him. “I didn’t realize that Xiao Gu didn’t know Ice God well,” Qiao Ningning sighed, “It’s a pity.”

Gu Weici: …… Is she stupid or something?

He would teach her a lesson when she’d see the illustrious movie star lick the ground he walked on.

When Ren Shuhan’s car stopped in front of the house, Gu Weici, who was standing nearer, stepped out and opened the car door for him.

The next step in the process would be for Ren Shuhan to turn into a “wife stalker” and hit on him like crazy, asking him to be his personal aide, the type that never leaves his side.

Gu Weici was impatiently waiting for Ren Shuhan to greet him, but he got out of the car and first smiled at the staff. He then nodded towards him before walking away without looking back.

He was gone…

Gu Weici: ????

Qiao Ningning whispered: “So you really don’t know each other well! You had made a movie together and I quite liked that movie as well as the ship.  I originally thought you could help me ask the Ice God for some autographs, what a pity.”

Gu Weici: “……”

No, that was..…

He knew him very well!!!!!

I was quite surprised to see that the protagonist shou was actually a transmigrator. I was feeling a bit bad for him cause he’d been used by the original gong, but oh well, he’s kinda annoying so rip ヾ( ̄O ̄)ツ

Also Qiao Ningning has no filter, I even feel a bit embarrassed for Gu Weici >.<

It refers to an auspicious number for the reincarnation of the departed

In chinese, eating vinegar implies that the person is feeling jealous

‘Ice’ in here is taken from Ren Shuhan’s ‘Han’, and it also means Cold, so they call him that in reference to not only his name, but also his cold personality.

It’s a bit harder to convey in english, but he’s not using formal speech while talking to her.
