At the end of the day, Cheng Tian left the inn he was staying in, dressed a formal attire, and made his way towards the building where today's auction was scheduled to take place.

After a while of walking, he entered a building that looked like a grand opera house, where he only had to pay an entrance fee of 10 gold coins.

The local auction was not so strict about people entering, so anyone could enter as long as someone had that amount to pay for entry. But being in a relatively weaker region on this continent, there were not many who were not spirit masters who would come to a place like this.

Ten gold coins might not be much for spirit masters, but it was a significant amount for ordinary people. So naturally, this auction house would not be crowded even if it charged so little.

Anyway, after paying his entrance fee, Cheng Tian followed the directions of one of the many attendants of this place, quickly arriving at the standard seats of this auction.

There were a series of chairs divided into more than 30 levels, which followed the steps of a central staircase from the highest point, the entrance, to the lowest, the stage.

Finding a place for himself in the middle of this area, Cheng Tian looked around, seeing the upper four floors, where the many VIP rooms of this auction house were located.

With this, he realized that even though there were only a few minutes until the event started, not many people were present. That is, the place was not even 40% full.

'Hmm, either the items that will be auctioned today are not that relevant, or the poverty of this region is remarkable...' Cheng Tian pondered on that aspect just before the side lights in that area went out, indicating the start of the auction.

Cheng Tian then turned his attention to the only well-lit area. On the stage, it did not take long for a beautiful woman to walk slowly from one of the sides to the center of it.

After she made a hand gesture and smiled, she spoke into a special item in the center of that stage, starting the evening. "Good evening, everyone, and welcome to another auction night of the Xiao Trading House."

"We have some interesting items up for auction today, so I recommend that everyone stay until the end. Other than that, as always, I must remind you..." She introduced some of the rules of this event, as well as the functionality of the operations there.

Some auctions delivered the items directly to the winners of the bids once the item was sold. But in other places, like this one, the auction winners had to attend the administration of that place to retrieve and pay for their purchased items.

Since there were many auction houses in the Douluo Continent and there was no way to guarantee the origin of the people there, always the beginning of auctions followed more or less the same protocol. That is, with the auctioneer explaining the rules of the organization hosting the event.

But that woman soon finished her presentation and followed with the first item to be auctioned.

"The first item of the evening is armor capable of withstanding the full attack of a Spirit Grand Master, something produced by an Advanced Smith." She nodded in the direction of a mannequin, where the lights soon focused, showing everyone the item.

Cheng Tian looked toward that blue and black item, a type of armor to protect the back, chest, and abdomen. But since he was not searching for external defensive items, he just continued in his seat, waiting for the following items.

"The starting price of this armor is 100 gold coins, with minimum increments of 10."

"100!"

"110!"

Bids began to emerge, mainly from where Cheng Tian was, where most of the people were present.

...

"220!" One last bid was given when finally, silence filled the surroundings for a few seconds and the auctioneer indicated the end of bidding.

"The first item is sold to you in the common area for 220 gold coins!" She hit a wooden hammer on a small bench that stood nearby.

Then several minutes passed, and five more items were auctioned. However, none of them had caught Cheng Tian's attention due to their common nature.

These were defensive items or items useful in special practices, which were not of interest to Madara's young heir. For example, one of the items was a special hammer for blacksmiths, while another was a book with unique techniques for doctors.

As much as these items had their value, spending on things that had no immediate use in his life would be a waste for someone with limited resources like Cheng Tian.

He was specifically looking for items that could permanently improve his physique's attributes, not external artifacts!

Thus, he continued to pay attention to the auction until the lights in that area lighted up the 8th item of the night.

"Our next item is something unique, a product of nature that Doctor Shi was lucky enough to find and later add to his unique medicine blend." She said in a tone full of reverence.

"Oh?"

"Doctor Shi? So he's auctioning off that item?" Someone in one of the VIP rooms looked at the little finger-sized glass inside a glass box in the center of that stage.

"Doctor Shi? Isn't that the name of Fasinuo Province's leading expert on ailments?"

"It can only be him... Or is there another Doctor Shi?"

"Wow! It's not for nothing that such a thing appeared near the end of the auction. So it's something manipulated by Master Shi!"

"What? That old man is still alive? I don't believe it..."

Several voices in the common area spread out, with many interested in finding out the effects of that auction item.

The auctioneer continued. "I present to you the Five Senses Potion produced by Doctor Shi. It can heighten the senses of the person who drinks it, causing a qualitative change in its user."

"According to Doctor Shi, it has the most significant effect on people below level 30, and is mainly indicated for those close to breaking through to this level."

Her eyes sparkled as she opened her arms. "According to Doctor Shi, by drinking this potion, an ordinary spirit master would be able to absorb spirit rings up to 5% older than they normally could!"

"Amazing!"

"That is a product made by the heavens!"

"Tsk!"

"What a lucky fellow! I want to know where he got the ingredient for that potion..."

Voices interrupted the auctioneering, while even people in the VIP area were impressed.

'That's interesting...' Cheng Tian looked at that little glass bottle intensely, noting the special glow that only he with the Sharingan could see. 'There is a lot of energy there. So, those effects are probably real.'

'Hmmm, even though it's an item suitable for people weaker than me, that doesn't mean it has no use for me.'

He prepared the plate that every person in this auction had to bid on. 'I don't know when I'll have problems with my eyes, so increasing my physical features whenever possible is a must!'

'In that case, it doesn't matter whether I will get the best results. Any improvement is welcome!'

He then heard the auctioneer's voice. 'This is a precious item for spirit masters, so the starting price is 1,500 gold coins, with a minimum increase of 100 coins."

Gulp!

Several swallowing sounds arose from the people in the area Cheng Tian was in since only those in the VIP area would have a chance to bid for this amount.

But this young man ignored common sense and was the first to bid.

"1.500!"

People in his surroundings watched for Cheng Tian with interest, but the voices coming from the VIP rooms soon covered up his bid.

"1.600!"

"1.700!"

...

"2.400!"

At this point, some people in the VIP rooms had already given up, leaving only three individuals left bidding.

"Old Chin, that potion is perfect for my grandson. Then I won't give up!" A gruff voice came from one side of that area.

Another voice then replied. "Qiao Yu, don't talk nonsense. I will naturally take that potion to my disciple."

However, while they were talking, Cheng Tian, who had disappeared part way through the previous bidding, raised the price by 600 coins at once.

"3,000 coins!" He said in a firm tone, not sounding like a young man over 15 years old.
