Chapter 5: Reveal.

"Hiccup." Acnologia spoke up while both he and Hiccup walked towards the arena. He has been eerily silent since he woke up, so Acnologia calling to Hiccup did surprise him a bit.

"Yes?" Hiccup responds, stopping to look at Acnologia.

"Tell Gobber I won't be joining today's training..." Acnologia announced, looking at the sky. "I'll meet you at the ravine." He says before walking away, leaving a confused Hiccup behind.

While walking, Acnologia drifts into deep thought about his dream... no, his past. 'Fuck.' He cursed internally. 'I'm pissed.' Acnologia reached the edge of Berk's island. Looking down, he spots the sea a couple of meter down.

With no hesitation, Acnologia jumps into the sea.

*Splash.*

The water departs where he dropped in and leveled itself when his whole body entered. 'Water...' Acnologia muses, his eyes open inside the raging sea. 'It's something I always found relaxing... But I'm not in the mood to be relaxing.'

If one were to look at the sea where Acnologia was, one would see a shining blue light, but not for long, as it disappeared after a few seconds, leaving the sea once more in it's original state.

...

Silence. The sea calmed down. No more waves could be seen, as if the sea stays still, not wanting to annoy the beast within it.

*Boom!*

a Giant body, with blue markings and wings, breaks through the water, shooting it's body into the air at speeds faster than the naked eye could see.

*Boom!*

The sound barrier breaks before the giant monster reached the clouds and melted within it.

"Whoo!"

On an island, a whole village could be seen, dancing around a bonfire, celebrating.

"Long live the new Chief!" One villager cries out, getting the crowd to cheer more while looking at the new Village Chief situated on a platform. While next to the Chief, a woman could be seen. His newly wed wife.

"Today!" The Chief calls out, standing up from his seat. "We shall feast on dragon's meat! To celebrate my rising status!" He spoke.

After his words reached the ears of everyone, the cheers erupted again, before dying just as fast, as a large shadow covered the entire island, covering the sun.

Looking up, the villagers spot a giant black and blue dragon looking at them.

"What's that, mom?" a Child asks her mother while staring at the dragon.

The mother doesn't answer, for her words get stuck in her throat as she, and everyone else, watches on as the dragon starts opening it's mouth. a Blue glow gathers between it's jaw as he eyes the villagers.

"a Demon." The mother spoke in a whispered voice, but her daughter heard it well, making the small child's eyes widen.

*Fwoo*

The blue light shoot out of the dragon's mouth, changing into a brilliant light beam...

*Boom!*

...Of death.

The dragon's roar hit the island head on, engulfing it in a blue sphere after it connected with the ground. After a few minutes, the sphere shrinks, revealing the sea... The island gone.

The dragon looks at it's destruction with squinted eyes. "a Pity." The dragon says, it's voice deep and gruff. It watches on as the sea flows in the hole where the island was, like it was never there. The dragon turns around and flied in the direction it came from.

Hiccup could be seen slowly reaching his arm out into the direction of Toothless, the Night Fury. While the Night Fury closes it's eyes and leans it's head into the hand of Hiccup.

*Boom!* *Boom!*

Both Hiccup's and Toothless' head snap into the direction of the noise. But what came into their sights made their hearts stop beating for a second. a Large black dragon with blue markings around it's body landed on the ground above the ravine. The stomach and front neck area of the black and blue dragon was white. 

Toothless, after regaining it's bearing, opened his mouth wide, preparing to kill the intruding dragon, but it's breath gets canceled after the dragon's body lights up in a blue light and shrinks.

"Not this again, man." Acnologia says, looking at the stunned duo. "What? Never seen a shapeshifting dragon?" He asks and jumps into the ravine, landing next to Hiccup. "I see you made some progress with this one." Acnologia pats Hiccup's shoulder in encouragement. "Good job."

"Wait." Hiccup lets out. "Don't just skip over that." He states, surprisingly calm.

"Skip over what?" Acnologia asks, a trace of amusement flashing in his eyes.

"Is this the reason why you didn't kill Toothless? Because you are also a dragon?" Hiccup asks Acnologia in seriousness.

"Not even close." Acnologia says, walking forward and petting Toothless' head with a smile on his face, ignoring Toothless' sour look. "It's just..." He says slowly stopping his hand. "I care for the dragons as much as I do for humans." Acnologia's smile slowly leaves his face.

Seeing Acnologia's look, Hiccup gulps and carefully chooses his next words. "Then..." Hiccup starts, making Acnologia glance at him, his hands still on Toothless' head, greatly stressing Hiccup. "What do you feel towards humans?" Hiccup asks.

"Indifference." Acnologia's single word flows through the wind as Toothless and Hiccup tenses up. "Humans are filthy. Dragons are filthy." Acnologia says, his hand slowly starting to pet Toothless again, who by now, isn't toothless anymore, baring it's fangs at Acnologia. "I am filthy too. But at least I know I am." Acnologia retrieves his hand, walks away from the two and takes a seat on a rock next to the lake of the ravine.

'Why is he like this?' Hiccup asks himself. Hiccup really did want to know. Although some people might want to run away or strike Acnologia down after he spoke those words, Hiccup didn't. Why? Because he saw the pain hiding inside Acnologia's eyes. Hiccup saw it when Acnologia first showed up. Hiccup saw it when his father told Acnologia to call him father. 'I'm sure dad saw it too... He's not bad.' Hiccup thinks. 'He's just misguided.'

Hiccup's thoughts would've been something else if he knew Acnologia wiped a whole tribe from the face of the earth.

Or would it?
