Shengzhou Continent, the Cangxuan Sect.
The Cangxuan Sect was especially busy for the past few days because the sect masters of the other three great sects had rushed to the Cangxuan Sect with sizable entourages. With such a line-up, something big was definitely happening in the Cangxuan Sect.
Of the once six great sects, the Sacred Palace had grown far more powerful than the rest, while the Heavenly Ghost Sect had been destroyed, leaving only the Cangxuan Sect, Sword Seeker Sect, Hundred Flowers Fairy Palace and the North Sea Dragon Subduing Hall to form a unified front against the Sacred Palace. With all four of these great sects gathered today, it was as if a storm was brewing here and even the tiniest disturbance would ripple through the entire Cangxuan Heaven.
The elite disciples of the other three sects had been placed on a plaza on the Cangxuan Sect main peak.
“I wonder what made our sect masters suddenly rush to the Cangxuan Sect. We’ve never gathered in a single sect even when the four sects formally allied together in the past…” The disciples from the three sects were rather puzzled by the recent events and were unable to understand this sudden visit to the Cangxuan Sect.
Although the four great sects had allied against the Sacred Palace, there was no hierarchy among them. Hence, it felt a little excessive of the Cangxuan Sect to suddenly summon the sect masters of the other three sects.
Surprisingly, however, the three sect masters had not objected and instead rushed over immediately.
“The Cangxuan Sect has crossed the line this time. Do they think they’re the leader of the four great sects?” One of the disciples voiced his dissatisfaction. Everyone usually sat on equal footing, so having the Cangxuan Sect call the others over was a little ‘boss-like’.
“Sigh, the Sacred Palace is growing stronger and stronger, let’s stop bickering about such things or we might soon share the Heavenly Ghost Sect’s fate.” There were of course no lack of more far-sighted individuals who tried to pacify the crowd.
While the disciples of the other three sects were grumbling, some of the elite Cangxuan Sect disciples that had been stationed here as well to accompany their guests chuckled in a mysterious manner and said, “It seems that you guys have yet to receive the news. Haven’t you guys realized that the Sacred Palace’s offensive is gradually being stopped in many battlefields?”
The disciples from the three sects looked at each other and could not help but ask, “I do vaguely recall hearing that a group of top experts have been reinforcing our forces, but what does that have to do with the Cangxuan Sect?”
The Cangxuan Sect disciple grinned. “That powerful force was sent by the all-heavens. Do you guys know who their leader is?”
The smile on his face grew increasingly pleased and proud. “It’s our Cangxuan Sect’s senior brother Zhou Yuan!”
“Zhou Yuan?” The disciples of the other three sects cried out in surprise. Soon after, however, someone said, “I’ve heard of Zhou Yuan before. He rose to fame in the battle for Guyuan Heaven years ago, but he was only at the Heavenly Sun stage back then. The reinforcement group’s weakest expert is a peak Nascent Source practitioner, and they even have more than a dozen Law Domain experts. How can Zhou Yuan possibly be their leader given his cultivation? Those all-heavens experts will never accept that!”
The Cangxuan Sect disciple curled his lips. “What’s the point of saying such outdated information now? When senior brother Zhou Yuan returned a few days ago, he encountered the Sacred Palace Golden Sacred Hall master Pang Yang outside Great Zhou City. I heard that Pang Yang wasn’t able to survive even a single blow and was swiftly slain by senior brother Zhou Yuan outside the city.”
Uproar!
Shock appeared on the faces of the disciples. The Sacred Palace Golden Sacred Hall master Pang Yang was a mighty and untouchable existence to them, and they would normally only hear of his terrible deeds and ferocity. It was hard to believe that such a person had been killed by Zhou Yuan in a single move.
“That’s nonsense, right?”
“Although Zhou Yuan is quite famous in the al-heavens, he can’t have grown so powerful already, right?”
“This kind of thing can’t really be lied about though?”
“Then Zhou Yuan has really reached that level?”
The disciples were in an uproar. However, one could tell that most of them were stunned and doubtful. After all, killing a Law Domain expert in a single strike was far too unbelievable to them.
Several figures stood on a mountain peak nearby, watching the plaza as they listened.

A clear, oriole-like voice chirped in a joyous tone, “It seems that the news is true. Zhou Yuan has returned!”
It was a young lady with a green ponytail. She was pretty and adorable, her huge, bright eyes filled with youthful vigor. An ice-blue bird lazily napped on her left shoulder.
This familiar appearance naturally belonged to Lu Luo, whom Zhou Yuan had last seen in the battle for Guyuan Heaven several years ago.
“So he is already able to lead Law Domain experts after a few short years?” By her side stood a seductive and sexy figure. Her extreme curves made it nearly impossible for anyone to turn their eyes away.
Bells hung around her bare ankles, tinkling beautifully as the wind blew past and somehow made her even more charming.
A black dress covered Zuoqiu Qingyu’s body. She stretched, revealing her unbelievable curves as she lazily said, “How hateful, how am I going to catch up if he’s always rising so quickly.”
“That is indeed very difficult. Even I don’t feel like chasing him anymore.” The muscular Ning Zhan helplessly said. It was hard to believe even a battle junky like him had given up.
“Among us, only the fastest blindy has reached the pseudo Law Domain stage, while the rest of us are still at the perfect Nascent Source stage.” Ning Zhan looked towards a man in plain clothes who was seated on a boulder beside him. A piece of black cloth was wrapped around the man’s eyes, while a rusted sword lay across his lap. It was the Blind Sword, Li Chunjun.
Lu Luo placed her fists against her tiny hips and said, “Rising from the Heavenly Sun stage to the perfect Nascent Source stage over these past few years is already extremely quick, and it's mostly thanks to the benefits we received thanks to Zhou Yuan in the battle for Guyuan Heaven. That’s why we shouldn’t be so unsatisfied. After all, no one can be like that abnormality Zhou Yuan.”
Ning Zhan nodded in agreement. “It’s good that Zhou Yuan returned to Cangxuan Heaven at such a time. The Sacred Palace has already grown far too powerful and if he still doesn’t return, I feel that our four sects would have soon followed the Heavenly Ghost Sect’s fate.”
Zuoqiu Qingyu coughed softly and shot a look at Ning Zhan. He was stunned for a second before abruptly realizing what was wrong as he awkwardly looked towards a silhouette under the nearby tree.
The figure was dressed in a large black robe and had a pale face. His eyes looked exceptionally gloomy and fierce, giving him an approachable aura.
It was Zhen Xu. He had survived because he had been on a mission when the Heavenly Ghost Sect was exterminated. However, almost all of his fellow disciples and teachers had lost their lives.
Zhen Xu had spent the past few years finding the final surviving members of the Heavenly Ghost Sect, who were rumored to have been trying to take revenge on the Sacred Palace like maniacs. However, due to their lack of power, they were often akin to moths flying towards the fire.
Lu Luo sighed as she gazed at the ghost-like figure of Zhen Xu and softly said, “Zhen Xu, don’t be overly anxious. We will definitely beat the Sacred Palace in the end!”
Zhen Xu finally lifted his head and indifferently said, “That old dog Sheng Yuan is growing increasingly powerful and the four great sects are just barely able to manage for now. I honestly do not see any hope.”
Sensing the despairing tone in his voice, Zuoqiu Qingyu frowned and said, “Zhen Xu, calm yourself and don’t do anything reckless. The Heavenly Ghost Sect has already been destroyed and you guys will only be wasting your lives if you try anything rash!”
Zhen Xu replied in his usual raspy voice, “What else can we do? Without the Heavenly Ghost Sect, we’re just a bunch of wandering ghosts. Without any goal, we will sooner or later vanish from the face of this earth.”
Lu Luo hurriedly said, “Isn’t Zhou Yuan back? He’ll definitely be able to change things!”
Zhen Xu was silent for a moment before he muttered, “Sheng Yuan is too powerful, even he will not be able to win…”
As his voice rang out, a hand suddenly reached out from the darkness behind and gently patted his shoulder. Soon after, a voice sounded, “Hey, do you really have so little confidence in me?”
The sudden voice alarmed everyone, including Zhen Shu. They looked towards the darkness, seeing space ripple as a familiar figure slowly walked out.
A face beamed under the sunlight, the familiarness of it making their hearts somehow feel at ease.
It was Zhou Yuan, who had rushed to the Cangxuan Sect after receiving the news!
